Some how this place has 4 stars on yelp? Someone needs to explain this to me using small simple words so I can understand. Food- not good they have all the ingredients, but would it kill them to season their food. A little salt maybe while your cook. I had the torta con papas. Carne asada was not seasoned, it was just meat, avocado, tomato and lettuce, once I added salt, jalapeños and a little salsa it actually tasted like something. In all honesty I can't go back nor would I recommend it to my friends and if your Mexican and you like it que vergüenza. One star because they have free refills. read more

A hole in the wall type of restaurant, it's unassuming from the outside, located in the middle of a strip mall out of the way in San Mateo. When you walk in, you place your order directly with the cashier. If dining in, they will provide you with a basket of chips and you choose from an open table. The booths are a bit cramped with no space at all between yourself and the table but comfortable enough otherwise. There is a self service salsa bar in the corner - we really liked the creamy green salsa. Had just a slight kick but my 3 and 5 year old both loved it. I got a taco salad which is served in a taco bowl with all the ingredients of a super burrito, minus rice and cheese. It was very good, but the bottom of the shell gets really soggy so you can really just eat the top of the shell where it's still crispy. The rest of the family got super burritos and were very happy - the meat was crispy in some parts and moist/soft in other parts and the ratio of the other ingredients were perfect to complement the protein. I grew up right around the corner from this place and always took it for granted. When we moved to SSF, the choices of Mexican food was way more abundant. But now that we are back, I think this spot is pretty solid and consistent. My husband loves their enchurrito and I personally go for their carne asada super burrito. They offer black beans as an option instead of pinto, so that's a plus! Their quesadillas are decent, but I think their super burritos are a signature of theirs. It's definitely more so of a togo spot, even though they have a few tables inside. Parking is ample as well, so it's convenient to get in/out. read more

My friend from out of town was visiting and we couldn't decide on food, so I picked this place again. This time on Door Dash, it was clear one fish taco was specified (or maybe we didn't notice last time). I thought the taco was good, but my second taco completely fell apart. The relleno burrito was HUGE. The super burrito was also big, but not as big. Horchata was also large and tasted fine - definitely fresh milk was used :) read more

Guadalajara Grill always delivers. Their food is consistently good and the service is quick! I ordered super nachos with carne asada by phone and they were ready when I arrived less than 10 minutes later. The salsa and guacamole are always fresh and abundant. The staff are always friendly. I only get takeout so I can't speak to dining in. read more

Stopped in for a quick to go order. I got the burrito supreme and went with the Carnitas and it didn't disappoint. I would be interested to come back and try the carne asada and lengua options. I appreciated the self serve salsa bar. Its stocked with the usual radish, red, and green sauce. I always double up on the sauce because I'm a sauce whore. Service was quick and easy. This place is right near my home..so I've been enjoying there food for a few years now. Until this last time. Many things have changed.. the salsa, the chips, the way the food was put together, the taste of Verde sauce and type of cheese. Prices were higher too. My Carnita super burrito had good flavor. I just wish that the ingredients were distributed better. I DON'T BOTHER WITH YELP. In fact, I hate Yelp. So trust me when I say - this shit matters. I'm about 15 years late in posting this, but when I was a young(er) guy, freshly moved from the midwest to SF, I moved into the apartments behind Guadalajara Grill. I can't really put into words (and it's silly, really) how comforting it was to get to a point with the staff here when I called ahead and ordered the Cajun Shrimp Burrito and even before a few words in, they knew it was me. I've been chasing this dragon ever since. I live in San Diego now and STILL to this day have never had a burrito as good as this. I haven't been back to the Bay in ages, but when I think back on my days of being a single, living by myself, trying to find myself and growing up - this is a meal that's firmly tattooed in my brain as "this is what great latin food tastes like in CA". And lucky me - it was walkable. Not being overly sensational - but that meal that I got over and over during that time in my life will forever be a death row meal candidate. Quick take: good burritos This place was recommended by someone who grew up in this area. After living in Belmont for 5 months I finally stopped by. Went all in and ordered a super pastor burrito. This burrito fed me for 2 meals. Lol The burrito was good. A good ratio of all the ingredients. I arrived on a week day right before the lunch hour. I wanted to share some feedback on the order we received today, as it was unfortunately very disappointing. We had high expectations based on what we'd seen with their food, but the experience fell short. The carnitas we received was overwhelmingly fatty there was very little actual meat if any at all, and it felt more like we were eating scraps than a proper dish. We pay good money to support places in our area and expect to get good food, and we didn't this time. The place was crowed but NOT worth the money we spent. Inflation has hit tacos. Tried to order tacos online at $2.99, but pop-up msg said online ordering is temporarily unavailable. Turns out it's because those same tacos are now $3.50.
