I absolutely love the food here--it's always delicious and keeps me coming back. That said, there are a few things that have made the overall customer experience less enjoyable. The biggest issue is the drive-thru wait times. Even when I'm the only car in the drive-thru, I typically wait anywhere from 25-30 minutes for my order. On one occasion, I waited close to 40 minutes. While I understand that fresh food takes time to prepare, those wait times are difficult to justify, especially when there aren't other cars ahead of me. I've also noticed the prices have increased significantly. For example, the pozole was around $12 last year, increased to about $16 midway through the year, and is now $18.09. I completely understand that the cost of ingredients and operating a business has gone up, but that increase feels pretty substantial in a relatively short amount of time. Lastly, the hours are a bit inconvenient. Closing at 6:00 p.m. makes it difficult for many people to stop by after work, especially since that's when a lot of customers are just getting off. The food itself is genuinely excellent, and that's why I continue coming back. I just think the long drive-thru wait times, rising prices, and limited business hours have had a noticeable impact on my overall experience as a customer. read more

I ordered a side of toast that got brought out when I was almost done with my food and a few reminders. It was cold, stale and unmelted. Pazole was 9/10. I finally got a chance to try this restaurant after seeing all the hype about it on TikTok, so I decided to check it out. Food-wise, it was pretty good. I ordered two tacos -- asada and chorizo -- and the chili sauce burrito. I'd give the tacos about a 7.2/10 and the burrito around a 7.5/10. The flavors were solid and the food itself was enjoyable. One of the biggest issues was parking. It was a nightmare trying to find a spot and I almost left because there was nowhere to park. I ended up having to park down the street. Unfortunately, customer service really needs improvement. When I walked in, I asked if there was a waiting list for seating and the waitress just looked at me confused instead of helping. After finally getting seated, things didn't get much better. I wasn't brought silverware until my food arrived, the coffee was cold, and no one ever offered a refill. The waitress also never came back to check on the table. When it was time to leave, I never received my check and had to walk up to the front and wait about five minutes while the staff looked at each other before someone helped me. Overall, the food is good, but the customer service experience really took away from the visit. I might consider coming back for the food, but the service definitely needs improvement. read more

Stopped by Alexa's Cafe and ordered the Al Pastor burrito -- absolutely delicious! The meat was perfectly seasoned and incredibly moist, and the portion size was generous, easily one of the biggest burritos I've had in a while. So we just went to get a burrito through the drive through. It took very long which is understandable since Im assuming the food is made fresh. But what I dont get is why the tip is being included when I was not asked for a tip. I didnt even know i had been charged a tip until I saw my receipt. Followed the tok and shouldn't have. I ordered flauatas and they are lacking flavor and the rice and beans are below average. My husband got campechana and liked it. We ordered the guacamole and it comes with no chips and of course we had already finished what we had got at the beginning so we had to pay more for a refill. We were brought our food and never asked again if we needed anything or even came back to be checked in on. The tables are left dirty for a long time and. So the food is hands-down really good I really like the menu however, just getting inside is a challenge. They have very little parking. You're sharing the parking lot with the drive-through and have to even walk through the drive-through line which is dangerous just to get inside the restaurant. Which by the way is a very small restaurant with very poor AC, very limited seating and you're literally cramped up with very little space. read more

Just happened to be in the area, did a quick Yelp to read a few reviews and decided to meet up with a dear friend here for breakfast. The place was popping, bustling with patrons and serving staff. It's a small restaurant, an even smaller parking lot which includes a drive thru. We didn't know we could grab a table and have our orders taken, since we saw people standing to place their orders at the counter. This made us feel a little rushed in deciding what we wanted to eat. I ordered their asada chilaquiles with 2 over easy eggs (extra charge). They cooked the asada just as I asked, medium rare and it was tender, flavorful and juicy. My guest ordered their chicken enchiladas and was surprised to see that the chicken isn't shredded, it was chopped into small pieces, same as for chicken tacos. She ate every bite! I read that the service was subpar and that the female staff were less than friendly. We found it to be the absolute opposite! Joanne and Hortencia came by several times to see if we needed/wanted anything., They cleared plates and refilled our waters before we could even ask. We saw a lot of great teamwork. The place is small and we did end up eating on the other end of the table where a lovely couple were already elbows deep in their menudo and chili verde. They were very friendly and said this was their 2nd time this week at the restaurant! The space is a bit too cramped for my liking, and although there is some outside seating, I didn't care for the loud traffic, it's a very busy street. The food was delicious! I had the Chili Verde combo (rice, beans, tortillas). The others in my party had the chicken flautas and they loved it! The chips & salsa were also good and not too hot, but still had a little "kick". The server/hostess was friendly, prices good and portions Huge and the restaurant was clean. On 6/5/26 at 10:35am, went to Alexa's Cafe with my family. We found a table and sat down waited for 10 minutes for the waitress to wipe down the table and give us menus. I went to use the restroom and the floor was dirty. As I came out and join my family, they were serve drinks and a one hand full of broke chips and salse. She never came back to our table to take our order while other people just sat down and were taken care of. Our family has been going to Alexa's Cafe since they open their doors on Cherry Ave and we have never had a serving issue. The food is amazing but they should really hire better servers. read more

A++++ The food was excellent, had the shrimp mojo de ajo, so full of flavor and the shrimp are huge. The beans and rice were really good also. Also had a lengua soft taco which what excellent. My mom had the carne asada and Chile quilles, carne asada was a big piece of meat not your average beef jerky. Everything was so good went back the next day. Had a Chile relleno, really good. Got my hubby a carne asada burrito (he loved it) and menudo for the next day. My husband said his menudo is the best he's had in our area. So happy we found our new hole in the wall spot. read more

First timer and I ordered the hard shell tacos combo plate with a fresa drink. A young waitress was so friendly and attentive with me. I felt welcomed by her; she brought out my drink with complimentary chips & salsa (very tasty). I enjoyed my lunch selection and everything was delicious and down right homemade, I was totally satisfied. This cafe has tables inside and outside. It's a cozy cafe with colorful walls. They have terrible customer service . Went in with a friend who is fluent in Spanish. Even tho the waitress repeated my order back to me in English. She still got it wrong, but my friend who was fluent in Spanish got great service. I ordered the wet verde asada Burrito, she even repeated it back to me.. they brought a red wet burrito. Last to the table. Then I returned it.. it must've take a good twenty minutes for it to come back out. They did not show acknowledgement of it. The experience was over two hours. I even ordered something to go waaayyyy ahead of time.. of course that menudo took at least a half hour to go? I'm not sure if they are prejudice against non fluent Hispanics or what . Alexa's Cafe is a hidden gem in Fontana. It's unassuming from the outside, but let me tell you that the food is anything but unassuming. Every time I have phone ordered ahead the staff is very pleasant over the phone, I don't feel rushed. The food is always on point, and that's a credit to the kitchen staff.
