    Excellent french onion soup

While here on a business trip it is nice to have a restaurant to go to in the hotel as it was 25 degrees outside! I had the American for breakfast which consisted of 2 eggs, turkey sausage (you could do pork or vegetarian) as well as wheat toast and potatoes. I really liked it though probably would ask the eggs to be cooked slightly longer as they didn't appear full done (and I like runny eggs so I'm not asking for fully cooked ones). I thought the coffee was delicious. The other morning I had the huevos rancheros but it was too heavy I wouldn't order those again, but this time I had the cafe latte and it was great. For dinner I had the steak tartar which was tasty and to start the french onion soup which was made perfectly. Perfect on a cold night.

What a pleasure to have Eleven Eleven located in The Broadway Hotel! The service and food was absolutely outstanding!!!! Perfect to stop in for a cocktail and small plate, breakfast and/or Dinner and this trip we enjoyed all three sometime throughout our stay. All of the staff was very helpful, nice, friendly, professional and any food or drink options we had, perfect! The ambience really allows the guests to settle in, relax and enjoy their whole experience. KUDOS on a job well done, thank you!

Super delicious food we ordered the classic eggs Benedict with home fries, the shrimp and grits, French toast, ham and cheese frittata, the Oscar eggs Benedict, and two iced cinnamon roll lattes for $68.00. We all left stuffed and happy! Definitely will be back! Upscale environment with affordable prices. The most expensive item was $16.00 and by the quality of the food we got I would say it is worth it!

First of all I'd like to start by saying our service was exceptional. I wish I could remember our waitresses name but for such a large group (birthday dinner) she was able to get all our orders without rushing us and she never seemed stressed to take down any modifications or bring out sauces. She also wasn't hard to reach and always seemed to be around when you needed her but wasn't hovering. Perfect. I'll start off by saying the ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. Even though it was so close to the hotels lobby, it was still quiet and not too crowded. There was plenty of space and the lighting was nice for the evening. I started off the evening with the "flash fried calamari" as my appetizer. I'm not sure if the "flash fried" is what made it look so undercooked but it was soggy and literally white. It seemed as if it hadn't been cooked for too long and lacked a crunch. Also a bit tasteless. I also seemed to have more fried bits and pieces than actually entire rings of calamari. For my meal, I ordered a prime sirloin burger, medium, with no cheese and added bacon. The fries come with it and they were super good but the portion was really small. 15 or so fries. My burger was a little too well done and quite dry and my bacon might as well have been saltine crackers as hard as it was. It seemed unseasoned and just overall dry. The bread was good though! With a little olive oil and salt!

These were our amazing appetizers. We ate them way too fast to get a photo. They were Korean pork and delicious!

Amazing food and even cooler atmosphere. The price is higher than some but you definitely get what you pay for in this restaurant. I highly recommend whatever is on special as both times I've been it's been surprisingly good. As a side note it is also a great people watching restaurant if you get a table next to the windows.

Oscar: Crab Cake Benedikt with perfectly poached eggs.

Excellent dinner and breakfast at this restaurant. The Oscar (crab cake Benedict) were outstanding. Service was also amazing. Sarah was polite, funny and quick. At dinner, good variety of beers and an unexpected nice wine list.

I couldn't have told you a single thing about this part of the country. But after one lunch at Beet Box, I'll be talking about Columbia for a long time. The Lamb & Eggs is an absolute masterpiece. On paper, it doesn't even sound like it should work. Then it shows up looking like a beautiful mess--a mishmash of flavors, textures, herbs, vegetables, creamy elements, perfectly fried eggs, and incredibly seasoned lamb. It feels like chaos... until you take the first bite. Then it all makes perfect sense. Every ingredient has a purpose, and somehow it all comes together in one of the most memorable dishes I've had in a very long time. As incredible as that bowl was, the Za'atar Fries with Harissa Mayo somehow stole the show. Crispy. Battered. Perfectly seasoned. Every single fry had that satisfying crunch on the outside while staying fluffy inside, and the harissa mayo was the perfect finishing touch. These aren't fries you order because you're looking to round out the meal. They're fries you'll be thinking about long after you leave. I came into Columbia knowing absolutely nothing about it. I left wondering how a place this good isn't on every food lover's radar. Beet Box isn't just a great lunch spot--it's a Godsend. Six stars...out of five!

Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.
