Wet Bean and Cheese Burrito.
Deejay D.

A couple of my friends and I stopped by this place yesterday. I've been meaning to try this place out for a while since they opened. The place was full, probably because it was lunch time. We were greeted as we came through the door and seated immediately. We looked through the menu. There were a lot of things I wanted to try but I settled for my unusual bean and cheese burrito. The place was decorated nicely. My buddy, who is Mexican, explained to us what the paintings on the walls were. Interesting. Our server was very nice and friendly. She was even sort of entertaining. The service was great. We got our orders after a few minutes. The plate was hot. It looked like the food was served on a ceramic plate. Authentic. My burrito looked awesome but it tasted just ok. To me it was sort of bland. I don't know. I'm comparing it to a Roberto's bean and cheese burrito. It didn't taste bad but it didn't grab me. I guess I was expecting more flavor for a fancy bean burrito. I liked that they had a roasted jalapeño on the side. Overall, my experience there was great. The bean burrito was ok. Maybe I'll try something else next time. I kind of want to try one of their strawberry margaritas.

I'm a big fan of Mexican cuisine, and Taco Tijuana Cantina didn't disappoint. Plenty of seating and staff, so even on the busiest of days they can accommodate a couple or a big banquet. We enjoyed our meals and had plenty to take home. The menu must list over 30 items, from seafood to beef with all the regulars chicken and pork etc. Our waiter (Carlos) was above and beyond good. He was tentative to our needs; must have filled our waters three times. The food came out hot and appealing. With their extensive menu it's guaranteed you'd find something you would enjoy there. Oh, and their happy hour is between 2:30 and 5:30 with drinks (cocktails) AND meals 40% off.

Came here before 5:30pm and was surprised they had happy hour pricing of 40% off all drinks and entrees. Carne asada tacos and casibrillas were

Great service and good breakfast burrito. Mine came with ham, scrambled eggs, cheese with a side of rice and beans. They also included a roasted pepper that wasn't too spicy and a good addition to the meal. The restaurant was clean other than the bathroom that needed minor cleanup. I believe they run a good happy hour as well.

Overall, pretty good! Grabbed some lunch on the weekend here. We had some friends tell us about this restaurant and we figured we would also give it a try. Our waitress was nice and made sure we were always taken care of. Chips and salsa arrived quickly. The salsa was really good and has a slight kick to hit. The tortilla chips were really stale though. I ordered an asada street taco. Delicious! The decorative plates were a nice touch well. Bathrooms were pretty dirty and the soap had water in it. They have a wonderful happy hour. I attached a photo of it, but it's begins everyday at 2:30! Would love to come back and try out some more menu options as well as their outdoor patio.

Enjoyed checking out the "new for me" Mexican restaurant and cantina. Passed the "chips and salsa" phase 1 test with a large amount of appetizer tortilla chips and a delicious just right spiced salsa. I enjoyed a chile relleno and taco combination and shared a michelada, which was delicious. Busier on a lunchtime Sunday, but not loud and a quite pleasant dining atmosphere. Service was quick. Marking this place down as one for many returns. Happy hour specials and right around the corner from home base.

We had a nice size group of 13 of us this afternoon for their happy hour. Mateo was quick with our drink order, super helpful and friendly as he always is. And the food actually came out in a very timely manner. It all came out at the same time which was very nice. We thoroughly enjoy going to tacos Tijuana Cantina because it's always super clean. They are super friendly and the food is pretty consistent. So we always enjoy heading that way. We'd love that they have a happy hour special from 2:30 to 5:30 PM every day. They do accommodate large parties because they do have a back room. We had some other friends that were meeting there in a different group and they had five of them which they seated them promptly also. Overall, it's always a nice experience.

Steak fajita burrito in green sauce

This was my first time trying Tacos Tijuana and, unlike the name implies, I had the steak fajita burrito smothered in green sauce instead of tacos. I was impressed with the portion sizes, their selection of margarita flavors, and happy hour, which is 40% entire menu from 2:30pm to 5:30pm every day. Their menu also features breakfast, kids meals, value meals, and dessert. Now onto the burrito, it was stuffed and smothered, the large portion that left me also stuffed and smothered. This was seasoned well, and the steak was sliced tenderly. Each entree came with rice and beans, the usual, as well as chips and house salsa. Although we came in too early for the happy hour, I will definitely be coming back to try it!

Stopped by as I work and live close to this place and had previously ordered to-go but never sat in. At first we were met with a friendly waitress who seated us and brought out chip & salsa and a couple of ice waters. The restaurant was highly decorated for Christmas, a man was setting up for Loteria, a few tables were filled of other customers and Selena played almost the entire time we were there -- pretty on par with what I expect for a Mexican restaurant during this time of year. My boyfriend and I ordered two margaritas, a raspberry (YUM) and a mango, both were delicious, their menu also included guava and strawberry which seems equally delicious. I ordered the quesabirria and my boyfriend ordered the steak fajita burrito covered in green sauce. His burrito was amazing! The steak was so tender and seasoned well, I was jealous I didn't order a burrito myself! The tacos were good, not the best quesabirria in my life but up there in flavor and taste. Each plate came with beans, rice, and a jalapeño. Overall, we were stuffed by the time our waitress checked in on us and since we were seated so close to the register, we were able to cash out fast. Compared to my to-go experience, the food is much better eaten inside and seated!

Our favorite happy hour place! Really good discount on both food and drinks from 2:30 to 5:30 ask for Mateo. He makes an awesome skinny margarita or even a regular margarita and very hospitable so good food and good drinks.

Came back here for our favorite Mexican happy hour. Always excellent service here. I was sad to find out they longer have the family meals on the happy hour deal though. We still had a great meal and the staff joined in celebrating my Dad's birthday with a song. They were open through our recent snow storm. I love coming here and will keep coming back.

1 carnitas street taco, 1 Al pastor street taco, 1 chicken enchilada
Courtney S.

Mediocre food that took forever to get. There were 7 total seated tables in the whole restaurant and we still waited 40 mins for our food. The chips seem like store bought which is disappointing. The al pastor is cubed and dry with little flavor. The beans were not great. The rice was ok. The enchilada was decent as was the carnitas street taco. Overall, not that good and certainly not worth the wait. Our hunt for good Mexican food in Reno continues.

It's a quick, sit-down service, so it's speedy, efficient, and you can get on with eating and good times with company. Ordered was Gina's Kale Salad, which was refreshing and delicious. It certainly was a good healthy bowl that was filling. Additionally, the Elote bowl was good, however, more flavor and spice would be nice, but otherwise, it was a great stop-in! Can't wait to try more of their dishes!

People say their bagels are amazing so we had to try. We ordered the following: - Breakfast Sando: The bagel was chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The egg was fluffy. Not a fan of kale, but it was surprisingly good. - Mochi Waffle: I love the chewy texture! It was a lot larger than I expected so I couldn't finished it all. The ube whipping was delicious and not too sweet. We got numbers at our table after paying and once the food is ready, they serve it to your table. This is a good place to order food and hang out/chat. There is seating outside as well.
