I have road by I love Tacos and every time I ride by, I think I need to try them. Well, on one particular saturday, I did stop for lunch. I set at the bar and perused the menu. Like the the Name suggest, Tacos were the main entrees. I settled on a chorizo and a shrimp Taco. Both were excellent. As I enjoyed those, I thought about my next taco, but my stomach told me I was full. I chased the tacos down with a couple of adult beverages. Service was fantastic, looking forward to my next trip to try more tacos. read more

Tacos that do the job! I came here trying to take advantage of some of the Louisville Taco Week specials. I got one of each of the tacos, and they were pretty good. Not life changing, but definitely pretty good. The atmosphere is a little bit more elevated than fast casual. Definitely a chill place to come get some tacos for when the craving hits. read more

Quality of food and service has gone down. Always enjoyed their birria tacos but recently got a very watered down, flavorless soup for dip. It's normally deeper and red in color. The food was brought out and the server didn't come check on our table and it was finally only to drop off the check. The staff were welcoming when we arrived and were attentive to our table. The place is a cross between fast food and a sit down. The chicken tinga taco was very good. I also had the grilled fish taco but it was a little bland. You pay for chips and salsa but it is a good portion. read more

I'll start by saying that if I had eaten there vs takeout, my food probably would've been a bit better. My flautas were a bit soggy and the birria quesadilla wasn't as hot/cheese melty but that's on me for getting food to-go. The flautas were tasty overall though! Got the flour tortilla but they also serve corn as well. Nice toppings and the green salsa was delicious. I'd get em again if I dine in next time. The birria quesadilla was also very good too. Tender beef, cheese and some good consume but would've liked onion/cilantro IN the quesadilla too. From what I saw, the inside is nice and clean with plenty of seats, plus a full bar is always welcome. I'm looking forward to going for dinner one of these night and get a better idea of their food, service and drinks! read more

I am so very excited that I Love Tacos opened a second location down the street from me! We went to the new location last night for dinner and the staff was gracious, helpful, kind. I really enjoyed my peach swirl margarita, and the table thought the fresh guacamole and chips were the perfect starter. Food was on point. This was my first time trying birria tacos! Messy, but delicious. If you have yet to try this food trend Louisville, now is your chance. One area I see for improvement is the dining area was so open in the old Tumbleweed building, they hadn't done much to create areas of dining space and that left the ambiance feeling like a noisy cafeteria hall. Not my favorite. I hear they are planning on live music so perhaps that's why they left everything so open? Even still, it would be great to see more investment in the interior like they have in J-town so it makes for a more intimate setting. read more

This location just opened up where Tumbleweed used to be. It was my first time trying I Love Tacos and I'm obsessed. It's a fun atmosphere inside. The service was great!! We ordered drinks and an appetizer once we got there. The appetizer came out less than 2 minutes later. Our tacos came out maybe 5 minutes after we ordered. It was crazy fast!! The guacamole was pretty good. Not bad, but not my favorite. The margaritas were good but strong! I absolutely loved the battered fish taco! Birria tacos were delicious! If I could rate my experience with zero stars, I would. To sum it up, my husband and I walked out 15 minutes after being seated because we could not even get served water much less an offer to place our order! Two different workers pointed at our table to point out that we had not been served yet and still, the servers looked, nodded and walked the other way to help the larger tables who had arrived after us. Not doing it. Will not be back. My husband and I eat out 5 nights a week. If this were to become one of our go-to spots they would definitely have had returning patrons but that won't happen. We tried dinner at I Tacos and were pleasantly surprised!! We enjoyed Birria Tacos, Tostones, and Burrito Love prepared in traditional Guadalajara style which gives the food a diverse & unique flare. I Love Tacos is what Torchy's aspires to be. Fresh, well stuffed tacos on legit tortillas that are reasonably priced. Not a full TexMex restaurant, so don't expect endless bowls of chips & salsa- you'll be buying those along with chips & queso or guacamole. Still, there's a decent variety of items, we'll priced and the beer is cold. And if that's not enough, the guys who own this franchise are from San Antonio. They know good tacos. I was the only customer in there. Hostess was nice. Ordered Al Pastor tacos, they brought me steak. The cook looked liked she was working her day off and gave the corresponding table presence when bringing the right tacos. The chips were stale, but the salsa was great. 3 tacos, a house margarita and chips and salsa was $35. Not exactly a killer deal. God help me. Went for an early dinner on a weeknight. Only two tables full. Our waitress seemed to have trouble understanding us which worried me a little because we had an allergy in our party and we were trying to make sure everything was okay. The chips and queso were good...chips brought out warm. We only got pops so I can't speak to the drinks. My husband got the burrito. It was huge! He said it was good. They didn't have a kids menu so I had to ask them to make just plain quesadillas which seemed to cause confusion. My mom and I got a carne asada taco and an Al pastor taco on corn tortillas. Was in the mood for tacos and wanted to try a new place we'd never been. I love tacos wasn't far from the house so we decided to give them a try. The inside of the restaurant is very cute and aesthetic. We walked in and was immediately greeted and seated on the patio which had adequate coverings to block the sun. I ordered the asada torta with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. The bread was soft and had great flavor, and the sauce inside the torta was very good. My boyfriend ordered the chicken, steak and fish taco. He loved the steak taco, thought the chicken was good and didn't care for the fish. Our drinks were good and had great flavor and i loved the cup the el jimador was served in. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. read more

Prepare to over pay for everything here. I would give this place a solid 4.5 if just for their margaritas, which is the only thing you get your moneys worth. Every toco is far more expensive than they should do. Street tacos should usually go for 1-2 dollars, per taco however their birria tacos are $13 for two. To compare, 2 birria tacos in Riverside, CA ran me $3. Their Al Pastor falls victim to the same over use of pineapple that all Al Pastor tacos do in the area. Craving Mexican , we ordered queso and chips then two beer battered fish, one steak "carne" and one "Tinga" chicken. Nothing seemed fresh or hot.. cheese was luke warm but tasted decent. I ordered salsa to give it some flavor and it was the best part. Nice Smokey flavor, but then the tacos came. The battered fish was rubbery and mushy. I've been to the I Love Tacos in Jeffersontown but this was my first visit to the Springhurst location. It's #louisvilletacoweek so I used that as an excuse to grab lunch out. Eliza (Elizabeth) was at the counter when I came in, and took me to a booth. She was very pleasant and welcoming. She explained about the taco week specials and I had not tried any of those three tacos before so I ordered one of each; chicken tinga, Masita de puerco and vegetarian. I loved the Masita de puerco the most. It had really tender marinated pork and cilantro and onions. The tinga was shredded, juicy chicken with chipotle flavor, crema, pico de Gallo and queso fresco. The vegetarian was a good surprise. I'm a carnivore! It had mushrooms, Zucchini, Onions, Peppers, Spinach, Corn and Tomatoes, with plantain queso fresco and crema! I had all on corn tortillas and each had two tortillas to hold and administer the fun! I did also order the Elote Del Barrio; Grilled Corn on the Cob with mayo, queso fresco, chile pequin and a touch of lime juice. O. M. G. Amazing!! I'm not a Mayo person, at all, but the way it melts to this hot grilled corn on the cob and has the other flavors, it's drool worthy, it's just like the street corn we used to get in Los Angeles! I was super excited to try this. The food was okay. The restaurant is fun! The staff was very nice. My biggest turn offs were that the music (one guy playing guitar and singing) was SO LOUD. My husband and I couldn't hear each other talk. We couldn't hear the server. The food was ok. The cubano sandwich was a little dry. I had the fish and shrimp tacos. The fish was very small. It had great flavor but it had more pico on it than it did fish. The shrimp taco had 3 small pieces of shrimp on it and a boat lid of pico with very little sauce. I scraped off 75% of the pico and ate the rest with the fish and shrimp. It didn't leave much on the taco for the price. read more

Four of us enjoyed our Friday night at this restaurant. Everyone enjoyed the chips, salsa and queso - and this group has a lot of experience in that area! We would go back just for those items. We all ordered an entree and enjoyed our meal. Our server was attentive. There is a full bar but we just had soft drinks and tea. There was a musician that started playing and he was good too - the kids ran around to his music and the adults enjoyed his selections. ***I have to eat gluten-free and am very sensitive to cross contamination. Our experience was a bit shady. We had a party of 6. 2 of us ordered jumbo margaritas and 3 ordered regular ones. Our server brought out jumbos for everyone. They are pricy. I pointed the mistake out to the server and he said something like... oh those bus boys, they aren't washing fast enough so there are no 16oz glasses and kinda shrugs. When I asked if we would be charged for 32 oz when we ordered 16, he kinda shrugged again and says he'll see what he can do. What? We had a couple of apps so most of us only ordered one taco for our entrees. Server repeatedly asked each of us, just one? Only one taco? Food was just ok. Time for the bill and he doesn't print it out. Just flashes it on the tablet screen. My husband pays it. I don't want to ruin the family dinner so I let it go. We get a paper receipt and I check it out when we get to the car. While he charged us correctly for the margaritas, he added two more of them to the bill. Ugh... def won't be back. read more

Everything is a la carte making it expensive just for one taco. Your better off going to Chili's at least you get more for your money there.
