I had a really disappointing experience at Tacos Los Carnales. I came specifically for the fish tacos, ordered at the register, paid, and then waited about 30 minutes for my food. After waiting that long, one of the cooks finally came over and told me they didn't have all the ingredients to make the fish tacos. It was frustrating because they had already taken my order and my payment, yet no one bothered to tell me until I had been waiting for half an hour. On top of that, getting a refund was a hassle and took longer than it should have. Good service starts with basic communication. If you're out of something, let customers know before charging them and making them wait. Unfortunately, this experience was a waste of time and very poorly handled. I won't be returning. Honestly, I had two bad experiences here and I don't plan on returning or recommending this place. The first time we came, we ordered fish tacos and paid for it. After waiting for about thirty minutes, only because we checked in our order, we were informed they had ran out of the breading to make the fish tacos. Although they did give a refund, it was upsetting that they made us wait for no reason. Our second experience, we asked for two orders of fish tacos with the sides which cost $8.99 and the cashier (rude lady) charged us $13.99 for two orders of breaded fish. We tried to correct her and she stated we were wrong. We decided to wait for our order of fish tacos and came to find out that she had placed an order of breaded fish. When we pointed it out, instead of correcting the order, they made the tacos out of the breaded fish. At that point, I had lost my appetite. Worst thing is that when we asked for a refund for the overcharge, they gave us a hard time and the cashier demanded "patience" as if we had made the mistake. My favorite dish is the Asada Fries definitely my go to! The workers there are super nice and attentive, and are pretty good with answering their phone in a timely matter. The restaurant is pretty chill place to eat at, the only thing is that they only have outdoor seating so if you come on a chilly day a sweater is a must! Its tucked away behind the old location. Its a truck right in the back. The service was Fast and friendly. Young women took my order and sent it out. I judge all my taquerias based off 2 proteins and the salsas. The salsa are all good. The heat levels are not crazy, they are super enjoyable. Salsa Verde and Aguacate are drinkable :D The red salsa is bomb too and it comes inside your burrito if you want it how they prepare it. I ordered 1 chorizo taco 10/10. Single tortilla and chorizo was shhmmaackin. The Asada Burrito was hot and yummy too 10/10. Asada had bits of fat :D. I've only ever ordered asada fries from here and pastor tacos a couple of times. I can't ever get enough of their asada fries. Their asada and pastor meat is perfect. This location is OPEN! I went to volunteer @ the LA Regional Food Bank down the street. On the way there I noticed them firing up the outdoor BBQ Grill around 9 am. I told myself that if it looked official on my way back home then I would stop for Lunch. Boy! Am I glad I did. All I needed to see was the perfectly golden brown chicken grilling to know I was going to eat well. This is authentic as it gets. I had to get the Orange soda with my Meal! Another bad experience. I really wish i would not get hungry while out and about. If i wasnt so lazy i would just cook my own meals. I normally love this place, always fulfills my expectations. However, these past 3 times I've gone during this covid-19 quarantine and I've been really disappointed with the size variation of the burritos. My husband and I both ordered the same burrito and mine was exactly 3.5" bigger than his. Im not sure how you can make two different sizes of burritos on one order vary so much. 2nd time again we were craving burritos, I love their Lengua burrito which of course there's an up charge.
