A regular on the "Top Al Pastor" lists for LA, I've had Los Guichos bookmarked for years and finally forced our way here by making a slight detour. It's conveniently located right off the 10, we parked inside near the tire shop though there are lots of "no parking" signs it seemed OK and lots of people just pulled up and parked right next to the truck. Compared to typical Al Pastor the unique attributes here are: -A smokier charred flavor thanks to an overactive burner, tasted great and is surprisingly mild in smokiness and not dry. -More noticeable heat, if you like spicy its not as sweet as normal Al Pastor and has a pleasant hit of heat. Al Pastor tacos and burritos were OK, my order came with way less onion and cilantro than I like but the meat and tortillas were decent. There is salsa outside the truck in squeeze bottles and limes and radish in open containers, there were flies buzzing around the limes and radish and I risked it by grabbing some lines. Not sure why it's so beloved, there are plenty of other places with better Al Pastor, could have been better based on the high accolades. read more

Heard about this place from a co-worker! It was my first time coming as we went on our lunch break around 01:30 am. Still busy with the late night rush of a Saturday night. The parking is very crammed and luckily it's directed by the security guard that patrols the lot they are situated on. First impressions are it looks like your usual taco truck, but the large crowd will say that there is something special there. The Al Pastor was recommended so that's what I went with. I ordered 5 tacos with no salsa ( I like to add the green salsa they have instead of what they put) along with a horchata. The horchata was delicious! Super refreshing for the summer night and didn't have that chalky texture that you may sometimes find. It was the perfect sidekick to what was to come! Ok, so can I get serious for a minute? The Pastor!..... my goodness watching the chef cut and cook up the mass amounts of tacos being ordered is a sight to see. Once we ordered we take the ticket to the pastor cook that's located to the side of the truck. He then calls your number when your food is ready. The amount of pastor that you receive on each taco is nothing short of massive!!!! No little pieces as they are not stingy with the meat!!! The tortillas can barely contain all the pastor! You'll find yourself picking up chunks of pastor from the plate! Which is by no means a bad thing! The only thing I wish is there was some pineapple to go with it. It's my personal preference, and by no means takes away from the experience! The service was good! Nothing special, but you won't be talking about the service as that's not why you go there!!!
