Decided to try Tacos 4 Life for lunch today! Some of the combinations of tacos are kind of crazy so I was a little nervous... but I've got to say, it was actually really good!!! I got a cheese quesadilla, a grilled chicken taco, a classic beef taco, and a Carnitas taco. My favorite was the Carnitas taco and the quesadilla! The chipotle aïoli that came with the quesadilla was so good! And the Carnitas taco had so much flavor. The girl in the drive-through was super helpful too because they were out of all their salsa except for mild, but she still went out of her way without being asked, to try and get me some sauce she thought I would like. I ate out in the parking lot and didn't go inside, but it is nice that they have a drive-through so you can stuff your face in your car while watching TikTok's. Though they do have outdoor seating, which is a plus if you'd rather be outside. read more

I recently ate at Tacos 4 Life after discovering that they have several gluten free options. I had a half order of Ultimate Nachos and a Carnitas Taco on a crunchy corn taco shell. Solid, fun meal. I got a half southwest bowl with a taco and it was well portioned. The southwest bowl was my favorite out of the two. Very tasty, except I got it with shrimp and the shrimp seemed excessively salty. The mango habanero taco was also good though, I just felt like the taco as a whole was a little dry. The meat was nice and tender but maybe if they drizzled some of the oil from cooking the meat over it or use a guacamole spread instead of putting cold avocadoes on top? Just something to make the taco a little less dry but the flavor was good. It is also reasonably priced. I was excited to see when this new business was being built in Columbia! Not only is it another fun taco spot in town but also sponsors a mission to raising funds to feeds folks! This is corporate food service at its worst. Grossly overpriced, it's a flavorless, insipid concept that seems to pander to a clientele that can't cope with flavor. My fried chicken taco was drenched in HONEY, served on a cold cardboard-like corn tortilla with everything covered in completely tasteless shredded lettuce and cheese. Ugh. For $4.89 less tax and tip! There was about as much meat as my middle finger, by volume, not a coincidence since the restaurant seems to be making the symbolic gesture to its diners associated with that extremity. The room is nicely decorated, at least, and the staff friendly, but no beer or wine. If I received a tacos 4 life sentence without a possibility of parole, I would certainly prefer the death penalty. read more

Revising my review to 5 stars. They catered an event this evening for 90 people. 102 showed up. There was still plenty. Meats ran out low but still had plenty of rice, beans, chips, salsa, queso, etc. Drinks were ice tea and punch. The tea was good. Never tried the punch. Meats were chicken and beef. This was the first time eating here so I did not know what to expect. I had the Mango Habanero taco and the Korean BBQ taco. Both were delicious and neither was too spice. The side of cream corn was awesome. The service was efficient. The prices were on the high side but it appears they also support those around the world who do not have food so I am good with the price. read more

My girlfriend and I went through the drive thru for the first time so we couldn't decide what we wanted. Crystal took our order and was very patient with us and helped us navigate the menu. We pulled around to pay and Crystal and Kaylee (I think that was her name sorry I threw away the receipt) were very pleasant and complimented our puppy hanging out of the back window. Definitely made us feel welcomed and the food came out surprisingly fast for our 6 taco order. We got home and all of the tacos were delicious! The chips and cheese that came with it were so good too! Definitely will be back for the service we received and to try all of the flavors! Love the business concept of donating meals and displaying the children who've benefitted from the organization's mission. Staff was patient, warm, kind, and welcoming. Great volume and song choice for music (family friendly, uplifting). Liked the smaller room for more intimate conversations. Food was prepared very fast. Short: Good food, Amazing service, a little pricey. Long: The food here is pretty good, and a good portion. I ordered two of their burritos, assuming they were small (Like their kids burritos), but I could barely even finish half of one. Those burritos are massive, and tasty. The food was a little slow on coming out (Maybe we just came during busy hours), but the server (Wyatt) was very friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. There are a few reviews complaining about the food, but we never had an issue with it. My friend and I had lunch at Tacos For Life in Columbia for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The young man, Ryan, at the register was extremely patient and helpful in explaining items and making recommendations. We give him 5 stars! The different taco selections are amazing. I would really have loved to give this place 5 stars, but after my visit yesterday don't think I will be going back. The 3 other times I have went the food has been great. Yesterday however was not the case. Their was only one cashier, so took forever to order food, they were out of hot and mild sauce. Then once I did received my food my buffalo chicken taco was not fresh at all and the carnitas taco i received tested sour, was not sure if it was the meat or cabbage that was on top. The queso rice I got tasted like it was weeks old and was cold. Needless to say I was not able to eat much of my food. we went on a Saturday evening around 6pm. There was multiple employees standing around doing nothing. went to the restroom and one of the employees were putting on a makeup. She was not on break. They told us it was a 10 minute wait until they would start taking orders again. We waited 30 minutes until an employee informed us it would be 45 minutes until we could even order. The employees were literally standing around doing nothing. There was no urgency to do thier jobs. Big disappointment. The employees could not manage both the drive thru and lobby. So I would like to start with the positive, the first time I went in was 8/10 was during grand opening week and the drive through was not open yet. The food was great, customer service was not the best but understandable because it's brand new. Because of this experience we decided to go again on a Saturday night January 7,2023. When we arrived we saw 5-7 people waiting on to go orders but we didn't think much of it granted it's a Saturday night rush at 6pm, so we were prepared to wait a little bit. we get in line to order and immediately see 3 workers back of kitchen not completing orders, at this time the drive through was open. About 10am after waiting to order, they had announced they had to stop taking orders 10min to catch up, understandable. We waited another 15 minutes to see the cashier the only cashier on a Saturday night to bring up her own food and eat it in front of us. We waited a total of 30 minutes in line at this point we were second in line because everyone had left. Then someone (becuase you can't tell who is management or associate) came to tell us that it will be another 45 min to even take orders again... while glancing on our way out with no food in hand, we notice that no one is working on orders to "catch up" being a past manager of a kitchen there was no urgency to complete orders Or even serve the customers. So standing was their job at this time. so we get in the car and notice that they closed the drive through rightfully so, but we had also noticed 2 employees on break outside smoking. There were plenty of employees maybe even too many to be able to catch up and at least take our order. So my question would be: why open the drive through if you don't have your lobby let alone kitchen figured out? why no since of urgency in whoever management staff is? How in the hell can the owner and his or her staff not be ready for a Saturday night rush in Columbia, Missouri of all places? will not ever come here again read more
