    Torta Planchada con Todo!

Under new management, miss the previous owners, food is not the same, unfortunately, won't be returning.

Tried the asada and al pastor quesadillas based on the ratings. The ratings are correct! Everything was delicious and cooked to order. It's a humble small restaurant but those are usually the best surprises!! Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

You can not go wrong with $1 street tacos--that taste good too. By the time we rolled here on our taco crawl, they were out of chicken. Thus, we had asada and al pastor. I also had an horchata. While I loss money on that watered-down horchata, the tacos were good. The al pastor was good, but it was not the star. Their asada is the clear crawl winner! On the north side of the busy Tweedy Downtown South Gate, it's worth the street parking.

During this difficult time of quarantine, I found this place on yelp and honestly THANK GOODNESS!!! This little piece of heaven sells the best agua fresca de Jamaica homemade there! + delicious tortas de carne asada! For under $6!! What a steal, agua fresca was like $2.75 for a large one but I'll pay that any day for some homemade agua fresca and not the trash they sell at tacos gavillan. No offense to those who enjoy their food, but this place is authentic!!

My job is around the corner and I always have my workers go get the food for me from here..but today I walked here to grab some Mexican food...its a hole in the wall place with a few tables and one tv..simple. The food is really good compared to the restaurants that are bigger and more 'fancier'...honestly I've had the chicken taco to the carne asada to the tostadas to their torts planchada to their sopes and it pretty simple and jst delicious. Their meat is very flavorful... CASH ONLY

Demanding as Mother's Day, when most places are overwhelmed, they still managed to deliver an experience that felt intentional and heartfelt. Despite the long wait, it was clear that the demand far exceeded expectations, yet the service never lost its warmth. At one point, she even offered me an agua fresca as a gesture of kindness while I waited. I respectfully declined, understanding that a day like Mother's Day comes with heavy volume and pressure, and that delays are simply part of supporting a small business doing its best under strain. What stood out most was the owner's presence. She carried herself like a mother to everyone there serving each customer as if they were family. She stepped away from her own personal time to make sure other families were fed and cared for. That kind of sacrifice and commitment is not just business; it's cultural preservation in motion. TACOZ brings authentic heritage flavors to the city in a way that feels irreplaceable. The tamales, carnitas, and overall food experience were deeply rooted in tradition and full of flavor that reflects generations of culture. People should understand that moments like this are not about convenience they are about supporting something real. On busy days especially, patience is part of respecting the work being done. Instead of criticism, there should be appreciation for what it takes to keep a small, culture-driven business alive and thriving. In the end, TACOZ delivered more than food. It delivered a connection to heritage, family, and community. That kind of experience is something worth valuing and protecting. Keep Going gurl ! I'll be back and so many of your audience ! One person doesn't bring down a team ! Both meats were good, but a little under-seasoned for my personal taste. I also tried the Jamaica agua fresca. It was refreshing, but I'd personally give it about a 2 out of 5. On the other hand, the salsa macha was really good and added a lot of flavor to the meal. The place is a bit small for dining in, especially when it gets busy, but the customer service was great. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. I'd definitely come back again because I noticed several other menu items I'd like to try next time.

Green Asada wet burrito- 4/10. The only reason why I give this burrito a 4 is because they were really stingy with their meat. My husband dissected the burrito only to find 6-7 small pieces of meat. Of the many options I just went with a brew and a quesadilla I decided on getting a pastor one and it was super yummy very flavorful and a very good size it came with some rice and beans as well both of them were delicious as well making for a yummy little combo plate. But the real kicker here is that avocado salsa that was soo good and just added some delicious zest to a already really yummy quesadilla but the other sauces were good too especially the red one it seemed more like a chili oil than a hot sauce but either way it was quite yummy! Overall this was a good time and some much needed yummy food! Hopefully I make it back here again at some point for something scrumptious as well as a good time!
