I came in 2016 on a very windy day and was able to sample a few of the trucks. At the gate, they…read moregive you 5 tickets, which are good for drinks. Also, some vendors give out free sample cards. One thing I hated about the festival is the design/location of the entrance. The entrance is along the freeway side of the parking lot and every person entering has to walk all the way to the front, where there is no parking to enter. They should move it to the back (closer to the building) where people are actually parking. Drinks in the wine tent (as they call it) range from bottled water, to craft beers and wine vendors, to off brand cokes to Vita Coco coconut juice. I ended up getting 1 beer and 3 coconut juices. I tried food from the bird food truck, bundt cake a holic and scratch food truck. The southern comfort bundt cake was really delicious and wish I would have purchased a whole cake during my visit. I ordered a $5 combo meal at the Bird with 3 chicken wings and waffle fries. I had the wings tossed in their habanero sauce, but was not impressed because not only was it not spicy, it tasted like a typical buffalo flavor you get anywhere. No hint of habanero anywhere to be found. The waffle fries were very good though. From Scratch food truck, I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich. This came out piping hot with chimichurri sauce and red onions on top. It was very good as well. I wish I had more time to stay longer and try some other food trucks that I haven't ever tried, and also even pay attention to the music.

Food trucks festival? Hellz yeah. My hubby; however, wasn't down with paying the $16 (plus…read moreprocessing!) per person to get in. Thank you to Farrah, our lovely CM, for the complimentary tickets! Walking around, we started with brisket eggrolls from Wokker TX Ranger -- four eggrolls for $6.00 and they were absolutely delicious! Charlie ordered the Poutine Style Fries topped with fried chicken, bacon bits, and GRAVY from D'Lish Curbside Bistro while I chose to stand in the longest line at the park: Cousins Maine Lobster. My only regret is not ordering two servings of the lobster tacos! Craft Burger had their truck closed down by 3:30 which was a major bummer. I took a photo of the menu description of their Pecan Porter milkshake (maple bacon bourbon milkshake with candied bacon sprinkles) and was REALLY looking forward to having that for desert :p My only complaint for the day was the drink ticket system.. You are given a total of 5 drink tickets: waters cost 2 tickets, sodas required 3, and beer was 4 or 5 tickets! Just left me feeling a bit cheated to only have one beer with almost $20 a person to get in. Yes yes -- I was a lucky one getting tickets from yelp but a few of our friends declined coming out because of the entry cost. Charlie and I made sure to grab some awesome Texas t-shirts from Haus of Growlers before heading out. Check out their website for neat Texas and beer themed shirts and growlers! http://hausofgrowlers.com/

I had just been chatting…read morewith Gretel about breakfast tacos the day we landed in Houston -- and breakfast tacos are one of my favourite things about visiting Texas. We pulled up to this food truck and, while placing our order, I instantly had the feeling that this crew knew exactly what they were doing. That impression proved to be spot on as soon as I took my first bite. The tacos were fresh, flavorful, and packed with the kind of simple, honest ingredients that make great breakfast tacos so satisfying. No gimmicks, no unnecessary fuss -- just well-executed food that delivers exactly what you're hoping for. The service was efficient, the operation ran smoothly, and it was easy to see why there was a steady stream of customers. Overall, an excellent breakfast taco stop and exactly the kind of local experience I look for when I'm in Houston. Saluti.

Luckily, this spot takes both card and cash! I got the small beef quesadilla, and it was loaded with cheese. The small quesadilla was $5.50, and it was pretty decently sized for a small. They have salsa set out at the counter, so you can pack as much as you like. The red salsa was smoky and SPICY. Very tasty if you like spice I see a lot of great reviews about this place. I would like to try their other tacos and give a more detailed review. I will be back! but for sure the quesadilla was a hit for me

I swear the Bulgogi Fries were screaming my name, though. Yoyo's Hotdog - Yoyo--YO. This thing slaps. I definitely craved a Coke or a beer while eating this because that salt kicks your taste buds' *ss. The caramelized onions paired with the crunchy onions were a double whammy that could topple a few hot dog title holders. The real winner, though, was the sauce--definitely something Asian-inspired. But hey, I'm running on five hours of sleep, and that's the best my smooth brain could come up with to describe the experience. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

I got their famous hotdog with spicy mayo, french onion, sautéed onions, and hot sauce. (That's how it comes standard) don't get me wrong it's definitely a lot going on from the flavors and the messiness of the dog, but the flavors balance out very well and the all beef hot dog is delicious. There's no spice from the mayo or hot sauce so if you don't like spice you'll be fine. I also tried their bulgogi fries which came with bulgogi meat, jalepenos, cheese and cilantro. My first reaction was it was delicious but it wouldn't be something I would get again, but after I kept eating it I realized this is actually really good and now when I go back I'll definitely try it again. Overall I definitely recommend this place to visitors or even locals

Yes. It's just a hot dog. But damn, it's a good hot dog…read more Admittedly, I avoided Yoyo's the cart for years, namely because I had hard time justifying an $8 hot dog that I would need to wait 40 minutes just to sniff. The wait is a non-factor at this location in POST Market (#1), which happens to be one of the best food stalls in their star studded lineup. The menu is literally just the hot dog and it's breakdown of ingredients. There are a few drink options on the menu from soda to lemonade, but that's it. It's a simple menu and I'm all for it. The hotdog ($8) was described to me by their hypeman behind the counter: "It will change your life." An excellent slogan indeed. The all-beef hot dog is sliced and grilled and topped with a combination of onions (fried + caramelized) with many drizzles of honey mayo, yoyo's hot sauce, and layer of cream cheese. It doesn't sound like something that works well together, but it does. The end result is that I want more than one, perhaps 2 or 3 in a sitting. The hot dog didn't change my life, but I now appreciate life more because of it. __________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/post-market-houston
