Pollo Bandido Chicken. Tasted like cheese sauce.
    Tracy S.

There is one bathroom. There was no soap in the bathroom. That means people who work there and people who eat there aren't using soap. I had a really hard time eating the food I ordered after that. Maybe the workers have a sink in the kitchen to wash hands. But they still have to touch door handles to get out of the bathroom and to the kitchen. The food was meh. My husband ordered two specific kinds of tacos--2 rib tacos and 1 steak. The waiter said "pastor" and I said no, he wants the rib tacos, the pork rib taco, and then the steak. The waiter then again said Pastor. I should have ordered in Spanish but don't really know how. After the order was taken I told my husband he's out of luck on trying the rib taco cause I am sure he's getting pastor. Sure enough, that's what he got. I got the Pollo Bandido. The chicken was chewy and flavorless. It was smothered in white cheese sauce. So much so that the only thing I tasted was cheese sauce. It could have been anything smothered in cheese sauce because it was the only flavor. I'd never get it again. I'd get a bowl of Queso instead. Please for the sake of humanity, buy some freaking soap.

Ok, so to be honest, I've only tried two things at this establishment. When the restaurant has tacos actually in the name, I'd be a fool not to try them. I was not disappointed. These street style tacos were phenomenal. Add in the fact that they are only $1.75 a piece, means I can eat a boat load of them. They come on the plate with just your protein choices on a double shell. All the toppings come on the side. This way you can add as much or little of whatever you like. The other item I tried was the Quesadilla Tropicana. This included well seasoned chicken, a nice blend of cheese, and pineapple. Basically I chose that because it was another cheap item on the menu that sounded good. Once again I wasn't disappointed. I came to this restaurant several times while working in town. Really good, cheap, authentic Mexican cuisine is the reason. I never tried anything else because those two were so good, I didn't want to stop eating them to bother trying anything else. The interior was clean and decorated like most other local Mexican restaurants. There's not a huge amount of menu options, but I'd say they chose a handful of things to make really good. That's better than being mediocre at making a bunch of things. I'm not sure if work will bring me back to Sedalia, but if it does, I promise I'll be trying the rest of the menu.

Really good street tacos here. My favorite was the carnitas, but the el pastor, barbacoa, and were all great too. I'll definitely come back for more. They only have bottled beverages, including water so keep that in mind. There's more on the menu than just what's in the menu too.

At first, I felt like the flavor was a bit lacking overall, but I quickly realized that most of the items seemed more like "add salt to taste." The place itself was super small and had a home-like feel. It's located in a smaller city with a mostly Hispanic and white population, so I can understand the flavor palate they may be cooking for. Overall, I would come back since it seems to be the only place in the area with decent tacos. The family that owns it was very nice, and the service was great. The pozole and salsa macha they had was super good. I'd come back just for that. If you're confused with all the clutter that how stores are in Mexico. It came with the caramelized onions as requested, on the side, but in the same wrapper as the tongue taco. The tongue was in little squares and was so incredibly tender and flavorful. I don't know that the onions were actually caramelized, but they were very well grilled and pretty perfect. But, holy moly, the torta! I got the Asada Torta, and it was not ground beef nor sliced, but little tiny pieces of chopped beef (excellent!). The sandwich was layered with mayonnaise, refried beans, lettuce and tomato, cheese, fresh avocado slices, and grilled jalapeños (or maybe pickled? They were real, and large slices, but they were not burning hot like a fresh-cut one would be. Or maybe I just got lucky, ha ha). Holy cow! I will say that I have never had a torta from a Mexican restaurant before, so this is my first, and it was fantastic - I was told it would be 10 to 15 minutes (I was sitting in my car in the parking lot when I ordered), and less than 10 minutes later a nice young man (wearing a mask, yay!) brought my order out to me, which I did not expect, but really appreciated! Each dish was in its own neatly wrapped aluminum foil, then in a brown paper bag. No Styrofoam, thank you very much! I got utensils and lots of napkins, and I needed all of them! Good stuff!

They are jumbo size, they are cooked to perfection and they have an amazing flavor. Really caught me off guard, I will be going here any time I have a wing craving. Also, I just love their chile colorado, for anyone who hasn't tried this dish and loves chili, give it a try; it has a touch of kick to it and the beans/rice with the chili (steak bits) is just perfect comfort food. Fajita nachos were standard tex-mex, not bad though. The service was good. The place looked clean.

It is a small restaurant (possibly a converted fast food place) that has been modified and decorated to fit the part. The bar area consists of horse saddles for bar stools which was a nice feature. The night I went there was (I believe) only one waitress who was hustling. I was seated and quickly brought chips and salsa. The salsa had a slight hint of heat and the chips were pretty good. I usually order a combo plate when at a new place. I found them near the back of a very extensive menu. Instead of picking from a list of items they gave each possible combination spelled out. I was hoping for a taco, enchilada and rellano combo but rellanos are not included in the combos. I went with a taco, 2 enchiladas and rice. Apparently these only come ground beef. I tried to get carnitas for my tacos and ended up with a side dish of tacos. In the end the food tasted good. My margarita seemed heavy on the mix and easy on the tequila. In the end this was fine for small town Mexican. I would have rated it higher had the combo portion of my dinner not been the standard ground beef.
