I've been wanting to try this place for a while, but was hesitant because I'm pescatarian and they don't have too many options for me. Veggie tacos are typically lackluster but this was definitely not the case here. The cheese and salsa were a great touch. I also really liked their corn tortillas. I enjoyed the vegetable taco more than the "the flor de calabaza", but even that one wasn't bad. The esquite was also tasty. I will definitely be back!

Best tacos ever. Offers a variety of other Mexican snacks and treats. Will definitely come again. It's an outdoor food stall with lots of outdoor seating. Once you order your food, you get a buzzer and pick up your food at another window. Tacos come with a few cucumber slices and radishes and two sauce packets. Love how each taco got its own lime wedge. 1. Chicken tinga (5/5): never had chicken so juicy. hard taco shell was the move. Good cheese too. 2. Al pastor (4.8/5): Sweet and juicy pork meat. Definitely worth. 3. Carne Asada (4/5): Super tasty, first non dry carne asada I've had in a while. 4. Hot Cheetos Esquites (4/5): A tad bit watery but still super yummy and delicious. Serving was a bit small for my liking but its ok:)

Very good taco spot in Silver Spring MD. Their tacos taste pretty authentic. If you like corn, do not skip out on their elote! This location started opening up earlier at 6:30am to serve breakfast. Hot chocolate was okay.

We ordered online, but after being able to check in with the cashier. They were able to get it ready for us faster than the expected time! THANK YOU! We got 2 orders of 3 different tacos. The birria tacos are hands down delicious! It comes with the birria stew which you use to dip your taco in. It is a little messy, but what food doesn't come with a little bit of a mess? If you're not afraid to get your hands dirty, this is a must-try! Their al pastor was delicious as well! It's on the sweet side with pineapples and a must-try. I was definitely a fan of their green sauce as well! There's lots of seating, even though parking can be a little confusing in front of their trunk. But there are many different parking spots available apart from that. The staff was very kind, I'm just grateful again for the service!

Tuesday 3/4/25 I made a call for takeout, and the phone service could've been better, but luckily the in-person service I experienced was a lot better. I got the birria con consommé quesadillas $16, al pastor taco $3.65, carne asada taco $3.65, tinga de pollo taco $3.65, pineapple: agua Fresca $3, mangonada $6, pastel de tres leches $4.50, and the Oreo mousse cake $4.50. Just some notes before we get to the food: I made the call in order at 12:07 pm and the food was ready by 12:40 pm, I was looking forward to the churro cheesecake but it was out of stock, and lastly I should've been charged $10.75 for the 3 tacos meal but instead they charged me individually for each taco. - The birria con consommé quesadillas were GOOD and fairly priced. The quesadillas were cheesy, the birria meat was good, and it paired very well with the consommé. - The Al pastor taco was alright and I'd probably rank it as the second best taco of the three. - The carne asada was decent and easily the best of the 3 tacos. Steak tacos done well are always good. - The tinga de pollo taco was the weakest of the 3 tacos, the chicken had no flavor. - The pastel de tres leches (with cinnamon) surprised me as it was one of the better tres leches desserts that I've had and it's only $4.50. - The mangonada was an experience (to say the least) as it was my first time having one. I best describe this as an acquired taste because it's popular, but I wasn't a fan. - The Pineapple: Agua Fresca was mediocre. It was watered down, and the pineapple flavor I was looking forward to was not present. - The Oreo mousse cake was alright, but I wouldn't get it again. My experience at Tacos Don Perez was mostly good, and I would be open to coming back to try more items. Hopefully, the churro cheesecake will be available next time.

I'm kind of sad that I found this place. Since it's really close to my gym, I have a feeling that I might undo my workouts by stopping at Tacos Don Perez for a post-workout meal. Tacos Don Perez is pretty much a large, outdoor taco stand that has a great variety of tacos and other Mexican dishes. For my order, I went with three tacos (I forget which ones I ordered). Overall, I thought my tacos were perfectly prepared. After finishing the tacos, I wished that I had ordered a few more. Also, the prices is pretty much on par with other places in the area. I believe my three tacos were about $11. If you visit outside of regular lunch hours (or before the kiddos are dismissed from school), the service is pretty fast. However the lines can be a bit long, which I guess confirms that this is a good place for tacos. The only downside to this spot are: 1. It's outdoors, so it probably will not be fun to eat here during the winter. 2. It's in a parking lot near a gas station, so you might smell a bit of gas while consuming your tacos. I definitely plan on returning to try more things from the menu.

This place is like a hidden gem. It's stationed outside a small gas station and the first time I couldn't find it. Saturday afternoon was pretty chill as there were tables filled with customers. Not fully packed but just enough. We ordered a half tray of the lengths tacos. Two refreshments, Pineapple & tamarind! We didn't have to wait long for our order as we just sat down at one of the picnic tables they had set up outside. Food tasted yummy. The drinks made everything better together. Will definitely have to come back to try the elotes!!

I ventured to the Tacos Don Perez trailer and, as expected, found a line of folks waiting for some genuine Mexican flavor. But the line moved quick and I found myself driving home with a cheese quesadilla, veggie torta, and a special dessert of sliced strawberries and bananas over pancake balls. The first thing you'll notice at TDP is that everything is HUGE! The cheese Quesadilla barely fit into the container, and this was after it was wrapped in half. The quesadilla alone could have fed my entire family. And it was delicious! Not too greasy, very cheesy, and they gave plenty of salsa/sauce to spread over it. The veggie torta was also GINORMOUS, stuffed full of mushrooms and assorted veggies, crisp and fresh, again with plenty of sauces to spread around. The dessert was a nice finishing touch, but we were so stuffed, we couldn't finish it - save for later! Tacos Don Perez is the bomb - you want BIG Mexican flavors, you can find it in the trailer. Definitely coming back to this place. You should give it a try!

I'm all about supporting small and upcoming businesses. Their food is worth at least 4 1/2 stars.I was excited to see this taco place right around my job and have ordered from them numerous times before. Today I Ordered a set of three tacos al Pastor. When I went to pick up, I wanted a watermelon agua fresca. I was told that they had a five dollar minimum requirement. I explained to the young lady at the register that I had done an order online and it does not give an option to purchase drinks. Just food. She wasn't very friendly and didn't seem to care so I just left it at that. As a consumer, I feel sometimes exceptions can be made. Especially if I had already superseded the five dollar minimum. Anyhow, had to make my way to CVS to go get something to drink. Too bad. I deal with numerous businesses in the area and know how these merchant machines work. Normally when there's a minimum requirement it's because that particular business has to pay more interest on lower dollar purchases. So it's really not that they can't accept lower than five dollars it's just they won't. Shame read more

We decided to try this place out after hearing about it online. It did NOT disappoint!! Everything we had here was delicious. We tried three different tacos (carne asada, Tinga, and chorizo), the elote, and the churro cheesecake. I would recommend it all! It was delicious and reasonably priced for how much you get. The tacos are a bit more expensive than elsewhere but they do not skimp on their fillings. Definitely check this place out!! read more

The last time I was there I order a family portion size of Birria tacos; the tacos were over cooked, the cheese they used kind of tasted like soap. The cosume also kind of tasted like soap. I don't understand why they have 5 star ratings. It doesn't taste like authentic tacos. I've been on the search for authentic tacos in this area and was very disappointed by these, especially for the price. I also order some of their agua frescas and was not impressed for the price. read more

These folks don't really break down what they are charging you for. And when they make suggestions, they don't specify what changes they made to your order. Their tacos are hard and dry. And they are extremely expensive. I have had better birria tacos for less. read more

On the hunt for FANTASTIC Tacos? This is definitely the place! We had the tray of 6 tacos, in addition to Elote, Agua Frescas, (Both Pineaplle and Watermelon) and the Tres Leches Cake. EVERYTHING was better than the last thing:) I can happily say these are the BEST tacos I've ever had!!!! Everything was super fresh, the perfect amount of spice, and the customer service was good too. They give you a choice of cinnamon or raspberry drizzle on your (very excellent) Tres Leches! I was certain that someone's Abuelita was back there making it :) The have very clean and shaded outdoor seating, and I can not wait to go back. A definite 10/10. read more

Best authentic Mexican street food in the DMV area, hands down. The birria tacos with consommé are better than any other I've had in the area. The tortilla was perfectly fried. Hot Cheetos elote was great as well. Pineapple agua Fresca was refreshing, but a little too sweet for my liking (would've preferred a little tartness to maintain the natural pineapple taste). I kept seeing birria tacos on my social media pages, and was looking for a place that sold them. An acquaintance of mine posted a photo of her food on her Instagram story, and everything looked so good, so I had to give it a try. Came here with a friend and had a really nice experience. My friend is a vegetarian and really enjoyed her food which I feel like shows just how accommodating Tacos Don Perez is. It's hard sometimes to find meat substitutes that give the same flavor. I don't eat beef or pork, so I got the chicken birria tacos and I thought they were delicious. They offer seats outside of their truck, and they also offer drinks. I will definitely be coming back for more birria tacos, and I'm looking forward to trying the elote as well! read more

One of the yummiest taco places on md!! Their birria tacos and quesadilla are so bomb. Consome is a must if you're getting any taco or quesadilla. I love the al pastor tacos. The hot Cheeto elote wasn't that good, I would probably just get the regular elote next time. Such a vibe just eating great tacos and sitting outside the taco truck listening to music. Tacos don Perez is the most amazing exquisite taco place I've never had in my twenty one years of LIFE. If you haven't been yet, you are simply disrespecting yourself. The taste and flavors are breathtaking, literally you will stop breathing after every bite. The flavors will really take you to another dimension. History

Established in 2017.

Tacos Don Perez started as a small weekend catering company until May of 2020. We started selling tacos to support ourselves after losing our jobs during the pandemic, and eventually were able to purchase our own food truck. Our community has been our biggest blessing with all the support they’ve shown us every single week. We hope to share a taste of our culture and welcome everyone to our truck!

We stopped at Spawood Cellars for some beers and they usually have a food truck so why not have pizza and beers??? The pizza is sumptuous. The fresh dough was so good. I'm usually not a crust person but I gobbled it up. Ha. I also have a picky three year old who will not try anything new. He loved it. My little man ate three slices! They are not small slices for a three year old. My daughter also enjoyed it. If food trucks were lined up , this would definitely get my business. Two thumbs up. My favorite thing was the corn, it was really delicious. The interior is decorated and the service is fast and friendly. You order at the front and they give you a beeper that rings when it's ready. They offer lots of fun drinks & sides that I want to try out next!

The Skillet Cornbread is the best I've had, slightly sweet with a good corn flavor that made me decide to buy a WHOLE skillet rather than just the generously portioned slice next time, especially since it's such a good value. I've been a loyal customer of Tacos Don Perez and Glenmont since COVID, but tonight's experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I placed an order intended for the Glenmont location, but it was accidentally sent to the Kensington location. While Ken's was kind enough to answer the phone, they made it clear they couldn't take responsibility for an order meant for another branch. The most upsetting part is that no one at the Glenmont location is answering the phone, despite several attempts to call. I'm just trying to speak to someone who can help, but there's no response and no accountability. As someone who has supported this business for years, it's frustrating to feel like I'm being ignored and left without a solution.
