It came with the caramelized onions as requested, on the side, but in the same wrapper as the tongue taco. The tongue was in little squares and was so incredibly tender and flavorful. I don't know that the onions were actually caramelized, but they were very well grilled and pretty perfect. But, holy moly, the torta! I got the Asada Torta, and it was not ground beef nor sliced, but little tiny pieces of chopped beef (excellent!). The sandwich was layered with mayonnaise, refried beans, lettuce and tomato, cheese, fresh avocado slices, and grilled jalapeños (or maybe pickled? They were real, and large slices, but they were not burning hot like a fresh-cut one would be. Or maybe I just got lucky, ha ha). Holy cow! I will say that I have never had a torta from a Mexican restaurant before, so this is my first, and it was fantastic - I was told it would be 10 to 15 minutes (I was sitting in my car in the parking lot when I ordered), and less than 10 minutes later a nice young man (wearing a mask, yay!) brought my order out to me, which I did not expect, but really appreciated! Each dish was in its own neatly wrapped aluminum foil, then in a brown paper bag. No Styrofoam, thank you very much! I got utensils and lots of napkins, and I needed all of them! Good stuff!
