    Overcooked ribeye ordered med rare.
    Chris F.

I stopped in for lunch with friends from work. We were told 45 minutes to an hour for a table and sat at the bar. We noticed half the tables were empty. The music was very loud people had to talk louder making it harder to hear. The bartender was amazing, she provided exceptional service. She was friendly and quick. The food on the other hand was pretty bad. I don't usually give poor reviews. My steak was supposed to be med-rare it was mostly well done with a tiny bit of pink. My friend's steak was cold. Since we waited for 45 minutes for our food we did not have time to send it back.

No matter what state (I eat) at Texas Roadhouse - it is always very consistent with service and quality. Today, this place had all sorts of people coming in; they were busy as all get out. We (both) ordered ribeyes - one rare - one medium rare. Both steaks were cooked (spot on), to a true appropriate temperature. Both were good flavored beef and seasoned well (though they do use plenty of kosher salt). Caesar salad: always a good chain restaurant Caesar....one of better ones you'll get. Chili was very good. It has a bolder taste...very hearty texture. And I give this location kudos with the "loaded" baked potato toppers...for $1.29. This location, (actually) gave you plenty of the toppers....I didn't feel gypped at all (like I normally do at a lot of places). Columbia TR: Hats off to you folks...for do a great job!

TLDR 1. Toxic takeout box used for hot steak 2. Manager John Socha refused to acknowledge or address the issue -- didn't care, didn't look it up, took no responsibility Fact: Styrofoam (#6 polystyrene) starts to break down and leach chemicals like styrene at temperatures above 70°C. This is a known health risk and should not be used for hot food. Also Fact: Texas Roadhouse uses Styrofoam boxes to package freshly grilled steaks for takeout -- a clear misuse of this material based on its known temperature limits. I raised this concern with the manager. Here's how the conversation went: 1. "We've been doing this for a while and no one has complained."This isn't a defense -- it's complacency. Just because others didn't notice or complain doesn't mean the practice is safe. Yes, I caught it, and yes, it's a real issue. 2. "All our containers are health-department approved."This is technically true, but regulations are outdated. PS plastic is only considered "food safe" below 70°C. It is not designed for hot, greasy food straight off the grill. That's why over 10 states have banned foam containers entirely. Hiding behind outdated approval doesn't change the science -- and refusing to act now that you're aware shows a lack of responsibility. It's one thing for customers to assume a takeout box is safe. It's another for a restaurant -- especially management -- to show this level of ignorance and indifference. I get it -- maybe you're technically in the clear for now, until Missouri catches up on regulation. But using that as a shield, rather than even bothering to verify the concern or acknowledge the science, is exactly the kind of attitude that leads to bad practices going unchecked for years.

    Mold ice

-Never got our rolls -Took 15 mins to get seated and no one else was in line -Ice had mold in it, black specks. Ordered three drinks and they all had it. -booth was dirty had crumbs all over table and seat -Food was dry and not great. Usually this place was okay but maybe it's gone downhill

Great spot to watch sport if you can't hit a mizzou game close by. Always busy but fun stuff all over the walls decor. The guy server was amazing with our five person group on a busy Sunday. Delicious food and go to spot for a great steak.

    Herb Crusted Chicken

The best restaurant in town! I always get my Herb Crusted Chicken and it is always big, juicy and flavorful. Mashed potatoes and corn are always great too, as well as their salads and fries. They have great servers as well who get your food out so quick! Same ambiance as every other TRH but that adds to the experience!

While waiting for a table we sat at the bar and ordered a cocktail. Double Tito's was delivered in a small portion in a large drink glass and clearly not a "double". When the person serving this he explained their "double" was only 2 ounces. When we challenged the pour he immediately called over his walkie-talkie system for a manager. She emphasized the the restaurant policy was just 2 ounces and left the bar area. I showed the server a citation from the web was at least a 3 ounce pour he said " when you own the company, you can tell me how to pour". I thought this was an asshole reply and told him so. He again called the manager and she said I was treating her staff rudely and would be asked to leave. We left never to return! The staff was very unfriendly and cited adherence to company policy. Again never will return to this location.

Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.

My drink had a rose petal in it, but that little touch didn't feel contrived or cheeky - it was just a nice pop of color in a great-tasting drink. The baked Boursin cheese was absolutely amazing - I walked out of there realizing I probably ate half a wheel of cheese, and I totally didn't regret it. Dinner was the highlight - I ordered the boom boom shrimp - served on a bed of sushi rice, there were mangos, thinly sliced jalapeños, purple cabbage, shrimp fried to perfection, and a nicely flavored boom boom sauce on top. My only criticism of this place is that plates come out of the kitchen as they make them, so be prepared to share a dish or wait. We were halfway through my dinner before my friend's fish and chips arrived. I'm happy to share, but I'm not a fan of this dining trend. Overall fantastic dinner experience!!
