Taco plate

Tried a variety of different things. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The service was great. The employee working the register helped me with any questions that I had when making my order. Placed the order and waited there but was surprised with how quickly they made everything.

This place has been here for yeeeeears and I only just tried it yesterday. Shame shame shame. They are serving some GOOD food here, and I love the tacos! I had the green chili and pork tacos with rice and beans. They were the most delicious, creamy refried beans I've ever had. I'd order that by itself! It's not a crowded place so it's easy to get lunch and eat inside in a jiffy. The communication was a little rough, so maybe figure out what you want before you go so there isn't too much of a problem with getting your order in. I really have steered cleared of Mexican restaurants for a long time because of the overuse of cheese (and trust, I love me some cheese) but Tacos San Luis did not overdo it with cheese at all! This may be the only Mexican spot I go to from now on :)

Barbacoa enchiladas

Fantastic authentic Mexican ! The flavors are right and the decor is right it's a small place and the food is defiantly cooked to order it was amazing I'll be back. And I'll recommend it.. I had the barbacoa enchiladas. The red sauce was great full of good chili flavor and the babrbacoa essence came thru wonderfully. The red salsa on the side was just the right heat and smokiness to compliment the enchiladas. My table mates had the Gordita taco plate and it looks wonderful. Give it a shot bilingual menus are available.

Very good. One of the more authentic places in New Iberia. Try them out. Outdoor seating only.

If you don't mind eating outside, it's the best Mexican food around. Sizzling steak tacos are the best!

Cheap, fast and delicious. Probably the only place worth eating at in this backwater burg.

I came here on a Sunday evening around 8:45 PM. It was pretty quiet when we arrived, but it was…read morealso close to closing time. We sat at the bar and were immediately brought complimentary chips, salsa, and black bean dip. The salsa wasn't spicy, which I appreciated, and the black bean dip was delicious and a nice addition. I ordered: * Street Taco Plate: I chose the steak, though you can also choose from al pastor, carnitas, or chicken. The plate came with three street tacos, rice, and beans. I opted for the charro beans, which included sausage and bacon and was delicious. The tacos themselves were tasty, but I would have liked a little more protein in each one. The corn tortillas could have also been heated a bit longer, as they were still quite soft. One thing I found disappointing was the lack of customization options. The street tacos are not available à la carte, so I wasn't able to create my own combination plate with a street taco, enchilada, and tamale. You also can't mix proteins on the street taco plate. You have to choose just one meat option. Our server had only been working there for a couple of weeks and wasn't very familiar with the menu. He wasn't familiar with what carnitas and al pastor were and couldn't provide recommendations, mentioning that he only orders the fajitas himself. That said, he was friendly, attentive, and did a great job refilling our chips, checking on us, and making sure our drinks stayed full. I think it would benefit the restaurant if employees had the opportunity to sample more menu items so they could better guide guests. The prices are on the higher side, but the food was enjoyable overall. The restaurant was clean and offers both indoor seating and a covered outdoor patio area. Despite a few minor issues, it was a pleasant dining experience and a good late-night spot to grab some Mexican food.

I came here for the first time with my family early on a Saturday evening. We were seated promptly…read moreand they brought chips and salsa to the table. Our waitress took a while to come to the table, but otherwise service was okay. I was happy to see that they had ceviche on the menu (it's my go-to at Mexican restaurants). The kids all ordered the cheeseburger with fries off of the kids menu, and enjoyed them. My husband ordered the enchiladas El Paso, but said they were just okay (he didn't care for the chicken used). The ceviche I ordered was good, but I wouldn't order it again. It was covered in spice, which I could've done without. Ceviche has a great flavor simply from the pico and lime - no extra spices needed. The serving size was perfect for me, so I'd say it's on the smaller size because I usually take home leftovers. Overall, it was a mediocre experience.
