Solid burrito but even better vampiros! Orange salad was amazing and had a nice kick. Only complaint was that burrito had a few bites where it was a lot of tortilla and not much filling. Quality has not changed since I first discovered this place during the pandemic. The Asada Burrito never disappoints. We'll seasoned and has a slight crunch to it. Highly recommend. I'm glad I found Andy's Tacos Jalisco on Yelp. This is a no-frills taco truck that just delivers on expectations. I got the chicken tacos and what made the tacos great for me are: 1. Tortillas tasted fresh and flavorful 2. Meat was juicy and most importantly chopped into smaller pieces than big chunks that most other places do 3. Orange and green salsas pack a heat punch with flavor The carmelized onions on the side had a nice sweet taste. They also give you a small pack of chips with utensils for a to-go order. Loved this place. Don't know why I hesitated to try it. Menu is in Spanish and English. Cashier spoke both. Got the tacos. Delicious. Loved the salsas: an orange one and a green one. Not sure which one, but one of them left my mouth with a pleasant burning sensation (that, don't worry, went away in less than an hour). They also have Vampiros, which seem to be a taco-like thing, served on a flat, crispy tortilla. Delicious. Going to this taco truck was such a pleasant experience, if you see it, stop by. Have an agua fresca (you can ask which flavors are available that day), or just a snack. I'm looking forward to trying (literally) everything on their menu. read more

This taco truck is so bomb!! I ordered from here because it was so close to home. I had no expectations and this place turned out to be so good. Actually tastes authentic and you can't beat the price. I like to get their tacos usually but sometimes will get burrito if I'm in the mood. None of the items have let me down, but my favorites are carne asada and pastor. They also give you hot sauces and chips with your order which are amazing. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Andy's is a solid neighborhood taco truck serving up tasty eats with friendly service. They are usually open for lunch Mon-Sat from 11am-4pm. I stopped by last Thursday and ordered at the window: 3 tacos and 1 vampiro taco with both carne asada and al pastor meats. I preferred the tacos between the two, both meats were tasty, toppings were fresh, and salsa had a nice spicy kick. My plate came with some caramelized onions, radish, chips and salsa (green and red). Service was great, everything is made to order and came out fast. Great spot for a quick lunch. read more

Man one of the best tacos I've had in a while. Food isn't just food it has a special touch. The tacos got good seasoning. They are very well proportion not too huge not to small. Great taste. Okay let me just say, OMG!!! This is the best taco place I've been to in awhile and if this is their spot then I will be coming every Sunday we have church around the corner. But I'll definitely be more prepared with more cash because they ONLY take cash. Don't let that stop you though! I dug up about $7.00 and was able to order a $2.00 taco and queso birria for $3.50 and gave the rest of my change for tip. The lady quickly helped me and I got my order. They were out of carne asada for the tacos but I was totally okay with a substitute of pollo asado instead. I ordered their queso Birria taco available saturdays and sunday only. Ordered everything as is with everything. After standing for a bit (hot day) lady offered me a free agua Jamaica which was real sweet of her. Their aguas go for about $1. Very tasty drink just sweeter than what I prefer so no problem! I added more ice when I got home. The food was served quickly and I can say major props for sitting in that metal box making food on such a hot day. When I got home I could not believe all the goodies I got. Opened my box and noticed that they went all out by adding grilled onions and my own personal grilled Chile! They gave me a small bag of chips with two types of salsa. The green salsa was good but that red stuff was spicy fire sauce! So tasty! Add some of that delightful orangey spicy stuff on the taco and or the double wrapped large birria with cheese and just enjoy the deliciousness! I ate absolutely everything. I gotta say lots of places not as good as they used to be especially with good Mexican food but this place? YES!!! This will be my go to spot to order food to go when in san mateo. Definitely recommend and bring some extra money for tip. Ill definitely bringing enough money for a bigger tip I want this place to stay in business! I recommend this place as you couldn't tell how many exclamation marks I used lol. Enjoy and share with a friend. read more

They musta pulled them out from under a warming lamp because they were barely lukewarm to cold so that was a fail. Overall, it's not bad, but definitely pricier than most of the other popular Mex spots and now that I think about it, I probably won't go back because of it. There's plenty good Mex around for a lot less $$. I coulda gotten 3 super burritos from Farolito for $35 vs ~$75 that I paid at Suavecito.

So you have to look at the price compared to the menu.

However the location is right next to a freeway so accessing the place often you may have to wait for a long line of cars trying to get onto the freeway.

Andy's Tacos - Best Taco Truck in San Mateo! If you're near the corner of Peninsula Avenue and Woodside Way, you have to stop by Andy's Tacos. This taco truck has become my everyday lunch spot, and I can't recommend it enough! Andreas, the guy behind the grill, is not only super friendly but also incredibly fast at whipping up your order. Whether you're grabbing tacos or a burrito, the food is always made fresh and served quickly. The tacos are phenomenal--the meat is marinated perfectly, juicy, and full of flavor. The carne asada and al pastor are my personal favorites, but you honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu. And the burritos? Amazing! Packed with perfectly seasoned meat, beans, rice, and fresh toppings, they're hearty, flavorful, and always leave me satisfied. However, the experience really highlights the classic food truck trade-offs when comparing trucks to brick-and-mortar sit-down places. At $4.39 per taco out the door, the prices align closely with what you would pay at a full sit-down restaurant. While you get convenience here, you don't get the amenities (seating, climate control, water, restrooms, or a table) that come with a physical restaurant at similar price points. While ordering is quick and easy, there is nowhere to sit down and enjoy your food, nor is there a sink or restroom to wash your hands before or after eating. If you are looking for a quick, good taco to grab on the go, this works. Just bring wet wipes, plan to eat in your car or somewhere else. For those reasons, I prefer a brick and mortar, especially when the food cost the same, but I needed a fix and this was a good alternative.
