We love coming here! I will say that it's important to count your tacos especially if you order a lot and if it's busy. They were short one taco on our most recent trip here :(

Ordered pick up today. Got the birria burrito, birria quesataco and asada fries. Order was ready when I arrived. There was a few people waiting and so it wasn't too busy. I asked for sour cream on the side and they charged me extra for the sour cream. Maybe they gave me extra because there was two. There was a bone in my birria burrito and I ordered the burrito supreme with sour cream on the side but they gave me a regular burrito. I'm guessing that's where the extra sour cream came from. The food and overall experience was a solid 4. I'm sure they will get better with time and I'm guessing the incorrect order was due to miscommunication. I will definitely try them again for taco tuesday.

    Asada fries

if you haven't tried the asada fries from El Cuatrero Tacos, you're missing out. The fries are crispy, the carne asada is juicy and packed with flavor, and they don't hold back on the toppings. It's the kind of meal that hits just right, especially when you're hungry or just craving something good! Also gotta give a shoutout to the staff, super friendly and very helpful. They make you feel welcome the second you come, and the service is always quick and on point. Good vibes all around. Definitely one of my favorite spots now. 10/10

Tried it this place for the first time since it had a Taco Tuesday special of $1.50 per taco for birria, asada, carnival, pastor and one other flavor. I ordered the birria, asada, and Pastor. The birria and Pastor were good. Need to check if they give you consume eith the birria tacos or if you have to pay extra for it next time i come. The asada was not as good as the other two, but if give it another try again next time. We also ordered the mega fries. It was good. Fries were crunchy. They didn't over do it on beans. Meat portion was decent. The green sauce was delicious in the tacos. The guy that took the order was nice and helpful. They take cash and card which is wonderful. I didn't know you could call in an order and will do that next time to save on waiting time. Parking is in the Carl's Jr. lot. Will definitely come again.

Ordered 3 carna asada tacos and Burria combo plate with 3 birria tacos and beans & rice. The rice tasted like store bought, beans were very thick, and it was tacos with birria meat, not toasted and no consommé. It was ok, but not the best for sure. They gave us a red sauce, very bland, and a green sauce that had a bit of flavor but def no spice to it.

    Quesa birria

I've tried all of their tacos and they're pretty good overall. The Quesa Birria is definitely the standout -- packed with flavor and something I'd come back for. They used to have Taco Tuesday deals at $1.50 a taco, which was awesome, but prices have gone up so I don't go as often anymore. Still, the food quality is solid and worth a stop if you're craving tacos in the area.

Asked for no onions and got extra instead.

The tacos are decent not great but for $1.50 what can you expect. But I've tried this place twice and twice they've gotten my order wrong. The first time I was missing tacos and the second time after waiting 35 mins for my food I ask them only to find out they gave my order to someone else so I had to wait another 25 mins just to get back to realize they got my order wrong again. I asked for no onion. Spent extra time removing them. Not worth it.

There is no visible pricing. The prices are given after you place yhe order. $18 regular sized burritos. Waaayyyy overpriced.

I came for lunch Friday afternoon around noon with 3 others and it was pretty busy as it was peak lunch time. You can tell it's a popular spot. You order at the counter first and then get a spot. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but it was super windy the day we came, so no one was sitting outside. I got the Alex burrito without cheese and sour cream for $13.25. Asked for a recommendation for the meat and was told their al pastor is really good, so I went with that. I liked that they call you as they're making your burrito, so you can customize it further (which kind of salsa, onions and cilantro, do you want it cut in half, etc.). As a picky eater, I really appreciated that. We all got burritos, and one friend paid an extra 3 bucks to make it wet. Chips come on the side, and you can help yourself to salsa at their fresh salsa bar. This is the first taqueria I can remember that has a mild tomato salsa without raw onion and very little cilantro. I was excited to see that finally there's a salsa I can eat. My Alex burrito was one of the best burritos I've had imo. The proportion of meat to beans to rice was perfect and the rice tasted great. The al pastor was amazing: super flavorful and smoky. I usually feel like most burritos taste about the same to me, but I definitely found myself enjoying this one more than usual, which says a lot. Also, they're generously sized here. I wasn't able to finish mine despite my best efforts and packed the last quarter to bring home for dinner. I'd like to end my review by mentioning how polite and friendly everyone was, from the guy taking our order to the guy making the food. I was really impressed by this as well, since taquerias usually aren't exactly known for their service. I can't wait to come back!

My new favorite Mexican spot on the west side of the valley!…read more Love this place! I should preface my review by saying that I only leave Yelp reviews if I really loved, or really hated somewhere (be it a restaurant/bar/store/hotel/whatever). Luckily Chavela's is somewhere that I love!! Chavela's was previously "661 Tijuana Tacos", which my wife and I tried once and didn't enjoy. We went back to give them a 2nd chance, but they still sucked, so we didn't go back again. Around 6 months ago, we noticed that there was a new sign up, so we went in to check it out. Thank god, this was a whole new restaurant with new owners, a new cook, and a new menu! (and not just a rebranding of the old place). We decided to try them and OMG, they're FUCKING AMAZING! Pretty much everything appears to be made from scratch, in-house, from the tortillas to the chips, salsas & guacamole. Since that first visit my wife and I have ordered takeout probably 10 times and have never been disappointed. Customer service is excellent, with friendly cashiers both in-person & over the phone, the inside of the restaurant is clean and well laid out, the menu is simple & easy to read, and their "salsa bar" has a good selection of always freshly made salsas, stays well stocked, and is never too messy. We also appreciate the pricing. Chavela's is about 20% cheaper than another local scratch kitchen Mexican spot, that my wife and I loved, but had to stop ordering take-out from because they were just too damn expensive. Here are my recommendations from Chavela's: - Birria anything! Their birria is PHENOMENAL. And their consomme is *chef's kiss*. One of our favorite things to order (and great hangover food) is their birria quesataco combo + consomme to dip the tacos in. Lots of places that have birria & consomme make the consomme super, super salty, and if they're reheating & re-using it, it makes it saltier and saltier each time. Chavela's makes their consomme in the morning, and when it runs out, consomme is done for the day. If there's any left at the end of the day, it goes home with team members. They don't reuse/recycle consomme to the next day! I also love their birria soft tacos and the birria quesadilla. - Asada & al pastor soft tacos. Soft, tender meats with tons of flavor (onions, cilantro, salsa) on homemade tortillas. What more do you need! Vampiros. FIRE!!! Try them yourself and refute me. I dare you! - Tortas. I've only tried their Cubano torta so far, but it was fantastic (and huge). - Chips & Guacamole. All made in-house, with tons of flavor in the guac, and just the right amount of salt on the chips. My ONLY complaints are that they don't do machaca, so we can't get machaca & eggs or machaca burritos, they don't make albondigas soup, and they don't have any kind of customer rewards program or something along the lines of frequent customer cards, etc. Fingers crossed they'll add all these things in the future! Overall, Chavela's is a great Mexican restaurant that is well worth spending your money at!

I'll usually go…read moreto a taco truck when I'm craving tacos but I have been wanting to try this place as I drive by it often. So much regret. So I ordered over the phone for pickup. When I got to the restaurant it was crap parking, and not inviting at all inside. But I kept a positive attitude and got instead, no greeting from the girl. I smiled and said hi to the girl working and she literally just stared at me with the coldest face. I paid for my food and said thank you and again not a smile, not a wave, nothing from anyone. Okay so most important - the food. Firstly, I got the asada fries. The fries were cooked decent but there was just no flavor at all. It also was cold and clumpy as if it'd been sitting a while which was odd bc I got there 10 min after ordering and ate it no more than 10 min later. Then I got 2 plain asada tacos for my kids - so dry and over cooked. The tortillas over powered the meat for all of the tacos, very thick and just not good. And the asada meat was like the end meat in a party tray, just all the burnt bits. Then I got pastor tacos, these weren't as dry but didn't taste like typical pastor tacos. Not impressive but probably the better out of the entire order. Which isn't saying much. Lastly and most upsettingly, it was raining today so I was craving some Birria tacos. Which is what I ordered for myself. When I got them it was not Birria. I asked the girl and she said it's Barbacoa which is the same thing. It was not the same thing. The meat was again super dry, not saucy at all, and just stuck in between regular dry tortillas. Such a letdown. Not one of these dishes had flavor, like not even salt, and the 2 salsa options were very basic also. Definitely will not go back. Also the radishes to go were not fresh in the slightest.
