(Posting this twice because I'm not sure which page is correct) BUT this is by far the best place in Athens to get tacos, sopas... anything Mexican you want. I don't eat much Mexican food in GA since I moved from TX because it's 1) usually not authentic 2) usually not good. However, this place is legit... they are the closest thing to authentic tacos, horchata, EVERYTHING that I've had in this state. I got 3 tacos, chicken, chorizo & asada. They were served with double tortillas & topped with cilantro & onion which is the typical street style that I loveeee. They had 2 salsas on the table- an orange one that was super tangy & spicy & seemed to be habanero based, and a green one that was more of a jalapeño based salsa verde. I also got a large cup of horchata, a slice of tres leches from a bakery in Doraville, and finally a side of refried beans. Everything was excellent quality, no suspicious or chewy pieces of meat in any of the tacos, fresh toppings, tortillas, and the beans were hand made/mashed... I know this because there were some whole beans that didn't get mashed & they didn't have that canned taste. The staff was super friendly, the food came out hot & fast, and there was inside & outside seating. PLUS the prices were incredibly reasonable, after tip I spent a little over $20 for all of that food & left extremely satisfied & full. Overall, I loved this place and definitely will make a weekly appearance here. It does get extremely busy but it's worth the wait... I also love how this place hasn't changed to fit the area or to seem trendy. It has an awesome, authentic & family vibe and that also reflects in the food & overall atmosphere. Best taco spot in Athens. Super authentic, super cheap. I got two tacos and a side of rice for ~$6.50. The asada (steak) taco was really flavorful and the chicken taco was very good. The rice was authentic Mexican rice. This was during COVID so they are doing only to-go orders. You order at the door and then wait in your car for them to bring it out to you, which is really nice! We waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday night, definitely not bad considering how many other people were waiting! I wish the salsa had some spice and the guacamole was chunkier, but otherwise, a 10/10. Super friendly staff too. Would come back! read more

Was craving street tacos but the authentic kind. This place exceeded expectations. I got three asada steak tacos and an original coke for $11. They really do not short you on the meat in your tacos because I could only finish two out of the three I ordered. These were the most authentic tacos I have had and they were certainly flavorful. I used the green sauce they gave on my tacos and it was good. I was afraid of the red sauce because I didn't want them to be too spicy and the green sauce already had some kick. For the amount of food you get for the price, you can't beat this. I definitely will be back! I wanted guacamole and chips but was told they only have salsa and cheese dip. I went here with a huge group and everything was delicious. We got several varieties of tacos, sopes (basically heaven), a torta and flautas. The torta was massive and could easily feed 2-3 people. The staff is very nice about explaining things (they don't always have the full menu depending on what day), and they do take cards if you don't have cash. Unpretentious counter service taco joint. In short, good value for decent food, though I think you have to figure out what to order, as quality varies markedly from dish to dish. I had the tacos al pastor and asada (steak). The steak taco was excellent - though you could tell the cut of meat was not of the highest quality, the steak was well marinated in a deep sauce with a slight spiciness, served with onions and cilantro in two corn tortillas (el Milagro's I think) with generous portions for $1.99 per taco. The al pastor taco was not as tasty - it was overly sweet to my taste due to the pineapple chunks, which were soft and seemed like they were out of a can soaked in sugar water. I probably would have enjoyed the pork taco more without the pineapple. Two salsas are provided - a spicy red sauce and a green sauce (tomatilla base). The red sauce went well with the steak taco. I had a side of rice and beans (which is an extra charge, but still fairly inexpensive), which were mediocre and I would recommend avoiding. Rice was clumpy and overcooked and the beans were not very flavorful, topped with Chihuahua cheese. Service is pretty much non-existent, so if you need a refill on your water or anything else, speak up! read more

Best tacos in Athens! I got the chicken tacos and added avocados, pico, and queso fresco. They cook the meat right in front of you and everything is amazing, my friend got the steak, chorizo, and barbacoa tacos and loved them all. The staff is very friendly and prices are great.
