Legit has become one of my fav Tacos Al Pastor spot. Mexi-Papa recommended the tacos de Tripita, gotta try it next time, I even stayed away from the Birria had just the Al Pastor. They have the Al Pastor trompo(spit) spinning all day. I got Al Pastor and tried them doraditos, they shave the meat and slightly sear it on the flat top. Parking sucks, and it is in the hood. But totally worth the drive if you are in the area. Place is in a corner parking lot, limited seating I got mine to go. Staff and person taking orders are used to the non-spanish crowd. Tried this taco truck out. The staff was super nice and the sauces and condiments were fresh. I got the birria taco which was decent but the consomme was just ok. Did a self guided taco tour for my last full day in California. It definitely did not disappoint since I am from the East coast where the reputation of taco food trucks is far inferior. The total time for my self guided taco tour was 2.5 hours (started at 12PM on a Tuesday and ended at 2:30. There was a minimal wait due to the time so the total tour may vary depending on the day.) Parking is difficult since it is located at the intersection of a Main Street and a residential street. Chile and sides were fresh and delicious and I like how you can build your own taco haha. Awesome al pastor tacos and birria (goat) tacos! And yummy horchata drink that tasted like liquified churros (mmm lol). My partner and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat enroute to LAX- originally I had researched where to find a good, authentic al pastor taco. Even though it's a random Tuesday at 11am and the only other customers were Mexican grammas who walked over to the food truck, the herbs and seasoning on the al pastor meat with diced onion, cilantro, and lime wedges were really authentic and totally hit the spot! Tasty, saucy bites with a good amount of moist and delectable meat. I haven't had a good authentic al pastor taco like this since I've been to the el fogon restaurant chains I love in Cancun and Playa del carmen. Now, the birria (goat) taco - while it looked like pulled pork at first, it tasted wayyy better- retains that distinctively gamey goat flavor but in a good way. Really tender and awesome herbs and flavorings. If I didn't love the al pastor so much I would have given the birria the must bingeability. Partner also got the carne asada and chorizo tacos but said they were underwhelming after the al pastor and birria. He felt that the salsa verde and roja (green and red sauces) were a bit watery but tasty nonetheless. The red sauce was REALLY spicy (to my non-spice-loving tongue lol). Green sauce was a little bit spicy but damn good . CASH ONLY of course but you won't need much of it- horchata was $1 and most of the tacos are still $1.50. Either the chorizo or the birria was$3 though, cuz our second order of 3 tacos (birria, al pastor and chorizo) was$6 and I know the al pastor is only$1.50. But who cares, they're easy on the wallet either way! I live in Hawaii now and there is zero good Mexican food, so I'm really glad we stopped here for a fifteen min casual lunch! I'm not a birria (GOAT) fan whatsoever but the staff recommended it to me and I can't believe how much I really enjoyed it! The whole experience here was great! I honestly can't recall the price point for El Taco Grande's tacos, but I think it was something between $1.25 and $1.50 per taco, which was right in line with what you'll find elsewhere. Star. I have been coming to this place since I was a little kid and it never dissapoint. I have tried many other birria places, but they all seem to dissapoint me after the first bite. I have been coming to this taco place since I was seven years old and now I'm 32 years old now and I still can't get enough. I get from there the tacos de Birria with the complimentary consommé I love it!!! My dad and I would come on the weekends after he would play soccer so this place will always have a piece of my heart. During the weekend as I usually go eat tacos de pastor & birria on the lunch truck of EL TACO GRANDE. Located on 55 and Main Street. I go during the morning due to pastor tacos being on el trompo from 8am to 3:30 pm. The place is big and has seats for lots of families. The place is clean it also has lots of things available like desserts movies and sports. The people there are nice they treat you nice they offer you everything. The space is big and allows big families to spend time there. The tacos are great they also have a great variety of other meats and also make platos de birria and burritos quesadillas and mulitas they put a good amount of meat in each meal. They let you customize the food you want for example they can add things or take something away. The people who work there try there best to satisfy the customer. I do recommend this place whether it's a solo meal or a meal with your family members. It's great for any occasion. read more
