The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate. I was told that they only had burgers and that I wouldn't be able to find something here (since I don't eat beef/ pork)... I DID! They had a chicken or a fish sandwich. I had the chicken sandwich. Prices are reasonable and I was told they now make their buns from scratch!! They tasted fresh! Was it my favorite grilled chicken sandwich ever? No, but I was so happy they had one! I love love love the pickles on the counters and tables for you to add to your burgers. I am a pickle lover and yes, I added pickles to my chicken sandwich! Also, Get onion rings!!! I am still fantasizing about them! So crispy and seasoned to perfection. Drooling right now. Overall, they are a well oiled machine. We were in there after a funeral and only 2 people working. We were able to get served and one cooked everything. My family is large and we packed the place. They did amazing! Thanks again for the chicken sandwich, the pickles and the amazing onion rings!!! Oh yes... and 1919 rootbeer on tap! Win! You can also get a Heggie's, but with their burgers... get one or two of those instead!

If you are looking for a local, "dive" type bar with cold beer and a pretty tasty, cheap burger,…read moreSparetime is a pretty safe bet. I specifically made a visit after reading some reviews on their burger. This simple bar burger comes on a nice soft bun and topped with melty cheese. The bar top and tables throughout all have bins of pickles to add, which is think is awesome. The burger was decent but for the ridiculously cheap price it was excellent. The crinkle fries were perfectly fried. This burger would be a show stopper if they didn't use a frozen patty. It is a small town, local bar and they are keeping cost down and I appreciate that. I don't know if it makes sense to charge a buck or two more and use fresh ground??? I really enjoyed the space and the feel of the bar. The staff were friendly considering I was an out of towner.

Nothing real over the top, but nothing that came up short either. Food-wise, the burnt ends were not very good (overly hard and chewy) and had me a little worried about what might come next. The fish & chips was also not a great one as the fish was a bit soggy and way too fishy. Luckily, the brisket plate was a very solid dish. Tender meat, the cornbread was great, the beans were AMAZING, and their BBQ sauces all pretty solid. I'd say this is a 3.5 star review overall, but the brisket plate with the sides are worth it. Just be cautious about what else you order.

The server was welcoming and had great suggestions. My husband, a Reuben enthusiast, had what he is calling The Best Reuben ever. The corned beef was smoked, which makes it extra good. I had the Cobb salad, which sounds kind of boring, but I added smoked pulled chicken and some of their homemade Bleu cheese dressing. It was so good. The best of all: those fresh cut and perfectly seasoned fries! We don't go that way often, but if we ever do, we will be building in a stop at Third Street Tavern for sure!

We stopped by on a Saturday as we were looking for a good family lunch spot and the other Yelp…read morereviews were good. The whole experience seemed flustered. The host originally seated us in a space that did not fit our party. Then he moved us to a center spot in a long, family-style table with people on either side of us. We had a five year old with us who was overly tired and very spunky and we had to try to keep her focused on us and not our neighboring patrons. Was really not the most appropriate seating for children but we didn't want to ask for yet another table. Soon after we sat down, we discovered that the parties on both sides of us were upset and looking for any employee so they could express their frustration. Seeing as we were all so close, we could hear them complain to others in their parties about the service. We learned shortly that we should have written up our losses early and moved on. We didn't. We ordered our beverages and immediately got water. The rest (2 soft drinks, an iced tea, and a milk) slowly trickled out one by one. The waiter apologized every single time he came to the table about how slow everything was from us being seated to getting our drinks to him coming to take our order. Once the food came out, he was apologizing again for how long that took. He wasn't wrong. As for the food, it was fine. Portions were average to smallish for the price. It wasn't as special as we had hoped it would be based on the descriptions. We each got something different and all said that we wouldn't order that item again. Not that it was bad. It just wasn't good. The best thing we had was the pretzel stick appetizer. That was pretty good but for the price, we wouldn't order it again. Nothing was super memorable except the decor which was super fun to look at. Oh and the very apologetic waiter. Our food came out hot. Turns out that was not true for the table to our left. The table to our right got the wrong food so half their group was done while the others were just starting. Apparently one of the cooks had called in. So, over all, I gave them an optimistic 3 stars. It was like a participation award with the assumption that if they were firing on all cylinders, it could have been much better. Personally, i wouldn't try them again but as the only Irish pub in the area, it could be a neat happy hour hang out. It just was not a family lunch spot.
