La Joya Taco Truck has been on my radar for years. I finally tried it for the first time last year, and since then it has become one of my go-to taco trucks in Vallejo. The food is very, very good, the prices are reasonable, and the portions you get are worth it. It's kind of hard to miss when driving by, but they also have a small sign near the street letting you know they're there. I had known about this taco truck for years but never stopped until last year, and now I wish I had gone sooner. I ordered a super burrito and a few tacos. One thing I really like is that they actually list the length of their burritos on the menu. That's a nice touch because sometimes you order a "super burrito" somewhere else and end up with something small. Here, you know exactly what you're getting. Out of all the taco trucks in Vallejo, this is easily one of my top three burrito trucks. I try not to burn myself out eating at the same place too often, so I like switching between favorites, and this is definitely one I keep coming back to. I almost always get the steak burrito. One thing I really love is the pico de gallo they use. They use red onions, which gives it a nice touch, and every time I get it, I can really taste the cilantro in the pico de gallo throughout the burrito. The steak and chicken street tacos were also really good but the burrito is always my favorite! Parking is never an issue because they share a parking lot with an auto body shop during off-hours, so there's usually plenty of space. They also have cones to help guide cars entering and exiting the lot. When your food is ready, they call your order number over the microphone/intercom system, then ask if you want red or green sauce and chips. Overall, I've always had a great experience here. If you're in Vallejo and looking for a good taco truck, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

4+ taco truck in the Vallejo area that opens on the late side. I was in the area for work and couldn't decide what I wanted for dinner and I didn't know the area. I waited so long that most of the places is closed up. Luckily, this place was open late which is great. Came here and ordered a few tacos. Ordering was easy and the folks were chill and friendly. The gentleman here are very handsome and very nice. Always nice and quick and the burritos always wrapped perfectly. People should definitely tip more because it boosts morale. Sitting outside is nice especially when it's hot. If not you can always be in your car with the air conditioning. The biggest burritos in Vallejo La Jolla has their huge La Jolla burrito. Worst customer service ever!!! Would NOT RECOMMEND!!! they charge your card extra even after you spend more than 20 dollars. You order a super burrito and they ONLY give you two sauces for it. Then say they will have to charge your card again for more sauces, plus the extra charge to run your card. I would NOT do business with the truck ever again! read more

We came here and got carne asada super burritos and lengua tacos. Pricing is great! And $3 off burritos on Wednesdays! The burrito was good. Nothing spectacular. I would not say it was one of the best I've had but it was good. The guy that took my order was nice. No complaints with the customer service. They're open late night so that is a plus. Five Stars across the board. Found out about this place when I was finished at a bar and ask somebody where should I go to get burritos and unanimously this is what was recommended. I love that they have specials every day and you don't have to tell them about the specials. They actually know what the specials are so they give you that discounted price you don't have to tell them later hey, what about your special because some food trucks will do that and it's a bit annoying I'm not gonna lie. The food. Here is awesome. The burritos are gigantic for the prices. We recommend getting a super burrito because it's only like two dollars more and you get so much extra stuff in it. Horrible customer service, I definitely won't attempt to try again. Yelp says they close at 1, so I went around 12. I stood there for like 5 minutes with all the workers just starting at me. Finally I asked if they were still taking orders and one of the workers said no. What's the point of being open late if you're not taking orders. I'll just stick to my usual taco spots from now on. I haven't been to this spot in a minute and I wanted a burrito so here I am. I came in and ordered their legendary La Joya Super Burrito which is $20, $23 if you get a premium meat. When I used to go here in high school, I remember the huge super burritos only being $7 lol, but I guess inflation had to hit sometime lol. Still regardless, the food here hasn't experienced a drop off in quality especially the burrito. The La Joya super burrito is as long as my forearm lol. It's perfect for 2 people or you can save it for a lunch and dinner. So you're still getting a bang for your buck. Got into Vallejo pretty late and there weren't many places open. We had a really heavy fried lunch so I really needed something lighter. Saw that this taco truck offered a salad with option to add meat and my bf always loves a quesadilla so we came here. There was a good amount of parking spots available and easy to spot. They are cash only so FYI. I ordered the Joya salad and added carne asada plus an Al pastor and chicken taco. My bf got the carne asada quesadilla and a pastor taco. I was curious about the cabeza and asked the guy taking orders if it was fatty and he was honest that it could be. He was super friendly and accommodating with our order. It took about 10 minutes for our order to be ready and they made sure to ask what salsas we wanted and also included 2 small bags of tortilla chips which was nice. The salad was pretty good and big portion with decent amount of carne asada and avocado. Very good with the verde salsa for me, healthyish option. The tacos were also pretty good, not the best I've ever had being from LA but for the area done well. I had a bite of quesadilla but found it out way too greasy. Wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come back but if I find myself in the area will definitely come by for the options and portions at a good price. read more

Last Sunday (3/30/25) I was craving for a chorizo breakfast burrito and wasn't sure where to get a good one. We normally go to La Joya for dinner and we love it. But this was my first time ordering a chorizo breakfast burrito and was disappointed because I found a staple in my burrito while chewing my food. I had to spit out what was in my mouth because it poked my tongue. My husband wanted to go back to the truck to show them, but I told him it's not worth the gas and time. Had to leave these guys a nice review. Came here last night, in the area for work they were open late and had good reviews. Got 3 carne asada tacos that were amazing. Lots of meat, good quality meat too, hardly any fatty pieces. Came with cucumber and a radish and plenty of hot sauce. Friendly staff. I knew I liked them when they aren't stingy with the hot sauce. So came back the following day when I needed to get food fast heading to the airport. Decided to just come back again instead of rolling the dice on a new spot and this time got their super veggie burrito but added carne asada as well (wanted the lettuce, tomato, etc from the veggie) and it came out HUGE! Everything in the burrito was rationed well and even had some left for a snack. They offer complimentary chips too! Can't beat that. used to eat at this taco truck often because they are open late. but never again, the other night my coworkers and i pulled up to the truck. there was no one in the parking lot. we waited patiently for five mins, as there was no one to be found to take our order. my coworker ended up checking the truck just to make sure. he sees two workers ON THE FLOOR hiding behind the counter giggling. they definitely knew we were there but didn't want to acknowledge us for some reason. my coworkers and i just wanted something to eat after a long shift. after heading back to our cars we notice another car pulling up. we see the two employees stand up and take their order. this whole situation wasted our time, we didn't even want to try to order. as someone that works in the service industry, there's a lot that management needs to address, from staff to service. turning away a paying customer = i will be spending my money elsewhere read more

I attended the church next to this place all my life so natuarally i been going to La Joya ever since they set up shop. 2014-2019 was when I would go consistently and the food was mfkn A1. I come back now (2025) to try the La Joya Super Burrito..... this place shot down to the worst taco truck in Vallejo from being my favorite one. The burrito didnt disappoint in appearance matter of fact looks the same as I would get all those years ago but things changed forsure. Idk if the rice was old and left out but that shit tasted store bought. The meat is over cooked/charred and over salted.
