*Note: Review is based on the location in the little shopping center w/ the supermarket, hardware store, and pharmacy. Wow! I say again, wow! One of my two measuring sticks for a Mexican restaurant is their chile relleno. (The others being chile colorado and chile verde.) Wow! These were prepared properly! Stuffed with cheese, dipped in egg wash/batter, and then fried. So delicious! When the entrees were served, they brought a spicier red sauce/salsa to the table, along with a verde sauce, plus a kind of avocado dressing. The picante and verde salsas were quite good! I though the salsa with complimentary chips had a little too much black pepper, but otherwise that was good. Also, I though the refried beans were a touch on the runny side. I prefer mine a little thicker, but they still tasted good. And this was the first time in many years/mexican restaurants where the fried rice was also prepared well. The menu has so many choices. Everyone in my party ordered a different dish, and everyone was very pleased. One tip: if coming for lunch, try to get there before noon, because the place filled up fast, seating is somewhat limited (75 seats, guesstimate). read more

Went to Taco Oxaca prior to going hiking with my pups at Raven Rock. The restaurant is cute and quaint and the gentlemen taking orders was very kind, despite 2 rather rudd gentlemen taking very negatively about the restaurant. I had 3 of the Gorditas and the horchata and it was insanely delicious and 100% authentic mexican food which had been much missed after years of living in Hawaii. The Horchata was sweet and creamy deliciousness!!! Perfect pre-hike meal and I left some to eat post hike, it was equally delicous. I'll definitely be back and I'm bringing friends! read more

Fresh food! Friendly folks who cook up some mean tacos. Liked the little diner on the side of the road place. This place is amazing! As a Campbell student I pass through Lillington from time to time and thought I would give it a try, and I left very happy! The building is very small, but very cute and colorful and when you step inside you can just smell the deliciousness. I got a huarache and my friend got the quesadilla- both were amazing! The huarache had fresh vegetables and salsa and had some great spices in it. The outdoor patio area is great on a nice day and I will definitely be back to try more on their menu! read more

This place has the best Mexican food I've ever had in my life. Don't let the pink trailer fool you. It's definitely one of Lillington's best kept secrets. Every item on the menu has a very thorough description and picture to let you know what you're getting so it's great for someone like me that doesn't know much about authentic Mexican food. Found this roadside gem on a drive into the Harnett County metropolis of Lillington! Simple, tasty, cheap, friendly, and fast are the easiest and best adjectives to describe my experience. My meal was a sampling of their tacos, since that is in their name! I enjoyed the Al Pastor and Carnitas, but was less happy with the Asada. After finishing my meal in the small sitting area, the nice server/cook told me that I should visit their restaurant because it is bigger and more comfortable, but for me this little place was perfect since I didn't have longer for lunch! One star deduction for the Asada, which was a bit bland and the buzzing, flickering fluorescent light that was giving me a headache until I begged her to turn it off, which she did. I'm going to expand my horizons and try other items on the menu, which are most likely unknown to most Americans that have only experienced traditional Mexican restaurant food! "Meh, I've experienced better." That's why I gave this place two stars. If you want a quick lunch, this is the place to go. If you want a quick lunch and good food, may want to steer yourself down Hwy 210 a little ways to El Tucan in Spring Lake. Stopped in here for the first time this weekend - I've passed by this restaurant many times, seen the reviews and knew I needed to experience the awesomeness that is Tacos Oaxaca. My wife and I ordered several tacos; 1x Chorizo, 2x Chicken. The tacos come in a corn tortilla (not my favorite, but a taste preference that has no bearing on my rating of the restaurant), ample meat, seasonings and topped with cheese. You get 3x bottles with your tacos - guacamole and two salsas (nice touch - I liked them). Everything looked great and the anticipation was building for the first bite....I took the bite and immediately I was hit in the face with the anticlimactic realization that these tacos were more bland than the Old El Paso tacos (come in a box at the grocery store with taco shells, packet of seasoning, etc). I was tremendously disappointed - how had so many great Yelp reviews let me down? Not sure... I rarely put all my "eggs in one basket" so I had also ordered the Sincronizada. As I described to my wife (who also had a few bites), this glorified quesadilla was almost comparable to a Lunchables from the 90s. The Sincronizada contained green onions, jalapeños, deli ham (looked like it came straight from a pack of Honey Ham [water added] from Food Lion across the street) and Kraft American Singles, pulled out of the plastic wrapping and slapped into the mix. The cheese wasn't even melted. I regret not taking pictures... For both the tacos and the sincronizada I had to drown them in the guacamole sauce to make them somewhat enjoyable. It's always great to try new places, but unfortunately Tacos Oaxaca does not meet my standards for taste in authentic Mexican cuisine. read more

Came here after hiking Raven Rock. I ordered a bean burrito which came with tomatoes, onions, cilantro and lettuce. My husband had carne asada tacos. Both were delicious, but it was the salsas that were outstanding- fresh and just perfect spicy. The avocado salsa was our favorite. Will definitely be coming back. read more

I'm from Southern California and the authentic Mexican food here is legitimately delicious! A gem in Lillington if you're looking for real Mexican food. Very clean, 100 food inspection score, mom and pop feel, friendly staff, don't keep you waiting long, accepts credit cards, horchata and tamarindo are also worth buying. It's rare when you find legit mexican food elsewhere. Normal pricing. Worth the 35min drive we took from Fayetteville just to eat their food. read more

After reading positive reviews on yelp, we stopped here for lunch after a morning hiking at Raven Rock State Park. This business doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it was spotlessly clean and orderly. We previously lived in heavily Hispanic areas with fantastic Mexican food and have missed "real" Mexican food a lot since moving to Fayetteville. Tacos Oaxaca served up the best Mexican food we've had since moving to North Carolina. The marinated steak tacos were perfect, and came with great rice and beans. We also enjoyed the other items we tried. The service was efficient and friendly. We'll definitely be back, and only wish Tacos Oaxaca was closer to Ft. Bragg so we could visit more often. I've seen it for years but never stopped. I read an article for the best taco joints in North Carolina and they were one of them so a few months ago while traveling through Lillington I stopped. It may be the best Mexican food in North Carolina. Very clean. Very Friendly. Very affordable. They told me that they have opened a larger full service restaurant so I've traveled several times to Lillington on a Saturday night to eat there. This is really worth checking out. read more
