My friend and I were in town to try out a new Mexican restaurant, but the place was closed with no explanation. This place was within walking distance so we ate here. It looked closed from the outside. It was a Friday around 4pm and not busy at all. We had our dog with us, so we ate on the patio. Service was prompt. I had a taco salad with chicken and he had a cheese burger. We both had water to drink. My salad was good, with plenty of chicken, beans, lettuce and salsa. It filled me up. For the folks of Patagonia, please know this establishment does not respect combat disabled veterans, their families, or their service animals. On Tuesday, 7 April 2026, this establishment committed a Class 2 Misdemeanor by refusing service to a veteran, his family, and his service animal. The reason, they apparently didn't think the "dog was a registered Service Dog". Folks, there is no "registry" of service animals, nor can an establishment ask this question. Under the ADA and Arizona Statute A.R.S 11-1024, denial of access is a Class 2 misdemeanor. And, this establishment, and another in Patagonia, committed that crime. There are EXACTLY two questions that can be asked of a service animal handler. One, "is this animal required for a disability". The answer in this case was "yes". Two, "what specific task or tasks is the animal trained for". This question was answered. It's not funny, it's discrimination. Against a disabled veteran and his family. And it's illegal. If I were a Patagonian, I'd probably avoid this establishment. I mean, if they can't follow simple ADA and Arizona statutes, what else are they violating? Food safety rules? How would we know? When next in Sonoita I was going to visit Patagonia. Now I have no motivation to. In my personal opinion, protected by the First Amendment, this is not an establishment worth patronizing. We came here for dinner based on the menu that was in our weekend rental. I was looking at the daily Friday special but they just ran out of soup which was one of the sides. We ended up getting a burger and a chicken sandwich that had green chilis. We got the seasoned and crinkles fries with our meals so we could try both. The burger was cooked to a nice medium rare and it was super juicy which was great. The seasoned fries were bomb as well. I'd recommend these for sure. My chicken sandwich with green chilies was just ok. I don't think it would come on toasted sandwich type bread. It was lacking in flavor and if it had some type of sauce, it would be much better. The crinkle fries were thicker than other fries which was great. They were nice and potatoey although some were slightly undercooked, but still pretty darn good overall. read more

I sat down to order looking forward to a tasty if not healthful lunch. $16.50 and a 25-minute wait later, I was handed an overcooked cheeseburger (I asked for medium rare, they gave me medium well to well done) and limp fries. The one bright spot was that my server admitted fault for the delay and gave me a small discount; I appreciated her honesty. But I do not recommend Wild Horse and will not be returning. read more

I got tacos the first time which were good but I got a steak the 2nd time that was so tasty I can't wait to go back. I thought this restaurant was good. I had the chicken fajita wrap with coleslaw, both had really good flavor. The coleslaw was the best I have ever had. I tried the pattymelt too. The service from their manager was unpleasant, disrespectful, condescending, and rude. The managerial staff needs training on how to properly address guests upon entering the establishment. We were excited about our annual family meal we enjoy yearly at the festival after our late checkout from the Stage Stop Inn Hotel. However, when I entered a young man abruptly stopped me and asked me what I was doing. Before I got a chance to process and answer, Maria intervened rudely in a sarcastic and unnecessary tone. I let them both know my children were already seated. Then I proceeded to try and take a seat with them. Maria followed me to my table and made a scene about me not sitting with them because it was a two person table. Her tone was completely unnecessary. Lastly, upon asking the young man Marteen, who stopped me, for his name and hers, she came back into my space with an attitude, gave me her manager card and said more condescending remarks about herself and her managerial status. This is my annual birthday trip. I am totally disappointed by its ending. Her behavior was completely unnecessary and uncalled for this afternoon. I had very pleasant interactions with both bar tenders the night before and the waitresses there. I do hope this does not go unnoticed as I heard others complaining about the service today when I entered. I did not understand why until I did. Thank you for your time and understanding. I had read previous reviews about the service being slow and poor. I wasn't in a hurry and was hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Alas, my hopes were dashed this day. The food was fine. I ordered breakfast for dinner, because why not. I had to ask twice for my side order of cole slaw. Everything took forever to arrive. The wait person didn't really check back in with me to make sure I had everything I wanted. Oh yeah, and they delivered a beer which wasn't the one I asked for. Like other reviewers service was very slow however it was understandable as there was a party of 13 ahead of us. In retrospect we should have noticed that and gone elsewhere. Hubby had a burger and he said it was huge and good. I had the club and disappointed that the turkey was the cold cut kind. Like Oscar Meyers or similar. Fries and sandwich were cold. Note: there was a menu posted outside and the prices on that menu were less than the menu we were given inside. Service was not great. I am always driving around looking for different places to visit and see. I've gone to Patagonia a couple times and canr believe I never noticed this place. The hotel is nice and stands out but I never noticed the restaurant and saloon. When I saw this place open I immediately went in and loved the decor and the place is really well kept and the restaurant area looks very upscale and can't wait to try their food. I went to the saloon of course and the service was great and I loved that they had a few beers and even wine on draft and also to our luck they had free appetizers out. Our bartender was nice as was the rest of the staff. Very nice place and I recommend a stop if you are ever driving through Patagonia. read more

Friends have recommended Wild Horse so we went for lunch today. We liked the old fashioned building, inside is decorated nicely. We were the only people in the restaurant and the server seemed to be totally put out for having to serve us. Absolutely couldn't be bothered with us. Finally got our food, it was amazing. The kitchen is first rate. Our burgers were delicious. I'm wondering what the burger I actually ordered would have tasted, but the one she brought was very good. Server never once came to check on us. Never brought our bill after we were finished. We are usually excellent at tipping, this is the first time we have not left anything for a tip. Hubs and I stopped for lunch on our way through. We ordered the nachos and a hamburger with onion rings. We waited almost an hour after ordering to get our food. Nachos were okay but not great. Burger was so so and the onion rings were horrible. They were cold and so greasy that when I picked one up the grease dripped out of it.
