Chips, salsa, cerveza and I suppose Montezuma.

I was staying at the Hampton Inn just across the highway from this highly rated Mexican restaurant so I figured I would give it a try. You certainly can't beat the location if staying there. It was late on a Sunday and the place was pretty empty, but there were quite a few Latinos eating which I took as a good sign. The host was very kind and got me seated quickly. Waitress was very nice. I went with the tacos al pastor, which I have had many times before in other restaurants and Mexico itself. These were very good, way better than I was expecting. Otherwise all I had was chips, salsa and a nice cold Pacifico. What can I say, meal was great. My only critique would be that they had some interesting fish dishes on the menu, including a whole fish. I would maybe have gotten that, but all the fish is stated to be tilapia. Now, come on, this fish species is to seafood what Velveeta is to cheese. This is New Iberia, LA, blessed with some of (if not the) the best fisheries in the country, and tilapia is on the menu? Missed opportunity in my opinion. Regardless, what I had was solid, so please go check them out if you are in the area and craving Mexican.

Not a bad lunch but they could be a lot better. They don't make their own tortillas and it would make a big difference. On the huevos rancheros the eggs were over cooked for our taste but everything else wasn't bad could have used a bit more spice. The fajitas were ok but they definitely didn't come out sizzling but shrimp were tender steak and chicken was flavorful. We ordered from the lunch menu but they tried charging us regular menu prices. But the servers were cordial and fixed the problem. May go back and try something else but there is room for improvement.

Nice efficient service, perhaps I was expecting too much but food was only ok, it didn't live up to reviews.

Been going to her since Fudge It opened their doors and never been disappointed. If something happens, she does her best to fix it. Below is some of the cakes she's done for our birthdays. Highly recommended. Her cookies, fudge, and holiday specialities i.e cookie decorating kits and cocoa bombs are also highly recommended!

While I didn't try a huge selection of goods, if the Blueberry Lemon cupcake is any indication, their cupcakes are MOIST and flavorful! My fave item I tasted was the strawberry cookie. It had a slight cake taste/texture and the white chocolate chips added a creamy richness YUM! The item I got for myself was a slice of cheesecake. You're allowed to add toppings like fruit or chocolate free of charge. I got chocolate and pecans - glad I added this because sadly I didn't love the cheesecake. It lacked sweetness and there were tiny clumps throughout. The best part is the prices! "Instagram" bakeries are dominating the game right now, and they can hurt the pockets, but Fudge It has beautiful, yummy treats at a very reasonable price point!

The Pac Man (ice cream flavored), Amaretto Freeze, and Wedding Cake are always my go-to flavors. The staff are consistently friendly, and the outdoor seating gives the place a fun, welcoming atmosphere. My only drawback is the pricing. For a small stuffed snowball with a little condensed milk on top, it came out to nearly $5, which feels a bit steep for New Iberia. If the prices were a little lower, I'd probably stop by much more often when I'm in town. That said, the quality is excellent, and it's still one of my favorite places to grab a snowball. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a sweet treat.

While their prices…read moremay have gone up since the 2010s, they have gone back to accepting card with a small charge which is convenient when you want a quick treat but have no cash. (they went cardless for a while). They have good menu variety and always have enough ice to juice ratio. My personal order is a medium yellow cake batter. I wouldn't recommend getting a stuffed snowball because it's just not enough ice cream to be worth the extra charge. They do have a drive through and service is always fast and the staff is always nice. It's more rustic looking and has a nice outdoor seating area that's covered with fans. Highly recommend if you're passing through!!!
