Great little roadside taco place on the road to the Coba ruins.
We came by for an early dinner (eat early in Coba as it's more of a daytrip destination, so many restaurants close shortly after the ruins close). The food is cheap and plentiful, so try to avoid over-ordering.
We started with the guacamole and an order of beef quesadillas. Then I ordered the lime soup and fish tacos for my daughter, the beef tacos for my son, the cochinita pibil for myself. My husband had grilled pork. We all had some sort of batido or horchata to drink.
We couldn''t eat half of the food ordered. The total bill was about $40, which might be expensive for Mexico, but given the quantity and quality of the food, I thought it was reasonable. Everything was tasty, especially the guacamole, which might have been the best I've ever had.
Service was very friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly. The place felt reasonably clean, especially given that we were in the jungle. The restaurant is across the street from the lake, so you can watch the sunset from your table. read more
