I recently picked up an order of cheese enchiladas, and on my third bite I cracked part of a tooth after biting into what felt like a small rock mixed in with the cheese. It was shocking, upsetting, and completely unacceptable. My husband's meal wasn't any better--the chicken had an odd smell and tasted like it had been cooked in old oil, the beans were tough and bland, and the rice had no flavor whatsoever. Really this place is 3.5 stars. Nothing great, but nothing bad either. We got there and the ambience is basically a local grab and go place but there are tables to sit at if you so choose. Service was friendly and helpful enough. We got got the veggie Tex max burrito and the Chile relleno. It was fine and decently affordable. The food was lacking any real flavor or seasoning but sometimes that's not a huge deal. I think the biggest plus of this place is the ability to grab some fresh salsa whether it be mild or spicy to your liking. Overall, this place is alright. Nothing crazy but also forgettable. Waitress rude upon ordering. I ask if my order came with chips she said no, that is $4.00 extra. I replied why so much she said I don't make the prices. Ordered a giant burrito with chile colorado and an an ice tea. When I went to fill my ice tea and took a sip the ice tea was rancid, I told the waitress she says let me make some more. Some guy came instead and got the ice tea container to change it out. Came back so fast most likely didn't wash it throughly. Got so grossed out I ended up getting some Pepsi. This place can be hit or miss. Usually it's a hit but sometimes there are misses too which is why the 3 star review now. We are usually big fans of Mission Burrito, especially for their Taco Tuesdays, but I can see how the place has dwindled recently when their lines aren't long anymore on Tuesdays. We usually love their tacos but when we went tonight our tacos arrived cold and they were so boring and lacked that "yum" factor they once had. I used to dream about the next time I could eat their tacos they were so good! Their chips were also flavorless, but at least their salsa was still good. I noticed even my daughter, who usually gobbles up her kids quesadilla, took a few bites and didn't want any more. Maybe it's the rising prices of everything but paying almost $50 for the food we bought was not worth it and makes us not want to return again. But I'll wait a few months and see how they are and update my review if it's gotten better. read more

Although nothing is wrong with the taste of the food there is something wrong with the advertising. The "Giant " burrito is a regular size burrito. The service is fast no questions. Ambiance is very chill. Really quiet at times. But if you want a regular size burrito go for the giant because there is nothing giant about this burrito . We always have great customer service when we come here whether it's for dine in or take out. I love their chicken tacos, beans and rice. They are yummy.. my hubby is obsessed with their Birria and can't get enough. Enchiladas are nice and cheesy. Salsa has good heat and flavor. Parking is super easy. They failed one basic thing right off the bat. The plate was hot but the food wasn't. That was kind of a deal killer right there. This was a common theme with the reviewer's. Without adding the spicy sauce to the food was bland. The portion wasn't great because I ate the whole thing in about two minutes I'm still hungry. All in all I hate to admit it, but the naysayers in this case were correct. There's a lot of better options out there. I love Mexican food and even better on Taco Tuesday!! Their crunchy tacos are delish and you can't go wrong with refried beans and rice! I finally changed it up a bit and had their carne asada burrito "wet" style and it was really good. We got it to go so i wish it would've been hotter but it was really good. The staff is always nice when we go at lunch. The restaurant has a salsa bar with different types of spicy salsas which are really good and you can't go wrong with that chips. It was a day of visiting our parents in the Valley. After lunch with my mother in law, my wife and I needed to pick up dinner to have with my folks. The only way I can ever, EVER, pick up the tab with my folks, is if I bring food to their house. It really is a perfect plan...especially in these days of social distancing and self quarantine. Mission Burrito has been here decades. It was a place my folks would take us back in the 70's and the food, while Americanized, has always been consistently good. The restaurant was completely empty at 6pm on a Saturday night. Yikes.... no one is venturing out. We ordered takeout and the employees were very friendly and helpful. Takeout is the rule of thumb here and that part of the business is keeping the doors open here. No open salsa bar but they still offer the full menu. I ordered a bunch of crunchy tacos, enchiladas, rice, beans, chips and salsa. The salsa was spicy as hell and quite tasty. The chips were hot and fresh. Tacos were perfect and the enchiladas, as well. Nothing unique, remarkable or high end gourmet. Just Mexican comfort food that me and my folks enjoyed. read more

A good Mexican restaurant in the San Fernando Valley. They currently have three in the valley. All three share the same menu. The food is good not great. I ordered my old favorite the red beef burrito. It's very mild with refried beans and melted cheese on top. My overall problem with the Mexican food here is it's too mild. No real Mexican flavor or kick. My guess why the food is made so savorless is it's clientele. Mostly anglos eat here. Their salsa is very good. I put plenty of salsa on my food there. This place is terrible! My daughter was craving a carne asada burrito. She really likes the pop-up stand down the street in front of Pavillions. Stopped by and no luck today. Bummer. We have driven by Mission Burrito hundreds of times but never tried them out...until today. My daughter ordered a carne asada burrito and I ordered a breakfast burrito with carne asada as my choice of meat. (Bacon wasn't an option, which was weird since it was a breakfast burrito.) We waited 15-20 mins and filled our cups with some Horchata and Orange Bang. All good so far. The lady brought out our to-go order and we made the short drive home to eat. The first thing my daughter said was "this thing is hard to hold" and I looked at it sagging, barely looking like a burrito. I opened mine and it looked the same. I took a bite...all refried beans. Hers too. We cut into it a bit further, there were a few tiny pieces of carne asada, drowning in refried beans. Gross. Same with my breakfast burrito. I don't even think there was one full egg inside. A few piece of carne asada and a whole tub of refried beans. We both threw out the rest. Absolutely disgusting. If the name of your restaurant has "burrito" in it, you better crush the burrito game. I mean, really, how hard is it to make a decent burrito? This has to be the worst that I have ever had in my life. Avoid at all costs! read more
