I did a togo order. So I will not be posting pics to be fair. This was my first time getting food from the restaurant. The flavors were very good. The chorizo cheese dip had a little spice to it on the back end. It was a little too watery but with a good mix up it got better. The portion size ( got the small) was a bit disappointing. I chose the Texas fajitas. The meats ( chic steak and shrimp ) were seasoned and tender. The shrimp was just 4 pieces. Again the portion size. Under the proteins were the seasoned onions. I elected not to get bell peppers. The juice that formed with the onions was very good. They provide rice and refried beans on the side as well as lettuce and chopped tomatoes. The portion of rice beans and the melted cheese was small. They only give you three tortillas and I feel it should be 4. You have to think about the " stuff " to tortilla ratio. They give you a big bag of plain nacho chips. Plain. Not salted. We also got an order of the flan. Kind of small but good taste. The whipped cream and chocolate sauce was in a little plastic ramican the size of a papa John sauce so again one bite and you have used it up and the flan to whipped cream " ratio" is not there. I would definitely try them again for a meal on premises to get the sizzle and presentation. Once I do I will update the score if it is necessary. read more

Overall the food was decent, the fajita burrito in particular was very good. We added queso on one of our burritos and asked for a small cup of diced jalapeños. The queso was a light covering and the jalapeños were in a small sauce cup about half full. When the check arrived, we saw we were charged 2.40 for the queso and 1.75 for the jalapeños, a crazy price for such a small amount! The waiter did not inform us it would be an up charge so it caught us off guard. read more

Place is clean, food is nothing to write home about. I had the chili rellanos , and a veggie quesadilla. For me, the flavor was seriously lacking. The veggies in the quesadilla were not seasoned, and it seems Like they used a white cheese sauce instead of shredded cheese so it was soggy. Love this place for good drinks and good tacos! They have amazing deals on pitchers throughout the week (Thursday and Friday especially). It does tend to get packed especially on those two days in particular but they do a good job of getting you seated as fast as they can. This place could've gotten a good review if it hadn't been for our waitress. She was absolute trash. So, so rude and you could tell she hated her job. She couldn't split our bill correctly and got mad when we asked why there were extra charges that were not disclosed when we ordered our food. I think her name was Sandy but not 100% sure. This is my favorite place for authentic Mexican food. I have been here over 6 times and I keep forgetting to take pic of my food. It comes out hot and steamy ever time. I always get the Texas Pollo Loco that's my favorite. Next time I'll get something different. No matter who my waiter is they are always nice and very attentive and I can tell they love their jobs. The only negative thing I can say is that I wish they had bigger tvs but the music keeps me entertained. read more

It's a bit hidden inside office buildings, but there was ample parking in the back when I went to pick up my GrubHub order. I had to go in and check on my order because it was taking longer than expected, but they got it out to me quickly. I ordered three tacos ($2.50 each), one torta especiale, and a cup of tortilla soup. The tacos were a bit bland to me, but the torta was to DIE FOR. Cheesy, meaty, eggy.... If you sceptical about hot dogs on a sandwich, don't be! It was the best torta I think I've ever had. A bit greasy but worth it! We came with a large group for a birthday lunch. We were sat quickly and our waitress was prompt with serving us chips and salsa and took our drink order immediately after. Our food came out quickly and it was hot. The portions were generous and the meal was well seasoned. The guacamole was the most unique to me. I've been here 4 times and 3 of those times, I really enjoyed the food! However, the last time I went here, the food was completely bland. It was so hard to finish the food. I'm certain that it wasn't seasoned and was sitting there for a while. The Burrito Especial was a bland, soggy mess, which was disappointing since I had that at my first visit here and I loved it. It was so flavorful and a huge portion. The chips and salsa here is pretty tasty. The salsa is really thin and basic, but good. The margaritas here are also awesome! I've gotten the house margarita and the Corona margarita before and they are really great. The service here is great for the most part. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but the servers are awesome! They even came and sang for my friend's birthday here last year. There's also a complementary dessert for birthdays with the staff singing and the giant sombrero. Here's a rundown of the food I've tried here: -Chicken Fajitas: I loved it! Served on the small skillet. Comes with tortillas, beans, veggies. etc. Super flavorful and a huge portion. -Shrimp tacos: Tender shrimp and pretty tasty! -Steak tacos: I like these, but the most recent visit, these were completely bland as well. -Burrito Especial: Really wonderful the first time but my most recent visit, probably the worst burrito I've tried. Our go to Mexican place in Athens! They have ceviche... not shrimp but fish. The bowl is a good appetizer with just the right amount of spice and tangy lime flavor! Salsa is puréed and comes with fresh chips. All of the tacos have fresh flavors. The chicken is always moist and goes well with the cheese they use. The pork has a bit more spice and the shrimp is grilled with the seasoning on it. The refried beans are delightful! Packed with flavor and just enough salt to make you want more. I ordered delivery today for a burrito with carnitas, rice and beans. The rice and beans were fine, the carnitas were minimal, and the texture of the carnitas was crunchy. Could not eat most of the carnitas. I used to order from this restaurant often, but on the past 3 occasions there has been something omitted from the order or like today, mostly inedible. The times I have called about items left out of my order, soft tortillas and flan, I was made to feel like I was trying to get something for nothing. I will resolve this issue by not ordering any more food from this restaurant. read more

I just love this place. It never misses. $14 margarita pitchers on Fridays and I've never had a bad experience with the food. Last time I got the shrimp burrito and you best believe I WILL be getting it again. It was so juicy and yum and huge - took my leftovers home for a second meal the next day. The place is a popular site in Athens. The salsa isn't very good. It's real soupy and tomatoey. The chips were very good. I'm a salsa aficionado so great salsa is essential. Nice restaurant with great food and a great atmosphere. I came here pretty late in the evening by myself, was seated quickly and handed a menu to look at. They serve pretty standard Mexican fare, with a large menu of different options from plates to tacos. I had a tough time deciding what to get and my waiter was patient and helped suggest some items to order. I ended up ordering the salsa verde enchiladas, half steak and half chicken. Wait time was a bit long, probably around 20 minutes, but they give you decent complimentary chips and salsa to munch away while you daydream. The enchiladas came piping hot, drenched with the salsa verde and covered with cheese. It wasn't a pretty sight, but a tasty one of course. Serving portions were large, 4 enchiladas per plate. The chicken was just grilled chicken strips and pretty bland, while the steak filling was tender and fatty, tasted a bit like al pastor. The salsa verde was a bit soupy, and pretty mild in spiciness. Overall the food was very filling for $10, you can probably split it up to feed two people. Service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere felt home-y and comforting. A favorite of ours for dinner before we head to the movies in Athens. Staff are super friendly and attentive and the food is always good. Nice portion sizes that leave our bellies full and hunger satisfied. The Ceviche is so good and my favorite appetizer. The Carne Asada is packed with so much flavor as it the chipotle flavored Steak La Mexicana. I'm hard pressed to choose between these two as a favorite entree. I think the worst thing that has happened there to me recently was I bit into a pebble in the beans and chipped my tooth. Aside from being as loud as a cafeteria, there was a one sided booth, not 6 feet from us. Facing us. So the whole time I'm eating, I've got this family, lined up in a row, staring at us. You ever 'feel' someone looking at you? Imagine that, times five. It's such a bizarre seating layout. The fat little whites of their eyes, leering at me in my peripheral. As for service.. Like the other reviewer said, the staff isn't very friendly. They had the disposition of high school lunch ladies. It seems like a pool-your-tips kind of place. The kind of place where seven different people bring stuff to the table throughout the meal, so no one individual's really suffering if you stiff on the gratuity. Also means no one's really trying that hard. It shows. Wouldn't say no to coming back, based on the food alone, but the mediocre service would make me go to one of the million other Mexican places around here that at least pretend to like their customers. read more
