Heard this place was a local favorite. Thought we'd give it a try. Wasn't too busy for a late lunch. Ordered some House Margaritas & Shrimp Ceviche. Our server brought chips & salsa. Asked for pico de gallo. The ceviche came out - we started eating - No pico or Margaritas. Not very attentive. Ceviche didn't have fresh Shrimp. The Margaritas came from a pre- mix. The Guac was good. PASS

What's going on with these reviews friends, y'all not ordering the right stuff. This seafood dish was divine! It was in Chipotle sauce, so tender and flaky, with delicious refried beans that were almost puréed and delicate. This refried bean style is pretty popular everywhere in the region. Huge fan, go check out this delicious tender fish and bean dish. I'd like to try some of their other stuff next time! Loved the service, the gentleman brought too much sauce for ME to even work with, and super fantastic container of sour cream that I liberally used on everything. Here's a photo of the beautiful dish, go there, check it!

This restaurant is very small so it fills quickly. We went on a Saturday night, party of 3. There was live music which was nice, he was talented, but it was SO loud you can't have a normal table conversation. We never got drink or chip refills. Had to ask for napkins. It took quite some time for our food to come out after ordering. My food wasn't terrible but it wasn't flavorful for the price. There were definitely more peppers than (very dry) meat on my fajitas and the beans and rice had zero flavor. The flour tortillas were definitely the star of the show. Bf tried the bacon wrapped shrimp and they were AMAZING. The service was overall ok but not great.

We'd heard that this place had really good seafood so we tried it. Of the four meals we had, only one was excellent. The others, not so much. Garlic shrimp - really, really good with lots of shrimp and garlic Grilled octopus - no way this was grilled and came in small pieces Shrimp skewer - huge pieces of veggies. not good. Just look at the picture Shrimp empanadas - way, way too doughy Service was spotty at best. We had to walk over to the server for our bill. It was understaffed for the lunch rush. All in all, it was a miss.

Finding restaurants, around Tubac that are open on Monday is like pulling hen's teeth, but a friend told us about this place and we thought we'd give it a try. What a find! The margeritas were really good, and our entrees, were, spot on! I had the shrimp in mushroom sauce with onions and jalapeños. The shrimp were a good size, and perfectly cooked. The mushroom sauce, onions and jalapeño rounded out the flavor profile. The Cole slaw 2as delightfully light, providing just enough acid to balance out the shrimp and sauce. My 2ife loved the grilled fish which was well cooked and just melted in her mouth. We are eyeing the fried ice cream for dessert, and are very happy we found this place. We'll definitely be back! P. S. This would have been a 5 star review had it not been for a couple of pesky flies that just wouldn't leave us alone.

    Whole Fish, yum!!!

We have eaten here before and haven't been disappointed. My son in law and I ordered the whole fish. They really know how to cook it, done but still moist. My wife had a delicious chicken enchiladas. Our granddaghter had a shrimp taco and a shrimp tostada, very good!

Parrillada - Pictured L to R: Carne Asada, Chicken and the Shredded Beef (Deep fat fried). It also had grilled onions and Jalapeños.

I reached out on Friday hoping to find catering for a gathering on Monday morning that was set as just a graveside service in Tubac. With such short notice and so many unknowns, like the location we were still working on securing, I wasn't sure what would even be possible. Danielle immediately put me at ease. She was accommodating, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with during a stressful time. One of the biggest challenges was estimating attendance. This is a large, multi-generational family with deep roots in Southern Arizona, but because the burial was planned on such short notice and scheduled for a Monday morning, we knew attendance would be difficult to predict. Danielle allowed us the flexibility to adjust our estimated headcount and add additional servings to ensure we had enough food for everyone who attended. What impressed me most was the dedication of her team. They were up at 5:00 a.m. preparing fresh food the morning of the event and arrived with plenty of time to get everything set up before guests arrived. Their professionalism allowed family and friends to focus on gathering, visiting, and remembering our loved one rather than worrying about logistics. The food was outstanding. We chose three different meat selections for tacos, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly the authentic Sonoran-style Mexican food my husband's family has known and loved for generations. They even brought a hot plate to keep the tortillas warm and fresh throughout service. The biggest surprise hit of the day was the Watermelon Agua Fresca. It was made fresh that morning and was absolutely perfect for a warm Southern Arizona day--refreshing, light, and not overly sweet. The fresh limeade was equally delicious and a favorite among our guests and so were the homemade Churro's and cake pops. The team handled everything. They brought their own serving tables, serving utensils, chafing dishes, and equipment. They kept the line moving efficiently, served guests with kindness, and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Best of all, we had plenty of food. Nothing creates more stress when hosting a large gathering than worrying about running out, and thanks to Danielle's guidance and preparation, that was never a concern. In a small town like Tubac, businesses often become part of the community fabric. Danielle and her team exemplify exactly what that means. They stepped up on incredibly short notice, adjusted their schedules, and helped our family create a meaningful gathering to celebrate the life of JJ Gastelum. We are deeply grateful for their professionalism, flexibility, kindness, and outstanding food. If you're looking for authentic Sonoran cuisine, reliable catering, and a team that genuinely cares about their customers, I cannot recommend Sonora Mia Restaurante or the Saint Ann's Community Hall highly enough.

I've been going there for about 10 years, and without fail, their seafood is always consistently delicious. Although most of the locals are probably very aware of this small yet mighty restaurant, it's tucked away in an unassuming location - it doesn't look like much from the outside, but as they say, "Don't judge a book by its cover." I always order the large ceviche, which comes with tostadas, and I also get a side of warm tortillas. When I get that large bowl in front of me, I just can't wait to dig in. But first, I absolutely must put a couple of drizzles of their out-of-this-world made-in-house tamarind hot sauce on top of each bite. I can't begin to describe how amazing this sauce is - just a little sweet, but hot enough to burn your face off. What makes it amazing is it's flavor is so unique and complex. One time I visited, and I saw that there wasn't any hot sauce on the table. I asked the server and he said that they were in the middle of making a new batch. After telling him that I came all the way from Florida for their sauce (and ceviche, of course), the owner came by and sold me a couple of jars of the deliciousness. We had a great conversation about their food, their hot sauce, and how much love they put into their 30 year plus establishment. Back to the food - the shrimp in the ceviche is perfectly bite-sized and always tender, in perfect proportion to all of the other ingredients. The liquid is delicious enough to slurp up at the end of the bowl. I also started ordering the fried shrimp tacos the last few times I went to La Ley. A small plate comes with a simple warm tortilla and perfectly breaded fried 2-3 pieces of shrimp. Their sauces and toppings bar has everything you need to complete the taco - pickled onions, cilantro, tomatoes, onion, etc. With some of their creamy sauce and more of the tamarind hot sauce, each bite is a moment in heaven. Like the ceviche, the shrimp is tender, the breading is fluffy, not oily, and when you put together spicy, creamy, salty, sweet, and sour, you've got one of the most satisfying dishes I can think of. Clearly, I love this place. As I sit here writing this over a thousand miles away (having just visited), I wish I was back in Nogales to visit La Ley.
