Friendly staff, good food! Everything was very fresh and reasonably priced. This food stand is nestled in the parking lot of a steakhouse, facing the water with a few picnic tables. We tried the beef burrito, fish taco and the guac and chips. All were lovely and would return for all of it again. Great view of the water and the boats passing through.

Loves this little gem in downtown town Huntsville. Located next to Boston Pizza right by the water. We tried the fish tacos, boom boom shrimp and the tenderloin beef. All of them were fresh and tasty with nice choice of toppings. For dessert try their funnel cake fries which really are mini churros. Will come back next season to eat here again.

Tried 5 different tacos- the breaded cauliflower, pulled chicken, pulled pork, shrimp, and fish. Pulled pork was the favourite. Everything was fresh and hot! Being able to pick from a large variety of toppings and sauces was great. Very quick to be served and the seating areas were nice with some sunshades overtop. Not sure why they are calling the food they serve tacos. More like bland open sandwiches. There's nothing taco in them. No cilantro . No flavour. Seems like owners have changed. Last year, it was delicious; this year it's just sad food. I got fish tacos which were extremely fishy . Don't buy your food there, but on the food truck next to them . I got fish and chips there, and it was delicious. read more

Tacos on the waterfront? Count me in! Great little business with friendly service and good food. They get quite busy around lunchtime but do a good job of getting the food out with a smile. We had 2 shrimp tacos, which seemed to be quite popular and some chips and guacamole. I liked the selection of toppings, which included purple cabbage (a crunchy fave of mine on tacos) and this hot mama found that their hot sauce packed a little kick, whereas most leave me cold. The tacos were good, but I will admit that I prefer a corn tortilla for my tacos and was surprised to find that the chips were also made from flour tortillas. I'm half a point off for this, but I can also see how it would be hard to source decent corn tortillas in Huntsville. Guacamole was good and you could tell is was freshly prepared. The shrimp tacos were quite tasty, but the sauce on the shrimp was a little too sweet for my liking. More of a thai spice than Mexican heat. Overall, though, a very yummy lunch. Tacos were $5 each, $6 for shrimp. I consider this a bit pricey since I live in Toronto and there are numerous places that I can get a monster taco for that price. If you're looking for a spicy little lunch by the waterfront, you can't go wrong at Taco Stop. Check 'em out if you're in Huntsville. read more

Awesome tacos! They are only open May 24 to September and close in the winter. The food is so tasty, fresh and service is great. It is right on the water so you can pull up with your boat or walk over and grab a seat on one of their patio tables! A must go! read more

Sooooo tasty! I got the battered fish and the cauliflower tacos and they were terrific. Our group was going to Boston Pizza next door and I'm not a fan so needed a quick fix to tide me over. The Taco Stop had just what I needed and super fast. The purple cabbage is not to be missed - crunchy and yummy on both of the tacos I got. So happy that I found this joint! read more

Absolutely amazing! We visit at least every other week during the season. Fish tacos are amazing. Make sure to try the Funky Fries with chorizo. The absolute best. Service is awesome and so friendly. It is situated right on the water and has a great area for sitting. read more

This is a fresh and convenient little place for a bite to eat in the area. I would have to say I enjoyed the perfectly cooked crispy fresh fries better than the taco or burrito bowl though. Would definitely come back for those fresh fries. read more

Tasty. Hits the spot. Maybe a little pricey...we had 4 tacos and 2 drinks and it came to 25 bucks, but we'll be back. Right on the river, you can't beat the ambiance. read more

Marinated and cured in an acid of lime and tomatoes, the fish takes on a pink hue in the ceviche ($16) and has the taste of a lighter Arctic char. It's wonderfully fresh, either by itself or scooped onto a crispy thin tortilla chip, the citrus acid nicely balanced with a hint of heat. The starter just needed more salt. In fact, all their dishes need more seasoning. Perhaps El Pueblito is trying to respect an ingredient's natural flavours or cater to Bracebridge's older demographic, but everything needed an extra hit of salt to finish the dish - maybe they should just leave some at each table. The same pickerel tasted completely different in the fish tacos ($20), once lightly grilled and topped with pineapple salsa. Since the fish isn't deep fried and there's not a typical slaw topping, the tacos are soft; I wish there was a crunchy element to provide textural interest - even some finely chopped bell peppers and red onion would be great. Still, the tacos were tasty - the corn tortillas chewy and fresh, and the spicy mayo and tomatillo salsa great condiments for the dish. The refried beans were rich and smooth, lovely on its own or smooshed into the rice. The grains get even better once you add in consommé and chopped onions (from the birria tacos). In the end, the fish tacos are a little soft but at least they're not messy to eat. Consequently, the complete opposite experience of having a birria taco ($20). Stuffed with beef and deep fried, these arrive blistering hot and need to be wrapped in a tissue to dunk. Having seen many people have the dish at food trucks, it's a wonder how anyone isn't covered in consommé and grease without a proper table and dishware. If you're ordering these, it's best not to wear white. The slowly cooked beef was plentiful and tender, but because under seasoned meat and consommé, we couldn't help feel that the birrias were missing something. I was waiting for a flavourful explosion to erupt, only to be met with a slow-moving stream of lava. The flavours improved once we added tons of the raw onion, cilantro, and avocado into the crispy hot taco, a few sparks in the lava stream. Saving room for churros ($10 for 6) is essential. When our server asked us whether we wanted six or ten of the pastries, I thought it must be a rehearsed question as why would two people need more than six? One bite into the hot hollow logs of fried dough and we were hooked. Dusted with cinnamon sugar they were already delicious, but a dunk into a creamy thick not-overly-sweet caramel and the dessert was absolutely sublime. Yeah, so maybe we could have devoured ten.
