I'm pretty sure this is the only taco truck in Benicia but they have pretty solid burritos! My husband gets takeout from here every once in awhile and we always opt for the super burritos! I got the carne asada and it was packed with hearty meat. I just wish I had added on the salsa because I felt like it could use some sauce inside. Lots of sour cream though and that was nice! This place is still my favorite Mexican Food in town. This place is so good that me and my girl had to come here twice this week. The first time I ordered a Super Chicken Burrito which seemed bigger than the burritos I grew up. Not complaining at all but just had to throw that out there. Yesterday I ordered a Carne Asada Torta. That also was pretty solid. Plenty of meat and even better once you add some of their tasty hot sauces. I've lived in Benicia all my life and have been here millions of times. The one thing I can say about Tacos Jalisco is that they are very consistent. I can't think of the last time that they messed up an order or something didn't taste right. I actually don't know if I've ever had a bad order here now that I think about it. If you are in Benicia and want Authentic Mexican, this taco truck should definitely be on your eye. Just don't forget to bring cash since they are Cash Only. There is an ATM at the liquor store next door but there is a hefty charge last I remember. read more

Quick, delicious, and easy access. They're right off the freeway and have never had a problem finding parking in the tiny mart spaces or on the street. A little hard to hear when placing the order but the point gets across and you don't have to wait a ridiculous long time to get your order. Always say yes to the salsa offered. Super tasty. Can't go wrong with tacos. If you're going for a burrito, just make it the super. It won't fall apart either. They've got a bench or two to eat at if you're right on time and want to eat outdoors. I've eaten her twice and both the chicken and beef tacos are SO GOOD. They're just the right amount of spicy and super affordable, so my partner and I will order 2-3 of each and share. The only thing I'd change is their hours - I wish they stayed open just a little later! Now that we're working from home it's easier to catch them for dinner time - they're open 11am-5pm, and before COVID I seemed to always get home around 5:15 just a smidge too late to grab tacos for an easy dinner. Menu hasn't changed, still burritos, tacos, what not but what the heck happened to the prices $$$? Holy cow, $10 for a chicken burrito with rice and beans from a taco truck? No restaurant overhead, no table service, no restrooms, no wait staff no anything but a burrito wrapped in thin aluminum and you want to charge these prices? Not a chance. The shredded chicken tacos and the carnitas taco that I just got from this truck were amazing! I also did get a side order of rice, but it was super plain. Their hot sauce is super good as well. The best burritos in Benicia doesnt mean to much. Consistently mediocre. Small. Minimal to no seasoning, harder to notice though if you get a super substituting cheese for flavor. Salsas are decent but tiny. Heavy on the rice. Would do about as well at taco bell really, premium price for mediocracy. Literally about 2 tablespoons of meat on a good day. This is a Mexican roach coach - not too many ways to spin the ambiance and service here, HOWEVER, the food tastes good, as roach coach food should! BTW, the proper name of the business is Tacos Jalisco, not "Taco Truck" but the place has a huge local following (including me) and I guess everyone local just refers to it as the Taco Truck, so there it is. Today I swung by thinking of getting my usual carnitas burrito, but then I saw the paper sign in the truck window stating "Fish Tacos $1.50." Fish tacos are my favorite and $1.50 is as cheap as they get so I ordered a few. THEY WERE DOUBLE-E DEELICIOUS! Most restaurants make fish tacos using batter-fried fish fillets, THESE tacos were made using FRESH FISH. Each taco was piled high with tender, fresh, delicious fish chunks - and I do mean piled high! I asked them what kind of fish they use, it's basa, and unfortunately they only serve these on Fridays. The main drawbacks of Tacos Jalisco are that the truck is located next to a liquor store and not far from a Big-O, so not prime real estate, and because they are so popular there is usually a 5 to 15 minute wait for your food. Get it? Hanging outside a liquor store with a handful of strangers, many smoking, playing load music in their jalopies or looking gruff next to their Harley. Good thing Benicia is actually a very safe place and the Police station is not far either! Now that they have fish tacos I will be back more often, Damn the vagrants and full speed ahead! read more

Why did NO ONE tell me about this little nugget of goodness? Change is good, people!! A great big "Thanks" for turning a rather dreary Friday afternoon, into a glorious lunch time affair. I'd heard about another infamous taco truck around the streets of Benicia. But being of the lazy sorts I never ventured out to find it. The one that is about a block away suffices, but I had a bad experience recently, so we're on a break. A sweet co-worker offered to pick me up something. Upon suggestion, I ordered the carne asada burrito (sin frijoles). Basic as it was - rice, avocado, & carne asada - the flavor was on point. The seasoning of the carne was delicious and stood out, it wasn't blended in by all the other filler. I was also completely amazed by the gorgeous green slices of avocado that was in my burrito, not guac, but actual slices of avocado. That's a game changer for sure! Best Mexican food in Benicia by far. Yes it is a taco truck but let's be honest, if you're from the Bay that shouldn't matter. The tacos are bomb, especially when you get them with the works (cheese and sour cream). The cheese and sour cream really kick it up a notch. I've had the carne asada and pastor, both are good options. They also come with these caramelized mini onions on the side which are very tasty. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and they have veggie super burritos and even veggie tacos that she loves. I've even noticed a lot of other people ordering the veggie options while waiting for my food. The tamales are pretty solid as well, I believe they only have pork but still a good add on item. They only have whole beans which is pretty cool rather than the traditional refried beans. Overall, don't let the fact that this is a taco truck because they pump out great fresh authentic Mexican food! So fresh that if you get there too late your meat options may be limited. read more

My favorite Mexican in the Benicia/ Vallejo area. Come here at least once a week. To be honest I usually get vegetarian items but they are great. The fish tacos are great but sell out if you dont get there early. I love the green sauce and it seems like thats what most people ask for. Its really delicious.
