The quesabirria tacos are very flavorful and I will definitely order again. We also got the potato taquitos and really enjoyed those as well. The rice was cooked perfectly and most of the salsas were really good. I have been looking for a good place since moving here from California a few months ago and glad I finally found one. This is the best Mexican restaurant in Lillington. The dishes here are as delicious to look at as they are to eat. The staff is friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. I've been to Tacos Oaxaca at least 30 times and have never had a meal that I didn't love. The tacos al pastor are delicious and authentic. Mi Cancun in Angier is just as small and does twice the business in half the time. Go there if you want to eat within 5 minutes of being seated. We paid our bill over a dead roach on the floor. Unfortunately, I had already had a few bites before I saw the roach scrambling towards our table. I squashed it with brand new *name brand shoes. This is little roadside shack that cranks out authentic street-style tacos with an extended selection of burritos, quesadillas, and so forth. Oaxaca (Wha-Ha-Kah) I recently learned about this place and so happy that I did! It wasn't too busy when I went. There was only one other group of a few adults and some kids. One of the guys was raving about how good his food was, and that's always a good sign going into it. I knew my food was going to be made to order so I expected at least a 5 to 7 minute wait, which is about the time it took. Perhaps the wait time was closer to 4 to 5, but I was so hungry, it seemed like an eternity. I got a taco combo plate (two tacos with choice of meat, and served with rice and beans on the side), and the meat choices on my tacos were one with chorizo and the other with chicken. I also ordered a carne asado quesadilla. Both were outstanding! Total cost was under 12 bucks, but I didn't get a drink because I had a bottled water in the car. Food alone, I had just enough to satisfy my appetite. There was a choice of 3 salsas at the table and I experimented with each by itself and combining a couple. I liked all of them, and each had a distinctly different flavor. The only flaw during my visit is that they forgot to give me a lime wedge. But I was too busy chowing down my food to notice until almost the last bite. I asked if a lime wedge should have been on my plate, and I was told that I should have had one, but upon my informing them that I didn't, I received an apology and a promise that I'd have my lime wedge on the plate, next time I came. Minor oversight, and I'm for sure going back. And Oaxaca may have nudged out Qdoba as my go-to lunch stop during my travels to and from Apex, NC. But I'll have to try a burrito from Oaxaca to really compare. read more

This place is delicious! I got the fajitas con queso and it was so yummy! My friends got the fajitas quesadilla, steak and mushroom quesadilla, and steak fajitas. They all said there's was great as well! For my fajitas I got the mix of chicken and steak both of which were cooked well. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. I really appreciated the array of sauces they bring you with dinner. I like being able to adjust the heat of what I'm eating. Our waiter was very nice and I will definitely be back! read more

Stopped in today for lunch. First, the bad...the interior of the restaurant is extremely small. The only place to stand while looking at the menu is right in front of the order counter and the trash cans. With orders going out to customers and other customers trying to throw trash away, we were forced to exit the building and stand outside while reading the menu. Once we had selected our food we re-entered the building and ordered. It was crowded so only go if you are willing to sit outside under the nice covered awning. Now for the good...my wife ordered asada tacos and I ordered the asada burrito plate. The tacos were simple but very tasty. No frills and no extras. It might be nice to toss in a couple chips on the side with some verde salsa. The burrito plate comes with two large burritos. One is enough for lunch so I took the second one home. The burrito was great. Highly recommend. I think I might have been expecting more with all the previous reviews but I can say I was not disappointed. Tacos Oaxaca is a solid place to eat but expect a crowd. Lastly, there seems to be three different addresses listed for the restaurant. Don't expect the typical Mexican-American combo specials of crunchy tacos and overheated enchiladas! The variety of meats offered are numerous, thus extending the menu choices. One cannot go wrong with the tacos, but the torta and the sopes are my family's favorites. Carne asada, carnitas, chorizo... Yum! It's all good! The tamales are Oaxacan-style, made with chicken in molè sauce and wrapped in a banana leaf. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. It's worth a drive or worth a stop in Lillington if you're traveling between Fayetteville and the Raleigh area. I cannot describe my overjoyed surprise in discovering a Mexican place within twenty miles of my home. Additionally, the food here is based on the regional culinary legacy of Oaxaca. I've spent a fair share of my life in this southern state of Mexico. My palate often reflects on the flavors it took for granted while there. The tlyuda is decent. For its cost, it went a little skimpy on the queso (the centerpiece to the tlyuda) and it was strange having the carne asada diced on top of the plate as if it were a pizza. The shell was fabulous (AND I MEAN FABULOUS), and the beans were decent (but weren't black and this takes away from some of the flavors needed in this masterpiece). The tacos al pastor had generous proportions of ingredients. It was definitely missing the fire roasted smoky flavor they would have in Oaxaca, but they were still good. Faltaba la pina tmb. The horchata was good. I'd be so awesome if they could make tejate! As an American, this food was awesome. As a Mexican, there is room for improvement. Nonetheless, I'll be a regular because in the middle of north Carolina one can't be too picky... and I'm desperate for certain flavors. :-) read more

All the people who have eaten there with me (and know authentic more than I) claim it's very authentic and very good. Oh and the sauce oh my stars!!!! One note they have a minimum for running a card. Located in the intersection of the 210 and 401, tacos Oaxaca is the best tacos I have ever had in nc, I look at about the name oaxaca and I found that is consider one of the best rich culinarian states in Mexico according to the mexican local people, facts usually not very well know in the us. About the food, it was somenting above the average mex food around. I actually also get a food not too condimented with black pepper or cumming as always. I ordered three tacos, one steak which had a taste on the meat which have it a really tasty flavor, one chorizo with different spices flavor and one spicy pork whick was somenthing I never taste before, and were the best tacos with a good price of 9 something with a drink. I would love to find foreign places like this with this originality but are countless. About the prices, all the menu is less than ten bucks besides one huge meal of 11 dollars. read more

This place was tasty. I think it is authentic but I thought the prices were too high. If you take your food to go, you have to pay for your salsas and avocado sauce, which is served for free if you eat there. I was with my husband and there was one other gentleman there and I thought we waited too long for our food. I would say it is taco truck quality food, but you get your food quicker and cheaper from a truck. It is a single-wide, with bar height seating against a wall for about 6 or so people. They have a couple outside tables. They have a minimum amount that you have to spend to be able to use credit/debit. I've had their carne asada, chicharron, al pastor and chorizo. All meats are flavorful as well as the salsas. Tortillas are soft, fresh and delicious. Tacos are a little pricey I believe 3$ or so, but then again I'm used to buying tacos off street vendors for 1$ in L.A. and Tijuana.
