A fun spot! We came here for my friend's bachelorette party and even though it was raining we were still able to sit "outside". There is something for everyone here as they can accommodate a lot of diets and you can customize your dishes. They also have a lot of fun drink options, even for those who don't drink alcohol. My food was great, the highlight was the arepitas! I also ordered a mocktail and when our server brought us a round of shots to celebrate (their current frozen drink) she brought me an N/A without me needing to ask which I really loved. Super great service and I'll definitely recommend this spot!

Really great spot! I came in hungry, and enjoyed every bite. I grabbed the fried chicken arepa, and loved the juiciness and freshness of this bite. I will be coming back and trying more! The table itself was in a nice spot on the patio, we enjoyed the scenery and decor. It was a very hot day, and the guava lemonade hit the spot perfectly! All I can say- I think the portion of the yuca fries with the sandwich really jarred meI'm used to getting a whole mountain of fries, and felt like I could've used a few more that five sticks! I loved the bites that I did get though

Vibrant restaurant interior and a colorful outdoor patio. A good date spot for dinner or drinks with friends. Wait time was not bad at all. Can make reservations ahead of time too.

Hola Arepa had a line out the door and for good reason. The food that was offered was one of the best things I had on my trip to Minneapolis, and also one of the most unique. Served on a warm cornmeal griddle cake and some Yuca fries to go along with it, it is full of flavor. All of the Arepas looked delicious and you cannot go wrong with what you pick. The drinks were also very good and I enjoyed the Horchata Painkiller. It was very busy inside, with an orange tint from the heaters above. However if you go during winter, cold is the last thing you will be. If anything we were almost too warm! If you go, just know that as it is popular, tables are close together and it is a little noisy, but all those are just signs of a well loved establishment

After hearing so much hype about Hola Arepa, I was excited to finally give it a try. The food was good and definitely flavorful, but it didn't quite live up to the expectations I had going in. While I enjoyed my meal, I found myself having a hard time justifying the prices for what you get. There are a lot of great food options around the Twin Cities, and I think you can find meals that are just as good, if not better, for a lower cost. I'm glad I checked it out, but it's probably not a spot I'd go out of my way to visit again.

Super cute restaurant! The lighting was super fun, darker but with many colors and a cute patio for outside seating. There was a small parking lot if you're lucky! Service was very quick and attentive. We got the arepas, and they did not disappoint! Super filling and paired with the fried yuca they were delicious. Loved eating here!

Hola Arepa is a place I happily return to again and again. The food, the service, the ambiance --five stars all the way around. Because of this, it's usually a busy spot so reservations are strongly recommended. I love the vibrant and tropical decor here whether you're sitting outdoors or inside! While cozy inside, the music and atmosphere are so inviting that you easily slip into your own little world. The service is always friendly and welcoming! But what truly keeps me coming back is the food. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my favorite bites include: - Nachos Divorciados - Yuca Fries with aioli verde - Chimichurri Chicken Arepa - Shredded Beef & Sweet Plaintain Arepa - Argentinian Steak Arepa - Sopes de Albondigas Hola Arepa has also curated a bangin', playful-yet-stiff, cocktail menu along with mocktails, beer, wine, and fountain drinks. I love visiting for both brunch or dinner, but my absolute favorite time to visit is during their Holiday Pop-Up bar "season". Themed drinks and holiday menu items are only the beginning of what makes a visit to Hola Arepa a hoot during this time. Regardless, anytime is a great time to give them a try!

Hola Arepa is a unique and flavorful spot in southwest Minneapolis. The restaurant is small but mighty. They have a GREAT patio for the warmer months. I find myself here often to enjoy their expansive menu of Latin inspired dishes and fun cocktails. They also play into fun themes around the holidays and throughout the year with themed drinks. The hallmark of Hola Arepa is of course their stuffed Arepas, which are Venezuelan style. Arepas are made in house every day using cornmeal dough (which is gluten free!). The Arepas are stuffed with various meats, veggies and toppings, and surely there is one for everyone on their menu. My favorites are the Cuban Arepa and the Shredded Beef and Sweet Plantain Arepa. They have both an aoli and a chimmichurri sauce to choose from for dipping. Lastly, their Yuca fries deserve a special call out- they are the best Yuca I've found in the twin cities. They are so crispy and light. Everything pairs well together, and is flavorful and consistent. This is a staple for me in the cities!

Nice casual restaurant Cute tropical vibe, especially like their patio in the summer Arepas are decent, I prefer most of the fillings than the actual arepa(that's just me) Yucca fries are okay Cocktails are good Service is fine Street parking

Hola Arepa is usually a slam dunk, and this visit was no exception for flavor--their take on Latin street food is genuinely fantastic. I had the Black Bean and Queso Fresco Arepa and the fillings were spot-on: flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and the sauces were vibrant. The cocktails are also a highlight and the vibe is always fun and lively. However, there was a noticeable slip this time: the food was served a little cold. It's such a letdown when a dish that is meant to be warm doesn't have that piping-hot fresh-off-the-griddle feel. It dampened the experience, which is a shame because every ingredient tasted great. Service was friendly and fast, as usual. I'm definitely a repeat customer and know this place can deliver 5-star food. Hopefully, the kitchen can dial in the temperature next time because the delicious flavors of Hola Arepa deserve to be enjoyed at their best!

Made my way to one of my favorite places for their Halloween pop up. Made some reservations for inside, but I think the patio might have been a little better for the moody lighting. Parking here isnt always the best cause they have a small parking lot and then its street parking. This place stays busy but this time they actually seated me as soon as we got there. Ordered a couple drinks, a Cuban and a steak area. Their cocktails are amazing, I had the one that looks like a witch potion, and my date had the carved pineapple. Loved the food and drinks, always a great experience and cant wait for my next visit.

Fresh off the plane to this fabulous find. Love the tapas style portions. Beware....some things look small (ie: Pao Burger), but are super filling. Almost all items on the menu are gluten-free. A unique menu, plethora of drink options, a wonderful ambiance with both indoor and 2 outdoor seating areas. We were only in town for a quick visit, but if I lived here, I would definitely be a regular. There is a small parking lot, plus street parking available. There is construction in the area currently which impacts street parking availability. So many photo ops...highly recommend!

Arepa and yuca fries were amazing, I really liked the aioli. I loved all the plants hanging from the ceiling too, it was so pretty. Will be back!

Pollo might be one of the juiciest chicken dishes I've had in my entire life. The sauce in Toledo is amazing and not super butter-y! Seating was very small and you can overhear the conversation from other tables. I personally didn't mind it, but if you are looking to have more privacy, I'd recommend sitting at corner tables. I also highly recommend reserving a table instead of a walk-in since they have limited seating. It was packed even on a Tuesday evening. I can't wait to go back again!!!

The tartare had so much flavor to it. It had a nice mussel aoilo that really brought it together. The crudo was great as well. Had a little spice to it but felt fresh to eat. Entree: we ordered the double cheeseburger and Poutine. Have no words to describe how amazing it was and I've tried burgers all over the twin cities. The patty was cooked medium/medium rare, with carmelized onions, pickles and mustard aioli. Every bite was so delicious and flavorful, how a burger should be. The poutine was also amazing! The cheese, gnocchi and ox tail was such a wonderful and unique combo. Dessert: we ordered the dark chocolate mousse cake. It was topped with whip cream and had a piece of chocolate on top. It was amazing! Chocolate wasn't too overly powering and the whip cream balanced it out. The service was great! Checked in how we were doing and asked if there was anything needed. We were seated at the bar, which was a little spacious, but could be cramped if there are others around. The ambience there was good! It is dim but still has enough light to look at the menu. They have it right on their website that parking can be tricky, be prepared to walk. The inside has bar seating and the restaurant may be small but is overall bigger than expected. It's elevated without giving people in jeans the side eye. We started with aperol flavored Jell-O shots. They were certainly Aperol flavored and probably the highest class Jell-O shot I've ever taken in my life. I had the spritz on special which was dill based and I was in love. I could have had 17 of them, been rolled home and been in absolute bliss. I also ordered the spritz salato and it was an equally as delicious savory cocktail. For dinner we shared the chips with speck (3.5/5). The chips were a little oily, but I'm a sucker for anything with prosciutto and crème fresh. I had the beef tartar as my main. The bread slices are pretty big. It comes with two pieces and regardless of if you are going to share or not I found myself having to cut the bread into smaller pieces. The chips worked out well as a vessel for the tartar too. Everyone else for the burger and after a singular bit I understood the hype. It has to be a top 5 burger ever. I'm still thinking about the burger and it wasn't even my entree. I'll certainly be back!

When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was that several tables needed to be cleaned. Seating was limited because many of the empty tables still had dishes and trays on them. We ordered at the register, and I got the pastor specialty tacos with a jamaica. The cashier asked if I was sure about the jamaica because she said theirs is a bit sour, and she even offered me a small sample first. I thought that was thoughtful customer service. After tasting it, I still wanted it, it didn't taste sour to me at all. It just wasn't as sweet as the jamaica I'm used to, and I actually enjoyed it. The hint of ginger was a nice surprise and something I'd never had before. The tacos were good, maybe not the best I've ever had, but definitely solid. I loved that the tortillas were handmade, and adding some of the table chili gave them the extra kick I was looking for. It was truly a neighborhood gem that satisfied my taste buds. My favorite dishes were the quesabirria platter, the honey macha wings, and a few of the street tacos, specifically the pork carnitas and the pork al pastor, because both were pretty juicy. One major advantage this establishment had was the kinds of sauces they had, because innovatively, they had some chili oil hot sauce that I enjoyed putting on my street tacos, even if it wasn't the most common combination. The carne asada steak street tacos had their own sauce called "salsa real" which was pretty tasty. All of those dishes had good flavor and were juicy. Other than those, some of the street tacos relied on the sauces for juiciness, and the meat themselves were a bit dry (carne asada, for example). The pork al pastor gourmet tacos were a bit dry as well, and relied on the sauce on the side for flavor. The churros were a bit hard, and because of such, I couldn't really use them to pick up the chocolate sauces. The tres leches cake lacked some sweetness, but was on point in terms of consistency. There are still some dishes on the menu that look appealing, so I am certain that I will be back, especially since I live very close to this restaurant. I also want to mention that it has always been a great experience ordering food with the server at the counter. She was very nice!
