My last order of asada fries were so bland and cold the cheese didn't even melt. The fries were so hard like they were old or fried twice. The asada was so dry it had the texture of jerky. The green sauce was so watered down it was literally green water. Not sure what happened but they really need to get back to the way they were, before people stop buying food here. I have a couple of suggestions for the owner: make a spicier sauce for those who like it hot and maybe improve the aguas frescas. Welcome to Beaumont's newest taco shop. While this place is little hole in the wall, it's comfortable enough to sit there and enjoy a meal. I got the carne asada nachos. I don't mind the can cheese, but I generally prefer fresh cheese. The meat was the standout on this dish. You can taste the char of a real grill versus just being cooked on a flattop. The owner Sergio, was present and was able to answer the million questions my husband always has. My husband had chorizo and chicken tacos. The chorizo was really good and the chicken just meh. He also had the vampiro chorizo and al pastor. He liked all these but thought it was a little pricey in comparison to other local joints; however, they were also better flavor wise. We didn't wait long after we ordered to get our food, however, when she sat our tacos down, she couldn't tell us which were Al Pastor and which were Carne Asada. She said they both look similar. This review is for their catering services. I was so excited to book Tacos El Cheko for my reception. They were easy to book and responsive. However, I had to prompt for an updated invoice every time we added items to our event menu. And, still I never got the exact invoice that showed the deposit I had paid which was worrisome. A week before the event, I requested half an hour earlier start time and got confirmation about the start and set up times. When they were late for set up I called the contact number I booked with and was given attitude and they didn't recall the new start time. Luckily the staff that arrived was flexible and set up quickly once there. Then it only got more complicated and stressful during our reception. They did not have the vegetarian options we added months ago, and didn't have a solution other than quesadillas for the vegetarian guests (we ordered potato tacos). As well, I had added utensils and plates (which I confirmed three times via email) and we didn't learn they forgot those until it was time to eat. A guest had to run to the store to get them. The most frustrating of all, I had asked about portion sizes since it was a pretty affordable service. I was told "we have never run out of food, don't worry". With about 15 guests left in line for food, they didn't have rice or pork left. Mind you, I had not eaten yet either. I understand mistakes happen, but I had triple confirmed the services and was still left to stress and come up with solutions during my reception. The owner and employee did not offer to get utensils, plates or vegetarian tacos when they were missing. And, they said we were given a discount but we paid the original invoiced amount. The food itself was tasty but if I had known what stress this was going to be, I wouldn't explored another option. read more
