Not sure why that is, makes things a bit confusing. Anyway we came and ordered burritos, mine was made with Carnitas, black beans, cilantro rice, chile de arbol salsa, cilantro corn salsa, Oaxaca cheese, grilled peppers and onion and sour cream. came with a side of sriracha mayo and chips. Because it was Friday. Because it had been three weeks of working full-time and taking care of a toddler full-time. Because social distancing sucks (though necessary). Because so much feels big and scary. Because tequila. I margarita'ed. More specifically, I margarita'ed with take-out margs and food from Lucky Burrito. And it was just the treat I craved. Back to the margaritas -- these were the highlight of the meal. I didn't really know what to expect. Would they be too sweet? Watered down? These were neither. I got one lime and one strawberry margarita, and they came in plastic cups with lids. The server poured the mixers over ice, and then handed me two mini bottles of Casamigos Tequila to pour in when I got home. My only criticism is that the cups were originally placed in a plastic bag, and when it was barely jostled, the cups spilled a bit. Can't waste a drop! And along with tasting delicious, I loved the tequila they gave me. My husband drank some straight. It was smooth, smelled heavenly. I think we're going to find some to keep on hand at the house. For my meal I got the chicken burrito bowl, with black beans, Mexican rice, pico de gallo, avocado, cilantro corn salsa and queso fresco. This was good too, but I think it lost a bit in transport. I want to try this in the restaurant when I return when the virus shutdown is over. Ordering pick-up via Yelp was easy, and I was able to choose specific toppings for my bowl. It was ready when I arrived, and you can park right in front for free as long as it's after 6 p.m. I also appreciate that there were bottles of hand sanitizers on the bar for guests to use while waiting for their food. I will definitely be back to this place when I'm craving a reasonably priced, good burrito. They have many other things on their menu, but I came for a burrito. It's a cute place, bigger than I was picturing. We sat at the bar. Our server was a very nice girl who had suggestions and new the menu well. We ordered some chips and salsa to eat while we waited. The salsa had just the right kick. Our burritos came out hot, well put together and delicious. They aren't massive burritos so don't expect leftovers or anything. If you are super hungry I suggest ordering a couple of sides as well. But for $10, definitely worth it. read more

Wow Lucky Burrito is great! B had tried it without me a couple of times, and he had told me it was good, so recently when we were looking for a spot to carry-out we chose Lucky Burrito. I'm so glad we did! It was actually so good that we've already gotten it again since, and we'll definitely be returning again and again, because it's delicious! My favorite item thus far is the chicken burrito. It's stuffed with so many delicious items - chicken, rice, beans, salsa, guacamole, cheese, and more. It's so good! I love that it's grilled and toasty on the outside too. They offer salsa on the side, and the jalapeno is my favorite! If you like spice, but not too much heat, it has a wonderful flavor! Their carry-out service is quick and easy! When you call in your order it typically takes around ten minutes, then they'll bring the items out to your car. You can pay with a card and they'll bring the receipt out to you for signature. There's very little contact, and everything is well packaged. Quick service & good food. They have parking in the back which is always a plus for me on bardstown road. I have been here twice and the people have always been super helpful! Burritos are big enough for two, it's so packed and filled. I love their mango salsa on my tacos and honestly I could eat it with everything. If you're big on sauces, there's are the bomb. Don't eat the fries with just ketchup! The menu isn't too big nor is their drink selection but there's a bar in the next restaurant (both are connected, I believe it's the same owner?) The burritos are very good but it's kind of a hidden place within la Suerte so I'm not sure why they are separate businesses. I really wish they had a shrimp burrito I'm just a patron not an owner. I will say that the head chef of Lucky burrito and la Suerte is a true chef and not just a cook. This place is a little more on the pricey side but you get what you pay for and that is quality. The only thing that is frustrating is that often the menu doesn't reflect the actual price which is highly frustrating and should be fixed asap. It's also not really a place to bring kids if your on a budget but for feeding adults it's a wonderful spot and both serving staff and bartenders are as awesome as the food. read more

Even though I work nearby, I hadn't been to either this restaurant or its sister restaurant La Suerte since they took over the North End/Slice spots nearly a year ago. But I was craving tamales, and my favorite place for that (El Mundo) was too far for me to pop out to for lunch during the workday, so I decided to give Lucky Burrito a try. I had seen a photograph of their menu on Yelp, so I knew they offered them. The reviews were mostly positive, too. So I thought I'd give them a call and put in a carryout order to take back to the office. Well, the first red flag I ignored was the website. Instead of prices or a menu, there was a very businesslike 'Get Quote' button that seemed more suited to a hotel reservation than a restaurant carryout ('I was wondering about availability and rates. I need help with the following:'). The next part was 'Testimonials,' which took me to the restaurant's Google review page. Well, OK. There were pictures below that, under 'Gallery.' I clicked on a picture, and it took me to the beginning. I scrolled through them and clicked on one--and again, it took me to Google. At the bottom I did find a phone number, which I called. It was for La Suerte, which I guess would have been fine except that restaurant did not open until dinner, as the recording told me. More Googling. I found Seamless, a site that allowed me to order for carryout. (I have used it, or one that looks like it, for Eat A Pita, which is where I should have gone. Read on.) I placed an order for two cheese tamales (I don't know how big they would be, but I was pretty hungry and knew one would not be enough) and a habanero sauce. It was $9 even after $3.50 per tamale--I rounded up for some kids' charity, left a 15% tip (I know--to tip or not to tip for carryout?), and waited a few minutes before heading out. I parked in front of the darkened restaurant and, almost surprised the door was unlocked, walked in. It was lit only by the cloudy outdoors and empty but for a lady all by herself, preparing some food. She told me to wait a moment, and then, figuring maybe I was the only soul interested in the restaurant during what should have been a very busy lunchtime, asked me whether I was there for the carryout. I told her I was. I added that the other restaurant's number was listed; did they have one of their own? She said yes, it's La Suerte. I reiterated that I'd called and gotten a recording saying that they did not open until 4:00 (or whatever). She said she didn't have the phone with her, and that the people at La Suerte (who weren't supposed to be there for at least a couple of hours) were 'really busy' and so must not have heard the phone either. Oookay. She finished making my order and handed me a plastic grocery bag. I glanced around and saw a couple of laminated menus and asked whether she had any paper ones for carryout, and she said no, but I could take a picture of one. I told her that's how I'd seen the menu in the first place. She seemed puzzled, and I was hungry, so we wished each other a good day and parted. Back at the office, I opened the bag. Two burger-sized Styrofoam boxes. One good-sized cup of sauce. No fork, no napkin. And when I opened the boxes...well, you can see the picture. The tamales looked so sad, which made me feel kind of sad too. They looked like one tamale cut in half, with one of the halves falling apart. Apparently the cheese was missing too; perhaps it was hanging out with the utensils and napkins and telephone nobody could hear or find. And the two halves of the one tamale were bland. The sauce helped a little (and I used the whole tub), but in the end I felt cheated. And still kind of hungry. And sad. Just sad. ETA: This is me posting the next day, in a weakened state. I thought I would just leave this awful meal in the past, but at 2 o'clock this morning it came back to haunt me. I don't know what it was... but I know it came back up and down and all around. Not the way I want to spend my Friday night, even though I'd spent it quietly at home. If you think it might have been the habanero sauce, that could have been it... but it wasn't because of the spice. I am a regular habanero consumer, and I even grew ghost peppers in my garden a couple of years ago and enjoyed them well into the fall. If you offer me a Carolina reaper, I will take it. But this...this. Poor refrigeration? Unclean conditions? A sudden allergy to corn products? In any case, throw a small case of food poisoning into the mix and avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

I had planned to eat at Panchitos on Bardstown Rd around 11:30 on a Saturday morning. However, they don't open until noon. Thanks, Yelp!!! I walked down the road a short distance to Lucky Burrito to get my taco fix. It's a cheesy sounding name but 2 people had left reviews and they were positive so I decided to give them a shot. I was their first customer. The cashier/order taker said they had been open about a month. They serve burritos and tacos. That's all I remember seeing on the menu. Tacos were $2.50 each and I ordered al Pastor, Carnitas, and Chorizo tacos. You order 1 meat and 3 "fillings" plus a sauce per taco. There are 5 sauces of varying heat levels. I ordered the habanero sauce which is surprisingly the second mildest sauce. I enjoyed the sauce. The bottom line is that the tacos are small in circumference but, hey, they're only $2.50. Although they're small the ingredients were good and the sauce really made them tasty. Don't skimp on the sauce! It doesn't look like a lot in the container but it was plenty for the tacos. The tacos had the typical double tortilla base but they were fresh enough to peel the outer tortilla off and eat with only one. I like that because I can enjoy the ingredients more with just one. 3 tacos and a "regular" soft drink for $10. They have Mexican soft drinks as well. It's simple... your sign says you're open then you're open. You don't turn people away when your open sign is on and clearly shown... not to mention that your hours on Yelp indicate one time.. if they need to be fixed I suggest you adjust them so I don't drive out my way and walk in the door just to be told you're closed. read more

We moved to Louisville from Texas 4 years ago and this is the best brisket we've ever had in Louisville! We both love brisket tacos and burritos, so my husband and I had one of each. It was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend. The Queso was also perfect. We ordered from Uber Eats and the queso was still hot and amazing when it came to our door. I'm excited about this addition to the neighborhood! I've been twice now and had burritos both times. Burritos are $8.50 and come with your choice of protein, rice, beans, salsa and flavored mayo. You also get to choose 4 topping from a big list that includes veggies, cheese, guac, etc. I've been experimenting with combos and so far so good. If I had a complaint, it's that they are maybe a little stingy with the good stuff like guac and the fun mayos. Their jalapeño salsa is my favorite condiment they offer (it's blended up and has a slightly creamy texture). The salsa came on the side so I could drizzle a little on every bite. Yum! The first time I got my food to go and ate it over at Great Flood Brewery next door. The next visit my plan was the same, but Great Flood was closed so I stayed and had a draft beer with my food at Lucky Burrito. My husband and I came here for dinner one night because it's walkable and we wanted to try it out. We really enjoyed it! The ingredients were fresh and they grill the burrito so they have have nice crunchy shell. We also got the queso which was good. The only downside is they do not serve alcohol, and they do not have a fountain drink machine so you have to buy bottled drinks for $2.50 a pop. I was hoping to love this place since it's so convenient but I'm sad to say it was just alright. They did forget some of my fillings and that could've helped make the food better. Everything was ,ok, overall...despite everything tasting over/under salted. I had a smoked brisket burrito with a lg guacamole and chips. The chips were almost too salted to eat. The guacamole was fairly plain. The burrito was hard to finish at the end due to salt overdose from the burrito and chips combined.
