Tacos Steak and Lengua

Stumble upon this Tacos Truck in front of the Autozone on Clinton Ave. Big size tacos for only $2.50 each! Menu options include Steak, Shredded Beef, Roast Pork, Marinated Pork, Tongue. Two choices of hot sauce - medium and hot. Love the loads of toppings they provide! Plenty of glass soda bottle drink options as well.

Ever driven by the Kmart parking lot and wondered what that taco truck is? Same. Well, I finally tried it. Let me tell you.. these are the BEST tacos I've had in Minnesota. I tried the pastor tacos- the meat was flavorful and super moist. The tacos had onions and cilantro on top and were served with lime wedges and 2 types of salsa. Did I mention they are only $2.50 a taco?? If you are looking for some quick take out tacos - El Primo is your place!

Best tacos ever. Huge tacos with a lot of meat. They include more than your normal cilantro and onion with salsa... they add some yummy onions with radishes. Hands down... best taco truck I have ever ate at. Wish they had a truck closer to where I live. If I can ever remember to snap a photo prior to swallowing my food whole before chewing.. lol!

I paid $3 for all this. My life has peaked.

I encountered El Primo on the Northside across from Neighborhoods Organizing for Change (NOC). This is by far my favorite taco truck in the Twin Cities. Not only is it legitimately delicious, it is crazy cheap ($1.50 a taco) the way food trucks should be. This is the real deal. Huge portions, cheap, flavorful, spicy, full of fixings. I would eat here weekly if I could.

Off the hook delicious al Pastor tacos!

Amazing fricken tacos, though the potholes suck, it's not their fault though. They're always nice, and cheap too

I haven't updated this since the last time I lived in Minnesota!…read more When we moved back, Orale was one of the first places we went back to. I love this place, and the food is on par with a lot of Mexican food in California. Most recently, we went to celebrate a birthday. We go here because they are veggie friendly. We ordered the veggie enchiladas and I got a veggie wet burrito. Everything was delicious. My only complaint would be that things could be a bit saucier...but that's a preference thing and we get salsa on the side for it. We also got chips and guac -- delicious as well! I will say that the portions, especially the burrito are VERY generous. I think I should have shared it! It was pretty buzzy, which was great to see given the depths of winter we were in. Go here!!

It's a bit whitewashed and leans more Cal-Mex than anything you'd find in Mexico, but I'm not complaining. I love a good California burrito and asada fries, so this style has its place (especially in Minnesota). Service can be slow. It took us about an hour to get two burritos yesterday and the restaurant didn't look busy. Maybe they were just short staffed. My main issue is the salsa. They limit you to one packet per person, and it's not the slightest bit spicy. And where are the limes? This place desperately needs a salsa bar with real options and some heat. Bump up the salsa selection and stop rationing it, and this would be a solid spot. For now, I'll keep getting this to go and buying my own salsa and limes.

I really love a self-order restuarant, our food came out within 10 minutes and drinks were quick as well. They have great seating options inside or out - perfect for a solo date too! The elote corn really threw me through a loop because it was SO wet. Almost everyone ordered it, and left us a bit dissapointed with how wet it was. Wouldnt order again. The fish taco was really good! I do wish they still had the nopales tacos :( Cherry marg was amazing, and im usually not a big fan of margaritas! Perfectly tart without being too sweet. Nachos were HUGE and layered really well - definitely needed for the entire table! When one of our drinks were forgotten, they gave us an extra to make up for it... which we really appreciated after the wait! Love u centro & especially your parking in the back!

Exceptional, personal service, passionate cooking, warm and inviting atmosphere. The owners Chef Cristian and wife Karen are absolutely amazing and the sweetest. I'd been previously for various events, but this was the first trip just for a casual pop in and dinner. Went for nachos as a table, I snagged a birria burrito bowl, and we had a churro cheesecake for dessert. Chefs, absolute, kiss. You can taste the passion. There's a lot in the back for parking, and pricing is more than fair if not, a killer value in my opinion. Definitely check them out!

They are not serving alcohol anymore which is unfortunate to not be able to enjoy a margarita but they had a large mocktail list. We tried three different tacos (chicken, carne asada, and carnitas) and I loved being able to mix and match. The carne asada was probably my favorite but they all were swimming in oil. The skirt steak enchiladas were a standout and easily my favorite dish of the meal. The steak was tender, the portions were generous, and everything came together really well. The queso was rich and creamy, and the fresh guacamole was a great starter while we waited for our food. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal, and the overall atmosphere made it a really enjoyable place to spend the evening.

I started with their signature cocktail, the Naked Dani. It comes topped with a salty foam and a little rubber duck, which makes it a fun and memorable drink. For food, we ordered a variety of dishes to share. We started with the Crispy Masa Chips, and honestly, I would probably skip those next time. The portion was pretty small, they were a little awkward to eat, and they just didn't stand out flavor-wise. The Cucumber Watermelon Salad, on the other hand, was amazing. It was light and refreshing, making it the perfect addition to the meal. The roasted sweet potatoes were another favorite--they had so much flavor and were cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Corn Elote Chipotle, which was absolutely delicious. I could have easily eaten the whole bowl myself. For tacos, we tried the Pork Carnitas, and they were fantastic. If you're dining with a larger group, you can even order a larger portion so everyone gets one. Our favorite dish of the night, though, was the Zubuton Asada. It only comes with one skewer and is definitely one of the pricier menu items, but it was worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and easily the standout of the meal. We also tried the Chicken Thigh Pincho. It had a nice flavor but was spicier than I expected, so it's probably the one dish I would pass on during my next visit. Overall, we had such a fun dining experience. It's definitely more of a special occasion spot than somewhere I'd visit regularly because of the price, but everything from the atmosphere to most of the food made it feel well worth the splurge.

I'm fancy, so I wanted something a bit more upscale. I did a little bit of research and wouldn't you know it... Colita came up. So here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set south of downtown and a bit west of The Mall of America on Penn Avenue is this gem. There is no private parking lot, but plenty of street parking to leave your fly ride. But once you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately understand the message they're trying to send. Everything looks so modern, straightforward with straight lines, grey colors and light woods. There is a small outdoor section where you can dine if you get lucky enough to land a spot there. Inside carries a very similar style with a little nod to the pueblos and architecture of the southwest. The decor is minimalistic and the "loudest" thing in the room is the live plant wall seated directly behind the bar, which was super cool. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. Food/Drink: I was able to try so many different dishes and drinks here and the list is below... : Xochitl In Love : La Clandestina : Tuna Tostada : Chicken Tinga Tostada : Seared Scallops : Tlayuda : Colita Old Fashioned : Lamb Barbacoa Tacos : Duck Tamal However, my favorite things were the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, Duck Tamal and Seared Scallops, in that order. The food here is phenomenal, the drinks are excellently crafted and things are served tapas style so you don't get too full off of just one thing! Order a whole bunch of stuff and share with the table! Value: As I mentioned earlier, I wanted upscale and the priced dddooo reflect that. Lol. This is a nice place so be prepared to spend... Like you're downtown somewhere. In conclusion, I loved this place and I will come back over and over. Check this place out the next time you're in the area!
