I placed a "To good to go" order for pick up at this spot near my home. I paid about $6 for a random goodie bag from Tacos Jalisco. We are new to the area so it was nice to check out the surrounding area. There is plenty of parking nearby and other shopping plazas on the same street. Tacos Jaliscos is small taco shop located on Tweedy Blvd. My son and I showed up to pick up our order and we were greeted by a friendly couple who I'm assuming are the owners. I informed them that I was there to pick up our "To good to go" order and the male owner didn't hesitate to start getting our order ready. My son and I took a seat and we were checking out the decor and ambiance. Tacos Jalisco feels like you're in someone's home. The artwork and decorations really capture the Mexican flavors incorporated in their food. The owner brought my son and I a Jamaica (Hibiscus) drink which was refreshing and not overly sour or sweet but just right. We checked out their menu and Tacos Jaliscos is serving more than just tacos. This small sit down restaurant offers a vast variety of menu items. They sell typical Mexican breakfast/lunch dishes but they also venture out a little and offer fusion items like Birria Ramen, Carne Asada fries and Tortas de Camaron. We received our order in a timely manner and we headed home to check out what Tacos Jalisco hooked us up with. If you're not familiar with the 'To good to go" app it's a service that allows you to purchase "Surprise Bags" of unsold food at a significant discount. When I opened up the surprise bag I was pleasantly surprised to find a 3 taco meal order. They gave me 2 shredded chicken tacos and one shredded beef taco fully loaded with toppings and sauces. The order also included rice and beans which were very flavorful. The tacos were very good as well the shredded beef taco was my personal favorite. My son on the other hand enjoyed the shredded chicken. The tacos were soaked in their juices and sauce which made them fall apart tender. I would definitely come back to this place to try out the other items on their menu. If you're on the "To good to go" app and see this place come across your feed definitely snag up a surprise bag. I also would recommend checking this place out on your own accord because the food is solid and the customer service is top notch. read more

You can not go wrong with $1 street tacos--that taste good too. By the time we rolled here on our taco crawl, they were out of chicken. Thus, we had asada and al pastor. I also had an horchata. While I loss money on that watered-down horchata, the tacos were good. The al pastor was good, but it was not the star. Their asada is the clear crawl winner! I've lived nearby to this hidden gem and never ventured inside until around 2 years ago. Food, service and ambiance is wonderful. We decided after our first time there that it would become our Taco Tuesday spot. Be warned though, it gets kinda packed especially before closing time on Tuesdays for their special when the rush kicks in. Oh man, they have a salsa bar with this habanero sauce that's sooo good and spicy that my mouth waters when I think about it. One lil container is all I need for like 4 tacos. A lil goes a long way. This little piece of heaven sells the best agua fresca de Jamaica homemade there! + delicious tortas de carne asada! For under $6!! What a steal, agua fresca was like $2.75 for a large one but I'll pay that any day for some homemade agua fresca and not the trash they sell at tacos gavillan. This is my second review for this restaurant...while I still enjoy their food I have to say that their service has gone down. It always takes so long to receive your order no matter how many or how few customers are there. It is family run which is nice but they do lack a sense of urgency when it comes to preparing your meals. Don't come here is your starving because it isn't going to be ready quick enough. After unsuccessful attempts to find goodness in SF and LA I stumbled upon TDJ because it is by the school I work at. The nachos are made with fresh chips and are delicious packed with goodies. The sopes have lettuce, tomato, and avocado unlike King Taco who sticks to the meat and cheese formula. It's cheap and the owners treat you like family.
