I love meat pies and found 2 Phat Bastard Pies while walking the floor at The Post. The menu is somewhat limited but had my interest with the Lamb Curry pie. It appears to be a family run eatery with a friendly but sharp minor taking my order and explaining the wait. I was given a notification beeper and found a way to kill 15 minutes. My Lamb Curry pie was to go so I had to wait even longer to try it. However, it was delicious with large chunks of tender meat but a little light on flavor. I'll certainly, try them again on future visits to Post Houston.

This place might be called 2 Phat Bastard Pies, but there must be an angel in that kitchen because I can't remember the last time I tasted such a tender, flaky crust. The filing in each was flavorful and distinct, the chicken and jalapeño pie in particular was the perfect level of spicy. Chicken and mushroom was a saucy, complimentary, herby companion. 15 minutes for two amazing pies was no hardship, and everyone I spoke to was really nice. Very chill, casual atmosphere as well, so don't hesitate to walk up and enjoy flaky, filling goodness.

These pies were sooo good. We had an event at the POST for two days, and I was hesitant to try these on the first day because the portion size seemed small for the price. However, they pleasantly surprised me!!! We got the steak n mushroom and beef curry pies. Both of them were VERY flavorful and PACKED with meat. I believe they were around $12 each, and one was already enough to make me full!! They bake these fresh, so they came out piping hot, and I loved the little initials on the outside. So cute! I believe the two people working were the owners, and they were very friendly!

Well, I have never had Zimbabwean and Indian fusion food before! Absolutely loved 2 Phat Bastard Pies. The chicken curry pot pie was fantastic -- I specifically asked for a non-spicy option and they pointed me to this and they nailed it. Flaky crust, flavorful filling, and perfectly comforting. What a fun spot and the two owners/chef were delightful.

I will come back here when I am in Houston! The staff was so nice (Mom and pop shop), they bake all their orders on demand and ask you to be patient as they prepare your order. Filling, delicious, spicy, crunchy, airy, gravy-like goodness. So delicious, a shame one filled me up as much as it did! Be sure to stop by if you can, this is located in one of the prettiest food courts I've been to. The lights, the stairs, it's an experience for sure!

I'm Zimbabwean, and actually happen to be from the same city as the owners of this establishment. One of their fathers used to own a very popular pie/takeaway store in the city and my mom and I used to go all the time. I loved that place. Discovering one of my favorite foods from home in Houston made my year. That pepper steak pie tasted exactly as it needed to and brought me so much comfort. I know the US is pretty unfamiliar with meat pies, but I truly don't think anything beats them. Thank you so much for bringing this here! The food is fantastic and I can't wait to see you expand!

Came here because my fellow Yelper friend wanted to check this place out. Wow this place has a 5 star rating, impressed. According to there website: "Zimbabwean-natives-turned-Houstonians bring a mouthwatering indo-african delicacy to life, savory pies! Hailing from Bulawayo's favorite pie shop, "Oriental Takeaways," 2 Phat Bastard Pies are a product of a bromance between two reunited immigrant families that share the simple goal of spreading happiness, one scrumptious pie at a time." Service- when we arrived at the kiosk the young server that rang us up told us that it was a family operation, which I love. His mom/dad were in the baking makes the pies as we ordered. They were all smiles and happy to share there favorites on the menu. They told us to come back and let us know how the pie was, which we did. Food- it did take a while, we walked around while waiting. But I don't mind a wait if it means straight from the oven food. I got the chicken curry, it's definitely got some kick to it, came out nice and hot. It is indeed very flaky. The chicken was just a touch dry for me, but that's my only complaint really. And that's based on my taste comfort only. She got the paneer and lamb pie, which she enjoyed. We didn't get offered any sauces but my friend went back and got all 3. The fries sauce was yummy. Love a mom/pop business and the service was 5 star. Wishing this business well.

We went to Stesi on a weekday for dinner and it was dead. But we came with one goal in mind: to try Phat Bastard Pies--and we did just that. These pies are made fresh, so don't expect them to come out in five minutes. That said, they're absolutely worth the wait. We ordered the beef curry and chicken curry pies. A little detail I loved--the lady who brought them out pointed out the "C" and "B" baked into the crust to tell which was which. The crust itself was awesome: buttery, golden, thick, and flaky. When we cut into them, they were steaming hot! Flavor-wise, I honestly couldn't pick a favorite. The chicken had more of a flavor punch, but the beef was hearty and homey in the best way. One pie is definitely enough for a meal. So happy to hear they've already moved (or are moving) to The Post--hoping the new location gets them more visibility and the foot traffic they deserve.

I wanted to try a couple places in the food court and I was glad 2 Phat Bastards was one of my stops. The pie was delicious. Very crispy and flakey on the outside and the filling was really good. I almost got a second for later.

If you're looking for a great spot in Houston to get some meat pies, this is the place for you! Located in the Post Food Hall, 2 Phat Bastards is a convenient and fun spot to grab a meal or snack. The servers are so kind and the pies are baked fresh each time! While you're waiting for your pie, you can wander around the extensive dining area or take a trip to the spacious roof. I tried the curry lamb pie and the chicken samosas. They were served hot, crispy, and so flavorful. They definitely have a strong yet delightful spice kick and were very filling.

Located in the POST as one of the stalls. Parking is free for under 1 hour in the paid lot. I got the lamb curry meat pie; it was quite pricey at $12 for a standard size pie but it was flavorful and the crust and interior was delightful. The owner was very friendly as well; the pie took around 15 minutes to make and get ready. Definitely a good option to try something different if you don't mind paying for the ambiance at the POST.

Cashier recommended beef over chicken curry pie & it was really good! Crust was flakey & curry had a nice spice to it. Pretty big for what you pay for so i took some home too

The steak was supposed to be tender, but it was tough and chewy, and I only received three tiny pieces for a $10 steak add-on. I ordered my meal to go and didn't realize until I got home that my order was incorrect. I specifically ordered it with jollof rice, but I was given plain white rice instead. I tried to give the restaurant a chance to make things right by calling them. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was told they were busy and to call back in a few hours. That was frustrating, especially after spending $40 on a meal and an appetizer. Overall, the small portions, poor quality steak, incorrect order, and lack of immediate customer service made this one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this restaurant based on my experience.
