Came here on a Sunday afternoon and they were pretty busy. I ordered carne asada tacos (can't go wrong with that) and chicharon tacos. And my boyfriend ordered a chicharon burrito. When ordering the lady asked my boyfriend if he was okay with cilantro, onions, rice okay in the burrito and he omitted the beans. One thing she never asked is we wanted hotsauce on the food. Because when I got my tacos and he got his burrito, it had hotsauce. I think this is something they should ask if you want when you are ordering. What if someone is ordering for a kid and they don't like hotsauce. I say this cos I don't like hotsauce. My boyfriend had to bring to back and they have new tacos with no hotsauce. Another thing that is a hit or miss here are the chicharon. Our chicharon was both crunchy and soft. I noticed it depends what time of day you go and you also know by how much chicharon they have left (you can see it on the display). I like how they have the toppings in a little bar where you can get (hot sauce, pickled jalapeños, cilantro and onions). It is a small restaurant. They have some seats indoor and outdoor. The first time I tried this place was through DoorDash, and the asada fries were amazing. Ever since then I've been wanting to go back and try their torta, so I finally made the drive to check the restaurant out in person. When I walked in, the place was small but packed, which is always a good sign. It definitely felt like one of those local neighborhood spots, especially since it's tucked away off Serra. While I was standing there looking over the menu, the guy working the register could tell it was my first time. He welcomed me in, thanked me for stopping by, and even asked if I needed any suggestions. He was super friendly and took the time to help, which I really appreciated because a lot of places don't really do that anymore. They also have a small salsa bar, but don't let the size fool you because the sauces are really good. Definitely worth trying a few. I ended up ordering the torta and taking it to go since there wasn't any seating available. When I finally opened it up, I was honestly surprised by how massive it was. It was packed with meat and toppings, and every bite was full of flavor. It definitely lived up to the hype I had built up after trying their asada fries the first time. Let me start by saying that the tacos here are really really good. The problem is that they never ever get your order right. You wait a while for your order first off. Second, when you get it only to find that it's wrong then they have to remake it & it turns into a 2 hour affair. They Always add salsa on plain tacos for my kids, or put their red salsa that I don't like in my burrito or tacos. It's just frustrating. I don't get it. Honest review . Establishment is completely filthy, soon as you walk in you smell day old trash. Flies are everywhere! I had to inspect my food before eating it just to make sure there was nothing moving around in there. A clean establishment goes along way! Now for the food. Al pastor was maybe at best a 3 1/2. Bland flavor and they ruin it with the salsa they add on top of the taco meat. The carne asada was maybe a 4. Needs better flavoring or just flavor in general. Tortilla was good.
