I delayed writing this review to really think through, and now I will confidently say--these are…read moreeasily the best tacos I've ever had. Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

The tostada was very hard and chewy thought I was going to brake a tooth. Asada meat and guacamole on the tostada had no salt. The only thing I was able to taste was the spicy salsa, which it's extremely spicy. My chorizo taco cold and the mulita was okay. Tortillas hand made which that's a plus Agua fresca de pineapple tasted water down too much just tasted the water with hint of pineapple. If you new to this place just know that you can ask for frijoles de la olla on the side they are free. I did like that they had grill onions and it's self serve. Street parking available, but know area not the best to be in. Tables have about 3 incase you planning eat there, & if super hungry know you will be waiting for a long time. It's really cool know it's a tire shop during the day and a taco shop in evenings. This place is very laid back attired unfortunately no music playing.

On my most recent visit, I came here after seeing a pretty large comedy show and wanted to grab a bite before heading home. Got here a little before closing so the Mercado had a chill vibe in general and there wasn't really a wait to order. I specifically wanted the squash blossom quesadilla or quesadilla de Flor de Calabaza. Oh my...just a beautiful dish that has so many different flavors and textures on one plate. And also meatless btw if that matters. I thoroughly enjoyed my dish especially since it wasn't busy in the Mercado, I was able to order some other goodies from other stands to to round out my meal. Always a treat when visiting the Mercado and especially when the lines aren't crazy. Because it was on the later side on a Sunday, parking in the lot was pretty easy to find.

I noticed he's wearing a Komal shirt. We headed inside to find a short and efficient line at Komal. Perfect b/c it was hard to choose from the perfectly curated menu. We ordered too much and yet not enough, only b/c we wanted to try it all! Total for family of 4: about $100. Money well spent! The staff was impossibly helpful, the food was beautifully presented and came quickly and efficiently, and very much with a smile. Beyond the food, they are doing something right at Komal: every aspect had such good juju. I wish them continued success!

A quick search led me to Tacos Gavilan in Historic South Central, and honestly, it was a clutch find. Seems there is a chain in of them throughout the area. Kind of like a King Taco. The place was busy, but in that reassuring "everyone knows this spot is good" kind of way. Everything is made fresh to order, and you can see the staff hustling nonstop. Super laid‑back vibe, clean dining area, and you can choose dine‑in or take‑out depending on how chaotic your day is. I ordered a burrito with half chicken, half carne asada, and both were flavorful, tender, and wrapped up perfectly. We tried a few different burritos and everything came out hot and satisfying. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering how fast they move through orders. What stood out most was the team, they work hard, efficiently, and you can tell they take pride in getting food out quickly without sacrificing quality. If you're in the area or stuck in traffic near USC and need something fresh, and fast, Tacos Gavilan fix the craving. Miguel C.

I ordered the asada taco, beans and cheese sopes and a side of rice while my husband got an al Pastor and a carnitas taco. You help yourself to their salsa bar and other toppings, like grilled peppers and onions, cilantro and onions. This was my first time trying the sopes and it did not disappoint. Good flavor and surprisingly filling; it looks deceptively small but it packs a punch! The interiors looks pretty similar, spacious and airy with plenty of tables. Service was quick and employees are efficient.
