The service was ok. Ambiance could get updated. But the food was not good. I ordered, per their menu, the number 1 which is 3 small tacos, rice and beans. The meat I wanted was pork in green sauce. The meal came in a styrofoam container which was ok . The rice was bland and the beans were ok. Now the tacos which supposedly is based on the restaurants name were horrible. They were pork skins in green sauce super greasy and turned my stomach no pork. I closed the lid and didn't eat. I asked the lady and she said that pork in green sauce is pork skins. The menu did not say that. It said pork in green sauce. In fact there was pork skins listed separately. My partner had the chicken tacos which also had a strange flavor. I order the steak tacos. Flavor was spot on. I give that a five. However it was very greasy. And not much meat at all. Five tacos barely filled me. I will go back. I'll ask for extra meat with lots of napkins lol! read more

I was surprised when I walked in and saw they offered Quesabirria tacos, and even more surprised once I tasted them. Very good ! And that consomme' was insanely flavorful and loaded with shredded beef. I have eaten more than my share of birria tacos over the years and these were the best ones yet ! The asada tacos left a little to be desired flavor wise, but overall this is a nice place to have here in New Iberia. read more

This place has been here for yeeeeears and I only just tried it yesterday. Shame shame shame. They are serving some GOOD food here, and I love the tacos! I had the green chili and pork tacos with rice and beans. They were the most delicious, creamy refried beans I've ever had. I'd order that by itself! It's not a crowded place so it's easy to get lunch and eat inside in a jiffy. The communication was a little rough, so maybe figure out what you want before you go so there isn't too much of a problem with getting your order in. I really have steered cleared of Mexican restaurants for a long time because of the overuse of cheese (and trust, I love me some cheese) but Tacos San Luis did not overdo it with cheese at all! Fantastic authentic Mexican ! The flavors are right and the decor is right it's a small place and the food is defiantly cooked to order it was amazing I'll be back. And I'll recommend it.. I had the barbacoa enchiladas. The red sauce was great full of good chili flavor and the babrbacoa essence came thru wonderfully. The red salsa on the side was just the right heat and smokiness to compliment the enchiladas. My table mates had the Gordita taco plate and it looks wonderful. They have authentic tacos and tortes. The carnitas and al pastor taste delicious. The meats are cooked fresh to order and seasoned to perfection. Tried the tamales they were ok. The masa was a little bit on the dry side. The quesadillas are pretty good they have a perfect mixture of juicy meat and gooey cheese. The melon water and the horchata are a must try. read more
