The food is not bad but not the best and it's convenient. It is a little pricey compared to taquerias, but I get it.

This unassuming taco truck serves up yummy goodness! I usually visit them at the Foster City farmers market on Saturday mornings and was pleasantly surprised to see them at the new San Mateo farmers market on Sunday in the parking lot of the old Draeger's. They are so incredibly friendly, accommodating, and kind! I always order the same thing: breakfast burrito with chorizo and no rice. It's consistently delicious and enough for two meals! It's served with a side of tortilla chips and salsa, all for $15.

Visiting Burlingame Ave on a Sunday means a visit to the Burlingame Farmers market. After quick shopping around, I was craving a burrito and saw the El Flamingo truck with a nice line and crowd around it so I decided to give it a try. First time here, I decided to go with a 'Pastor Super Burrito.' The pastor had a really good texture and flavor, plus they throw the burrito on the flat top grills, so the tortilla gets a nice crunch and toast. The size of the burrito was more than enough for my big appetite. I think they forgot to put in sour cream, which is one of my favorite parts condiments inside of the burrito. It was missing that creaminess. It also came with some delicious chips, but no salsa, which I forgot to ask for. I think adding the salsas would've elevated this experience for me. Price wise, it was $9.75 for a super burrito which is pretty good for 2021! Definitely a good option if you are looking for something quick at the Burlingame Farmers Market and look forward to trying out their asada next time around.

Tacos El Flamingo is present @Foster City's farmers market every saturday. they have the most reasonable pricing of all the food vendors. offerings: tacos, burritos, quesadillas: with super option + tortas eats: lengua taco (3), al pastor taco (2.5) -garnished with radishes, carrots, limes, jalepenos slices -proteins fresh, adequate portions, didn't have much salsa. service was quick, patrons less than usual during memorial day weekend.

Simple flavors ; OG goodies I've been a fan of Flamingo, it's super close to my place. Their tacos use simple seasonings, meat are relatively fresher, flavors are always ON POINT. Tortillas are hot and modestly sized. I can always rely on them to get my taco fix!

    really good al pastor tacos

Tried these tacos at the Foster City farmers market today, and so glad we did! The al pastor tacos were especially delicious, simple, great for the pursuits like me who like a good ol' cilantro and onion taco. Would have liked the corn tortillas to be grilled too, but still good as they are.

3.5 stars The cool thing about food trucks and trailers is, of course, that they roam! The bright orange paint of Tacos El Flamingo has always drawn my attention when parked in downtown San Mateo, but the first time I actually found it active was at the Sunday Burlingame Farmer's Market! Tacos, of course, are the thing to get--I asked for a recommendation, and the server touted the pastor spicy pork, made of strips of lean and fatty pork grilled to perfection with a delicious marinade. It was served on two yellow corn tortillas and dressed with chopped cilantro, onion, and salsa verde, along with pickled carrots, radish, and lime on the side! While tasty, the pork was definitely on the greasy side. I also tried the asada steak taco, made of chopped pieces of grilled steak with the same toppings. Overall, this was a nice plate of tacos, though not the best I've had and rather expensive for the portion sizes. But this truck will continue to stand out to me, thanks to its bright, flamingo-like color if nothing else!

Almost 7:pm Fri evening, and we walked into this place, never having been here before because Pancho across the corner was packed with zero seating, a massive line of to go orders, deafening sound, and a blaring guitar player doing his thang. Just nope, was I gonna do it. But I'd never gotten Flamingo tacos from their famous (to everyone but to me) tacos. Gotta admit, my first thought: how do they afford their lease, at a peak Fri time, they were completely empty. Not a soul in the place. Apprehensive, not sure if that helps anything, and it couldn't be good, right? But I love trying new things, and would rather have a bad experience, as long as it's a new one. Rather than a tried and true fantastic experience. So we walk in, and the people/proprietors are sincerely sweet, warm, friendly, just up and down runaway lovely. We have a seat and order a bunch of stuffL they bring out complementary chips and a fire roasted fresh salsa, not deep red or orange, but not. Zesty tomatillo green, either, sort of a blend--and the perfect amount of kick, super spanking fresh, and the chips very impressive, e.g. light and airy, not greasy or oily, good sized, not thick. On a whim, we also got their guacamole, though we didn't see it on the menu, and oh man, this was the most unexpected treat, which if we hadn't gotten it, would've lost out big. Massive real and true chunks, and I do mean huge actual chunks, almost half slices of avocado with more than its share of fish lime juice mixed into it, with tiny bits of Bermuda onion and cilantro, salt, and the like. I poured the remaining salsa into it, and what a stroke of inspiration that turned out to be. This is the freshest guacamole I've had outside of my own house--they need to put that on their menu ASAP. Then came out the combination plate: chicken tamale and carne asada enchilada with rice and beans, in a red sauce, came alongside a bit of red radish and a pickled jalapeño carrot. My husband got their soft tacos plate (chorizo). The thing about this place is it seems to have Cuban influences, though I could be totally wrong. I liked everything a lot, though it's a completely different deal than your average Mexican place, not so much a taqueria. Their prices are a bit on the higher end, and if the place being empty is any indication, I'm worried for their business, not sure if they're gonna survive Downtown San Mateo. By the time we left the place, there were a couple more people in it, but ... their tamale, btw., I found a bit bland and the chorizo not as charred and flavorfully explosive, their enchilada decent but not celebration worthy. The did have a bunch of egg dishes for anytime ordering, which I imagine they likely do a terrific job of, especially if reviews and photos are any indication.

The foods a little on the spicy side, depending on tase, but they easily accommodated a vegan eater. The chicken super tacos are great

I asked my kid if he was down to try something new and I said "Mexican sushi" at first he was like what is that? It sounds weird, but then I told him it's giant California rolls and other rolls and he said "ok I'm down." Well we went and were super happy we did so. This food was straight fire! It's not Japanese sushi. It's completely different. No wasabi. Lots of hot sauces and chiles. Instead of ginger you get crab salad, carrots, green onion, grilled onions and a grilled pepper. The guamuchilito was epic (crispy and super filling). The sushitun was super tasty and creamy with fresh fish. My favorite though was the ostion preparado with a cooked shrimp and shrimp ceviche. It was excellent. The restaurant is clean, well put together and has great service. I'd come back. Come back on Wednesdays for their 3 rolls and a drink for $35. Im definitely going to be there. Yes, the menu is in Spanish for now, but in the next couple weeks they'll have an English menu. Check this awesome place out!

The concept of having Korean food cooked in a robotic food truck is interesting to me. Since the food was catered, unfortunately I was unable to see the robots cooking in action, but fortunately was able to taste the final products. I was able to try the Wagyu galbi (short ribs), dak galbi (marinated chicken), Seoul food bowl (stir-fried pork belly and shrimp), and japchae, served with their corn salad, kimchi, and white rice. The Wagyu galbi was very flavorful with a good amount of vegetables; though I enjoyed the inclusion of lotus root, the veggies seemed like borderline filler to skimp out on meat. The dak galbi was also flavorful though spicy, and again the inclusion of rice cakes seemed like filler. The pork belly and shrimp were delicious, and I liked that the pieces of pork belly I had didn't have an overpowering amount of fat. The japchae was pretty standard and was nice to balance out the meat. I enjoyed the corn salad because it added a creamy component to my meal. The kimchi got lost in the mixture of food in my bowl and the rice was cooked perfectly by the robot. Overall, I enjoyed the food prepared by OLHSO Truck. Unfortunately, since the food was catered and already prepared when I arrived, I cannot comment on the service or wait times provided by the staff. I would consider ordering food from the truck if I am craving Korean fusion type of food and am too lazy to dine in at a local Korean restaurant. If the food from the truck is a good representation of the restaurant in downtown San Mateo, I am more inclined to try the restaurant for a nice sit down dining experience.
