This place was just so-so. It is a combination of a Tex-Mex restaurant and sports bar. There were 7 huge TVs playing basketball sports loud. There is a Cantina bar area too. Most of the menu items are Tex-Mex but there are also burgers, ribs and wings. There were only two vegetarian options: a veggie burrito and fried cauliflower "wings". I was curious about the cauliflower "wings" so I ordered that. I was expecting the cauliflower to be fried or look like wings. However, the cauliflower was just baked and barely cooked. It was served with dipping options, celery and carrots. I ate the cauliflower but I was disappointed in the dish. I could easily have made this at home. Came here with my dog and girlfriends and sat on the patio - super clean space inside and out, which I always notice. Big bonus: they're dog-friendly and even brought her water. Our waiter, Jesus, was awesome - friendly, attentive, and really helpful with the menu. We ordered the quesabirrias and... wow. They do them a little differently - kind of like a layered quesadilla folded taco-style - and the flavor was seriously on point. Paired it with their micheladas, which were just as good. They've got a huge menu with plenty of options, but honestly, I'd go back just for that combo again. Only regret is I ate it too fast to get a picture . Adrianna was an AWESOME Server! She helped with menu choices, was super friendly! Manager was also very friendly, checked on our food and cleared our empty plates, (that's a big plus for me)! We only had appetizers, Chips and quac and street corn. Both were exceptional, and huge portions! I also had to try the beans, that's always how I decide a restaurants worth...Outstanding! I have been to Tacos and Tarros twice in the last week. The second time I brought a small group. This is by far my favorite taco+ restaurant in Nogales. Good selection of beverages. I have tried the pastor taco bowl, supreme burrito, tacos and beans. The taco bowl is decent size and has a significant amount of romaine lettuce under the beans, meat and rice. The burrito is loaded with meat etc. The tacos are heaping with meat. Oh, and did I mention the awesome toppings bar with lots of stuff to add to your food, and many salsa options. I love the atmosphere of this place. Nice Mexican music too. The staff who I have encountered have limited English but their personalities makes it fun to try my poor Spanish. Stopped in for lunch with co-workers. Had two asada caramello one flour and one corn. They were very good. But the rockstar of the food was the roasted peppers from the salsa bar. They had some sort of brine and OMG they were so good! Not too spicy hot just the right amount and the flavor is WOW. The tables were clean and the service was quick. Becareful with their cheese. It's so thick I ended up having it stuck in my throat and ran to the ER afterwards.

Spotted this place & the menu looked pretty good. When we first walked in we were not certain if we should seat ourselves or wait. Someone greeted us & said sit wherever we want. (A sign would be helpful). My husband & I decided to order the Tabla Espanola. Took a long time to get our drinks, it would help if you guys wrote your orders down. Our son's wings came out first. At that point it had been about 15 min. Normally as a family we wait until everyone has their meal so we can eat together. My daughter's burrito came out 15 min later and my husband & I finally received ours another 15 min after that. Others that eat there locally shared with us this is not usually their experience. Waiting 45 min for food is insane. Especially when at that point both our kids were done eating. At the very least offer to bring the Queso Fundido out that's part of the tabla espanola if you are super busy. We saw others that came in after us that ordered similar food & were served 15-30 min ahead of us. We even wondered if it had something to do with us being from out of town or if they had simply forgotten to cook our meal. As soon as my son's plate came out, I got the impression we had been overlooked, perhaps the kitchen thinking they had filled the ticket. PLEASE do not serve people this way! It's just impolite to make others at a table wait that long, forced to choose between eating or letting their food get cold. I'd have appreciated a small discount on the bill or the offer of a dessert, something ‍. As a former waitress, that's what I'd have done. I'd like to also point out that we left a full tip despite the poor service. When we finally received our food our entree plates were BOTH missing big pieces on them. At that point my husband took the one with the bigger chip & pointed out he would rather eat than wait for a plate. Giving 3 stars because it's clean, and the bathrooms were very nice. The food was better than ok, but not worth the wait. We left to seek dessert elsewhere. Best of luck. We are headed back down this way tomorrow & a few more times in near future future but will not plan on eating here again. If you want to try the food I'd suggest takeout. read more

Long motorcycle ride day, A.J. to Nogales. Recently moved to AZ from OR and been looking for amazing tacos. Well, I found them, unfortunately it's a three hour drive from my house. Tacos are served plain with an extensive salsa and condiment bar at which you can make them up how you like it. This is perfect for me. This location has been several restaurants over the last 10 years. Thus far it is one of my favorites. This is a small taco shop that has a good variety of food items. They have a nice atmosphere and it looks like they probably play live music in the evenings or weekends. The décor is fresh and fun, unfortunately we went for a work lunch so we didn't have drinks. Maybe if I am there in the evening some night I will see what it's all about. There is lots of parking so I definitely recommend if you are in the area to check it out. read more

I come to Nogales for tacos all the time and I heard good things about this place. I did a to go order and I was not impressed. I had three tacos (carne asada, pork pastor, pollo asado) and the meat was very dry. The pork one came with pineapple and had a good interesting taste. I also had the buffalo chicken quesadilla. I expected the buffalo chicken to be inside of the quesadilla, but instead they threw the chicken in the container next to the quesadilla (see picture). Also they poured ranch dressing on top of the quesadilla and it was soggy by the time I got home. I would have preferred them to put the ranch dressing on the side. Fantastic bang for your buck! Have had both the steak arracherra and tonight the beef ribs. Both dishes were delicious and they were both giant servings...for very reasonable prices. T&T are more known for their tacos but frankly, these dishes both stood out. Full bar selection, outdoor seating and a drive through! Went on a drive through Patagonia and decided to drive south to Nogales. Saw this place on Yelp and was a little nervous since it shares a parking lot with Walmart and I wasn't sure what to expect. I am so glad I stopped here! I couldn't decide on which tacos to get, so I got all of them! The pollo de cilantro & pork and pineapple was my favorites (who would have thought pineapple should go on a taco?!). I also ordered a glass of horchata and a margarita. Had a full salsa bar; I would highly recommend the gold chipotle hot salsa! Food took a bit long to get to us but it was worth the wait and our waitress was so nice. This is the second time trying this place. I couldn't even eat my food which was a loaded baked potato. Give me a break. The potato wasn't done. The cheese was so hard I had to cut it with a knife and that's all that was on it. My boyfriend had a burger and said it was mediocre at best. He also ordered a root beer float that never came. And we had to go to the bar to get more water. And the bathroom is outside and not very clean. If you don't care how your food tastes and you don't like good service then this is the lace for you otherwise go somewhere else. read more

When we arrived, we asked to sit on the patio but was told it was "being cleaned." After being seated inside, we saw two people be seated on the patio within 5 minutes. Our server was nice but when I asked about the size of the tacos he said they were "street tacos. " When our "tacos" arrived, they were NOT street tacos. It looked like they just took a mission corn tortilla and plopped meat inside. The meat was dry and gross. They did have a bar with sauces and fixings to put on top of the dry tacos, but you couldn't mask the gross meat. I also ordered a margarita which tasted like they just put sweet and sour and lime juice. I swear they did not put any tequila in this drink. Overall, I couldn't wait to get out of there. Very bad customer service. The food is so delicious but the waitress are TERRIBLE. Each time we come here the staff are on the phones with tables who need service or cleaning. One waitress lied about having a item but was to lazy to help me. I asked another waitress they were able to give me what I needed. I had to walk up from my table to clean it off and ask for a refill. I wish the owners or managers would just see this! Waitresses have very bad attitudes. They were to lazy to even clean off a table that was full of mess from the previous customers this looks extremely unsanitary especially in a pandemic. The table was dirty for a whole hour until finally they cleaned the table before closing. They do not check temperatures or even greet/ acknowledge people coming in. I have to say, since Sonic...no restaurant that has opened at this location has been descent...until now. I can honestly say, Tacos & Taros is very good and I was pleasantly surprised by the service because...Nogales. They really remodeled the inside of the restaurant itself very nicely. The outdoor patio is also very nice and the bar inside is so cute. When my party of 6 arrived, we were quickly greeted and sat at a table and our drinks were brought out fast. Our server was very nice and helpful. I tried every taco but the carne asada and all of them were delish! The chicken/meat is juicy and packed with flavor. I would note though that if you order your tacos on corn tortillas, they're much smaller than the flour tortillas so you get less meat for the same price ($1.50/taco). Their salsa and condiment bar is also awesome! Tons of salsa options, taco toppings, etc. Their blended salsas are bomb! I will be back for sure. I loved the food, the service, the descent prices and the atmosphere. If they keep up with the awesome service and good food, they have nothing to worry about. read more

The food is good, but the service is terrible at best. After we ordered, it took the staff approximately 30 minutes to bring five meals. Mind you, they did not have too many people there tonight...but most of their waiting staff were having a good time eating by the kitchen area. We ordered three kids meals, all which come with a desert. Did we get our deserts? Of course not, because the waiters pretty much forgot about us. To top it all off, they informed me that their point of sale machine was not working; therefore, they could not take my card. The one friendly waiter said that the system went down after we had ordered. All in all, I hope the entire Tacos y Tarros team reads this because you seriously need to rethink your customer service strategy. It's okay . This place is never consistent . Sometimes it's awesome , half the time it's terrible. The carne Asada fries are extremely salty. The Buffalo wings way to crispy almost dry. The only thing that was good was the queso fundido w/ chorizo . We tried to order fajita sampler and the waiter saying that it would to long to make because the meat is so thick . I said why would you put it on the menu. The waiter needs to work on communication and customer service skills . Not worth the money. This business need to invest in a fly trap. So many flies , I must of swatted are least 30 trying to land in our so-so food . The restroom are located outside. The flies covered the sink and toilets . If you're expecting to eat good Mexican tacos, dont come here... taco stands is the place to go. I had the carne asada tacos and most of the meat was fat and chewy. Also ordered boneless wings and those were very dry. Seems to me they used chicken breast instead of chicken thighs. No refills on soft drinks. I would only go back for the charro beans. read more
