Grabbed some quessobirria tacos and they cooked them fresh to order with plenty of onions and cilantro. I would have to assume the consome would come with the tacos but it does not. The service was a great experience, everyone was nice and fast at getting orders prepared. It's a small walk in standing room only type taco spot but outside they do have covered tables with seating available.
Another epic taco spot to add on your list of places to eat at in CDMX in the Condesa neighborhood. When we went they were only doing pork tacos which were phenomenal. They have a wonderful salsas bar in the back that has jalapeños, onions, green and red salsas and limes. Tips: they accept credit cards, outdoor seating, birria tacos on weekends only. This is a great place to get food and nearby the museums, botanical garden, Parque Espana and Parque Mexico.
Legit taco spot in Condesa. You'll know because there's a long line out the door of this small corner eatery. Clean, well organized and the best quesabirria tacos I've ever had. Ordered two of those bad boys along with a costilla taco. The costilla was a meaty rib served on a tortilla. Very tasty and juicy. Lots of other meat options to choose from, many of which I've never heard of before. Stopped by the day after and the menu actually changed! Got two quesabirrias along with the costilla and an horchata for 10 bucks. Great deal for great food.
Seriously phenomenal cheese Birria tacos. The arrachera tacos were my other favorite but honestly, you really can't go wrong with whichever taco you decide to munch on. The meats are seasoned and cooked to perfection. You walk in on the main side of the street and walk up to the counter where you give your order to the person behind the counter while someone else writes it down on a receipt. Give your whole order including drinks so it's all included on the receipt. Then walk a few steps to your right to the cashier where they take cash and credit cards. This place is small but worth the visit. There is some outside seating/tables, as well as outside counter space but be prepared to eat standing. Also, be prepared to line up for these tacos, you won't regret it.
I was in Mexico City for a quick 5-day trip and ate at Tacos Don Juan twice because it was just that good. The first day I went (a Tuesday), they had their "standard" menu. I tried the al pastor and the arrachera (skirt steak) tacos both with cheese and they were phenomenal. They toss the meat and cheese on the flat top before adding it to the tortilla so the cheese is melted and just a little crispy to give the taco a great texture. The second day I went (a Friday), they had a carnitas menu available. This was the first place I've seen that let you specify what part of the pig you want. I ordered the maciza + cuero (pork butt + pork rind) and a ribeye "costra de queso" which is where they crisp up a bed of cheese and use it as the tortilla. Some of the other carnitas options they had available were: - Costilla = rib - Chamorro = leg - Trompa = nose - Oreja = ear - Lengua = tongue - Surtida = mix of all the meats The carnitas were absolutely delicious. They also have a selection of lime, onion, and salsas to doctor up your tacos however you see fit. The costra de queso was good for a few bites, then got a bit too salty as I ate more just because the tortilla was made of cheese. It felt like a dish that Taco Bell would love to get its hands on. I would recommend sharing one costra between 4 people. You order at the counter, eat, and then pay at the end. Seating was outside with plenty of tables, all with umbrellas so it was a protected from the elements. The atmosphere was casual but with a proper storefront in the cute La Condesa neighborhood. I am dying to try their birria tacos so will absolutely return again next time I'm in Mexico City.
Woah. Go. There. Now. We were in a line at 12pm on a Saturday. The quesabirria is the #1 taco I have had in my life. Just get it and get the consommé that comes with it. Stand outside, dip your taco into the yummy consommé, and smile with your eyes closed. It's so effing good. The green sauce is fresh and good to put on top as well. The service is so nice especially to a non speaking Spanish girl.

Excellent tacos got the quesa birria which was nice moist meat although but greasy but to be expected from quesa. Easy spot while staying in Condesa and seeing this place recommended on YouTube. Price was good, limited seating but spot turned up at outside bar table. Nice place to watch dogs on way to park. read more
It was on the Pujol recommendation list. We tried 2 - Lengua and Pork Rib I think. It was fine. Maybe should have ordered the cheesey one? They just chopped up the meat and serve, so the tacos were warm, would have been much better if they were heated. read more

My first taco spot in Mexico and it was really good. Tons of options like tortas, vampiros, and classic tacos, plus a wide variety of meats. Everything had great flavor and solid texture. The salsa bar was also very good and added a lot to the experience. Not the most English-friendly place, but it's easy enough to get by if you try. Service: Straightforward and efficient, limited English but manageable Food/Drinks: Excellent flavors, good textures, wide meat selection, strong salsa bar Ambiance: Extremely long line usually 9/10 Delicious tacos with great variety and flavor, an excellent first taco stop in Mexico read more

WOW. Had to wait in line a bit but the food (and the smells from the grill) were worth it. Very friendly, jovial guys behind the counter and the seating is outdoor only. They also have a salsa/con todo bar set up for toppings and sauces. read more

While the tacos were good, it wasn't anything to write home about, especially given there are about a trillion options in Mexico City. Like other reviewers said, these were fat tacos so be prepared to be quite full afterwards. read more

Great quality and beautiful work! The owner lady is kind and speaks great English. First you order at the counter and get the tab and pay at the cashier. Limited outside stand to eat. That is minus. But good price for this yummy tacos. No wonder people flock. read more

Order at the counter and they hand you a paper to pay to the right of the kitchen. They have a handful of tables outside. Al pastor and suadero tacos are juicy and they really pack it full of meat. read more

Tacos Don Juan serves up the best street tacos in CDMX. Change my mind. TL;DR Version: - Delicious AF. Packed with authentic flavor. - Wide variety of tacos - Affordable. More tacos for your pesos. Long Winded Version: Food: 5/5 The tacos were seriously delicious. Tacos Don Juan set the standard for tacos during my trip to CDMX and many other taco spots I visited after fell short of that benchmark. The tacos are packed with flavorful meat topped with traditional additions. Location: 5/5 The neighborhood is really chill and great for a mid-day stroll. There's a park nearby so you can walk off the taco goodness and appreciate the greenery around you. There's also a dope tattoo shop down the block and some amazing fish tacos directly across the street at El Pescadito. Atmosphere / Ambiance: 4.5/5 No thrills here. It's a pretty small spot where you'll have to enjoy your tacos standing up. That might be for the best because these babies aren't for those who want to look cute while eating. Toppings and meat will be falling out with most bites but that's to be expected with street tacos. Price / Value / Quality: 5/5 For less than $15 (usd) I was able to get a plethora of tacos. A smorgasbord of deliciousness if you well. I tried so many different types that I didn't really even know what I was eating. I knew two things: these tacos were delicious and they were all going into my mouth. The flavor is amazing and everything is fresh and authentic. read more
Best taco I had in CDMX. This place should be on everyone's list. We went at noon and waited about 5-7 minutes in line. The Quesabirria was everything we hoped for and a local showed us to dip it in the consume (which had such deep rich flavors you could drink it up). The pork taco was also good, but I'd rather order 2 quesabirria's and call it a day! Make this a stop on your food tour! Also, don't skimp on the avocado salsa. It was a hit! read more
Best tacos I ate on my trip. Hands down. I don't know what meat I ate but it was delicious. The salsa was spicy and super good. The quesadilla was yummy with the cheese browned. This is one place I want to not write the review for because the line was already long and it might get longer . Definitely a must visit because this is legit, compared to so many places pretending to be something in condesa read more

AMAZING tacos!!! Best tacos we had during our trip here. They do have an English menu as well to help. Generous helping of juicy meats. What we ordered: suadero, arranchera con longanisa (brisket and sausage), longanisa alone, al pastor and chicharrone. You can choose beans or rice with the taco - we got rice for all. Sauces on the side - avocado is delicious and not spicy. Best tacos for a great price! Out of the above our favorite was the suadero! No real seats, just stand and eat or find a small bench nearby. Definitely worth the trip. El Pescadito is across the street too for fish tacos! Closed the day we came. But Taco Don Juan more than made up for it!!! read more

Tacos Don Juan is the second place in La Condesa I recommend going to for tacos. The other - El Pescadito - is conveniently located right across the street. Tacos Don Juan is one of those legit hole-in-the-wall taco places you look for while in Mexico. Each person steps up, orders whatever meat they have available at the time, and then eats standing up. It's not a huge production like some other places but it is damn good. My girlfriend and I got some tacos at El Pescadito across the street and seeing Don Juan as well, we knew we would be filling up there with the carnitas and costilla. The costilla was the best of the two and it was really neat to see the guys behind the counter taking orders, picking the meat from their huge pile and then chopping it up before handing it over. It's a really neat experience if you're used to the regular assembly line of tacos we have in America. This place is a must eat if you are in the neighborhood! read more

Tacos Don Juan is a must try for tacos. No frills about it, just really solid tacos that have you eating everything off the plate. I've been told that if there's a line, that means it's worth eating at. Tacos Don Juan is no exception to this. There's not a ton of seating, but I would gladly stand to eat these! read more

Possibly the best tacos I've had so far...ever. I was in taco-bliss during those four tacos. Simply amazing and not to be missed if in La Condesa. This is an authentic whole-in-the-wall joint. There is no seating area - you eat at the counter. They make your tacos and you pay after you are done....this can get dangerous as I started off with two and added two more after! Give it a try if you are in the area and want unpretentious tacos! read more

These were some of the best street tacos I've ever had! I didn't feel like cooking and saw this truck and decided to try it! I just got tacos but they added grilled onions and a grilled jalapeno. Don Juan's is as authentic as it gets, with two guys behind the counter chopping up the meats. They have daily meat specials and on the day we went, they had carnitas and costilla, both of which were delicious! They have an assortment of toppings and sauces-my favorite was the guacamole salsa verde. Highly recommend!! read more
