I've always passed by this place and finally decided to try it. It was decent but I thought it was pricey compared to other taco places. Because they are street tacos you need a few to fill up. So my total added up pretty fast. I ordered three different types of tacos and a burrito so we could all taste test and try different things from this place. The flavors were just average. Nothing special. I asked if they had a burrito with avocado or guacamole but she said no. I like flavors and sauces. I wish they had more to the food or options to add. If I was hungry and in that parking lot I would maybe go back but it's not something I would crave and have to have again. And I highly dislike being charged extra money to pay by credit card. I came in for the first time because I had been craving a breakfast burrito. Quick google search pointed me in this direction. 10/10 The staff were great! The girl at the register was patient while I decided which meat option (there's plenty). The lady sweeping and cleaning the tables was friendly. It made you feel like you're in your Tia's kitchen. For the burrito you get to pick between traditional ham, bacon, chorizo or any of their meats like asada, al pastor and such. I went with ham mainly cus I was overwhelmed but I am not disappointed. It's a huge portion! It has egg, potato, your choice of meat, onion, cheese and salsa. The best part is that it's seasoned. One of my issues with breakfast burritos is that the eggs and potatoes are always bland but not here! Salsa has a good kick to it (not spicy). I will definitely be coming back! The portions are generous, the quality is so fresh, everything is expertly made by true artisans. This is one of my new favorite restaurants. It's casual and clean. I was in the mood for Mexican, but always looking for some new gem here in the SFV, so I took to yelp and near the top was Tacos El Cosas. Since it wasn't far, and based on the good reviews, I decided to give it a try. Located in the same mall as a 7-11 at the corner of Devoshire and Topanga just past Los Toros if you're heading West on Devonshire. Keep your eyes peeled, because you could drive right on buy it if you're not paying close attention. The place was pretty much empty considering it was around 7PM or so. The staff was courteous. I oped for the Carne Asada French Fries, and my wife a variety selection of steak and chicken tacos. Both were totally delicious and we cleaned our plates. I walked into the restaurant with $25, I figured that would be enough for lunch for two people, It wasn't, I had to go back and get $5 from my car. Not a single soul in there, that should have been a red flag. Lol. Apparently, I got charged an additional $2.95 because I ordered lengua taco instead of whatever they wanted to give me. I didn't get a receipt, I only found out because I asked why it was so much. Food: not a fan. I've had way better tacos at the taco truck. My boyfriend was completely dissatisfied. I ordered the burrito and taco combo, and four tacos, one horchata and one Fanta. A bit salty and lacked carne asada flavor on the burrito, I think the carne asada was at least two days old. The tortillas seemed like they were just taken out of the plastic bag and not put on the grill to soften them up. My boyfriend said they were stale. Sadly, the meat was not fresh. The side of grilled onions was done in old oil, you can taste it.. so it had a really bad old oil after taste. Oohh.. plus, they charge you $2.95 for the avocado salsa!!! For less than 2oz!!! INFECTED MEAT - Diseases. They gave me infected meat on July 3rd, 2019. I got shigellosis after my boyfriend brought home 5 of their carne asada tacos. It took 2 1/2 days to show the symptoms but I am experiencing extreme abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea + blood. It hasn't been a great week with this intense pain, my stomach is inflamed, which causes gastritis - pain in stomach, indigestion, heartburn, loss of appetite. My intestines are inflamed, which causes: bleeding ulcers that cause blood to show up in stool, pain, cramping, bloating & painful digestion. This place needs to be shut down before they spread more virus's. Always remember, you don't know who's hands prepped/made your food, you don't know if they washed them, & if the animal was infected prior to cooking/consumption you don't know if they cooked the entire infection out of the animal. read more

If you are going to charge a $1.00 fee to use a credit card for bills under $12.00 dollars. The establishment should verbally state that fact ! Now for the food, I had a burrito, it was fine. Nothing bad to say about it. Also nothing great to say about it. I am just concerned that the fee should be called when they are as high as a dollar for the use of a credit card. The tacos are fine, the rice and beans are fine, but these tacos cost about triple the market rate. I've been going for years, and I've never gotten three tacos and rice & beans for anywhere near even $10. An example: I recently went in and ordered a three taco combo and a can of soda, which ran me $14.96 or so. I then received, despite having ordered a combination, just three tacos (plus the soda). I walked out stunned, but came back a few minutes later (I had walked next door to grab something else), and when I explained in Spanish (in order to minimize the chance of a misunderstanding) the mistake, I was charged $5.75 for a full side of rice and beans, instead of just the difference, bringing my total to close to $21, or close to $24 with tip. For three decent tacos, a side of rice and beans, and a can of soda. This place is solid, and they are open late (until 11pm) which is a big plus for the Northwest Valley. There aren't many late night choices in the the Chatsworth area and I don't do fast food, so I was happy to find Tacos El Cosas open after finishing a night mountain bike ride in the area. I was really hungry after my ride so I ordered 4 tacos with rice and beans. I eat a lot of Mexican food, and always order a Carne Asada Taco, Carnitas Taco, and a Pastor Taco with rice and beans when trying a a mexican restaurant for the first time. I can learn a lot about a place from this order...quality and seasoning of the meat, whether they are generous in their portions, etc. I was extra hungry so I did a 3 taco combo, plus added an additional Pastor taco. Tacos El Cosas did not disappoint! They are generous with the amount of meat they put in the tacos and the flavor was good. The carne asada was chopped into small pieces, but not too small and it had good flavor. The carnitas was cut into medium sized pieces, and although the meat is good quality there isn't a lot of flavor. Note, that I order the tacos plain so I can really taste the meat. The carnitas was still good though as I ate it with the rice and beans. And finally the Pastor tacos were really good! I really love the flavor of their Pastor! Very moist and not too spicy. Their are some grilled onions mixed in that add a layer of sweetness as well. I have been back several times, usually eating there, but sometimes taking the food to go, and the place is consistent. In fact, I am slightly addicted to the Pastor Tacos. The burritos are really big and filling as well. Another item which I haven't seen at other places is the Nopales con Huevos. This is eggs scrambled with cactus paddles and potatoes. It also comes with rice and beans and is a great value at $5.50. This is a breakfast item (I hear that breakfast is the busiest time for this restaurant), but they always make it for me at night when I ask. I really love this dish! The cactus has the look and consistency of grilled green pepper slices, and the flavor is unique. Take the bitterness away from a green pepper and give it a slight tartness...it is hard to describe, but so good! I highly recommend this, and it's a good sized meal in itself. The restaurant is brightly lit an clean. They have a TV playing Novellas and the decor is very basic. There are several maps on the wall and some old photos. First off the impression I get is if you are not of Hispanic descent they obviously don't care about your business.
