Village Well is a neat spot for many reasons. It's on of those self-serve tap bars (using the card) with around 30 tap. They are mostly beers ranging from the classics to some unique local brews in addition to some wines and cocktails. Other cocktails can be had at the regular bar. Center stage is a huge TV that usually has some game or other entertainment to enjoy in the plantiful seating. During the warmer months there are big garage door windows that let in a fresh breeze. The cherry on top is the cute little door connecting to Armando & Son's burger bar so you can enjoy that fantastic food without even leaving. Well actually 3.5 stars rounded up. I see from my photos, I was here last year in October of 2024...? Quality/Quantity - 30 self service taps. Mostly beer and a few others. See website. We discovered they had a happy hour from 4pm to 6pm, but got here at 3:45pm. So we hung out at the mall, checked out the remodeled project at the old Grafted and Whiskey place. I sure miss them... I rarely go to these types of business, but I like the concept of self pouring taps so we can try more variety and control how much or how little we want. It's 4pm! Okay, I gave my credit card and got our self pour card. It seemed like everyone waited 15 minutes and/or got here at 4pm, as all of a sudden we got a crowd of people. Sadly, the first beers had too much foam from sitting all day and not being used. But after that, easier pours. Next time I will let the 4pm rush go first and start drinking at 4:15pm, lol. Today I got the following: Erdinger Oktoberfest Hefeweizen - Very light and fruity, a good way to start. Chance of Clouds from Alibi - My buddy suggested, little did he know that I was just at Incline Alibi last week. But you know that because you are following, lol. And to finish the afternoon and dinner at Armando & Sons, we supported local and drank too much of the Revision Reno as F... Today there were two events, see pictures. And a birthday celebration right at the main entrance that forced me to walk around them every time, lol. I wished her a happy birthday of course! This is a great place. First of all, they do one thing and they do it well - beer and cider. Yes they have a full bar, but that's a service not a feature. 18 or 20 taps, and the delivery method is unique - give them your credit card and they load an access card. Use the access card at any tap as many times as you want for as much or as little as you want, then when you're done, it totals it up and puts it on your credit card. Ambiance is open, friendly, and comfortable with lots of seating both indoors and out. It's next to Armandos which has some of the best burgers and sandwiches in town, so you can go to one and the other. read more

This was a great surprise at the Village at Rancharrah. They had an our your own beer and you pay by amount poured. There was also cider, manhattan, and another drink on the pour yourself option. Additionally they had canned drinks (including NA beers), wine and mocktail options, and a food menu. Plenty of seating inside which included couch areas plus there is the outdoor main seating area for all. They had TVs playing games and there was a huge main tv which you could even view from the courtyard. Staff were super nice and friendly. Came in for the Thursday Night Football. They have a huge screen, ample seating, and a lot of beers to choose from. Perfect setting for football watching. However, I was left a bit disappointed. First the goods, they have pretty much a full bar, beers on tap you can pour yourself and canned seltzer/cocktails. The pizzas they serve are also good and you have the option to order food from the butcher next door and they'll pass it through into the bar for you. The things that left me, wanting more from this business. To begin with i noticed one of the taps was out (at 5pm early in the evening) so i told the older gentleman working there and he confirmed it was out (as if i couldn't figure out the tap....) and then just shrugged and walked away. No apology or "let me put in new keg" just seemed odd for a place that boasts beer on tap.... That same gentleman kept trying to clear our table as soon as we finished a glass, tried to get us togo boxes for food we weren't even done with, just felt like he was trying to push us out. Mind you we came for the game and were actively ordering drinks and food, so not just sitting and taking up space. Overall, he just made us feel like he wanted us to leave, which if so don't advertise football games if you don't want people there the whole game. While sitting outside of Armando's Butcher shop enjoying the incredible ambiance of the property at Ranch Harrahs a large facade dour magically opened, exposing what turned out to be the Village Well! What a fun establishment. I had to go and check it out. A wonderful bartender greeted me and she gets an A for her welcoming and informative demeanor. They have self serve alcohols lined up on the walls and I chose a light, bright sparkling Rose and enjoyed it sitting outside taking in all the activity. The nice bartender came out to check o. Ne and we chatted for a bit, reenforcing her pleasant, approachable persona. The Village Well serves nicely priced pizzas and had I not just enjoyed a lunch. I'd have ordered one. Great outdoor location to enjoy a cocktail or one of the 30+ beers on draft. I always like the pour and pay model, where you can go select which beer you want, pour as much as you like, and then get more when needed. My wife and I happened to come on a Monday and caught happy hour, which is half off drinks. I wasn't clear if there are happy hour specials on other days, would be a good addition to their website as I didn't see it mentioned anywhere. The bartender was friendly and helped us get setup with our pour card. We enjoyed our drinks out on the patio area, where there is plenty of seating, a fire pit, and nice open space with kids running around playing. Beers were good, and I also tried a premixed Manhattan using Frey Ranch Bourbon that the bartender recommended. It was really good and glad I got it. The pizza looks good, I would try it on a return visit, but this visit was for a quick drink only. The way they have the beer organized and priced was a novel experience. We were able to try many different beers for a reasonable price as they charged by the ounce. We ordered a pizza which was so good and fresh. It was delicious and went well with the beer. There was plenty of parking and the bar was clean and friendly and the large screen televisions made the game so much fun to watch. The ambiance was nice and mellow and there were several families with young children which made the experience very sweet. Without knowing if they had a menu or not, I asked the Bartender if Pizza was the only food item available. He arrogantly responded (not the way anyone should talk to a customer), "Yes. We had been sitting on a gift card for The Village Well for way too long and FINALLY had the chance to check them out. We are bummed we waited so long because this place is great! The staff was friendly and the layout and decor was elevated, cozy and inviting. They had 30 self-serve taps available, including domestic and craft beer as well as wine. They also had a cocktail menu (full bar) and canned cocktails. There were several televisions (including a GIANT screen) and a gender neutral restroom. Interesting concept they have going here. You open a tab with your credit card and are given one of their cards to use to pour your own beer/wine. Both times we've been here, there seemed to be an issue with their card but was corrected on the spot. Their pricing is all over the place, clearly based on what they paid for the keg, or so it seems. With that said, some of their beers are crazy expensive being upwards of $1.60 per ounce. Some quick math for you means that pint of beer just cost you over $25, that's eye watering. One of those expensive beers I had at a restaurant up the street for $7/pint, so their pricing is definitely a mystery. The hard liquor is no different with a shot of Buffalo Trace (of which a bottle can be purchased at the store for $22) cost $16. I'm glad there was a back on the chair I was sitting on, or I would've fallen out of it. There were many beers in the $.50-.60 range which is $8-10/pint. Maybe happy hour makes this place more affordable, I don't know...and neither did the bartender. Apparently, they have a happy hour, but they didn't know the details. Lots of TVs with football on for those into that. Staff were super friendly. They have a small menu of food and you can also order from Armando and Sons next door with delivery through the wall. read more

I love bringing people to The Village Well! It's got a great, comfortable vibe to hang out with a small group and so many different options to try so that everyone can find something they enjoy drinking. Get a card, find a drink you want to try, and serve yourself as much or as little as you want from the tap. My favorites are the ciders particularly 2 Towns Pacific Pineapple cider but I love that there are so many options and that I can try things that I normally wouldn't want to order and not feel obligated to finish a whole glass. Sometimes you just want a taste! To my knowledge they do not currently have food but they do have what looks like a full bar and a small cocktail list. Another fun thing they have is the ring swing game scattered around the tables where you try to get a metal ring onto a hook. There are also little spots that would fit a shot glass so we asked the bartender for some kind of fun shots and played against each other (pro tip: save an EMPTY shot glass to play with). I absolutely love this place! Basically, you give the bartender your credit card, they give you a Village Well card to use, and you can pour your own drink or drinks. Then, you only pay for what you pour, Which is awesome! What I love most is that there are several options when it comes to the type and size cup you want. You can choose a small glass taster cup, a larger glass or an aluminum recycle-able cup. I am not a big beer lover, so I typically go for the ciders, but being able to use a small glass allows me to try some of the other beers without having to order one, and end up wasting it. They even have a cocktail menu, and other bottle/cab drinks, so there's definitely something for everyone. The inside is great, because there are numerous tv's, couches, games and they just got a shuffleboard table! Then, if you want to sit outside, you can totally do that or even walk around the rest of Rancharrah to see all of the amazing shops, restaurants, etc. This is a great hangout for couples, friends, co-workers and even families (especially if you're outside). I recently visited this spot and enjoyed the experience. It is a big open space, perfect for hanging out and relaxing. The bartender was super friendly, and I loved that they offer a self-serve option for beer and wine. You simply give them your credit card, and they provide you with a plastic card that you tap at the self-serve stations whenever you get a refill. The system is easy to use, though it can get a bit pricey if you're not careful! You do get charged for sample pours and most brews are more than 50 cents per oz. The best part is that you can take your drinks anywhere on the property, so there's plenty of flexibility. Also, the butcher shop next door serves up some fantastic food, which you can bring over to enjoy with your drinks. At other places, you'd have to communicate all this information to a bartender and make their job harder. Here at the Village Well, you can do it yourself! The bartenders will make you a mixed drink, though, if that's what you want. There's tons of seating here, and the aesthetic is industrial but cozy. The single-stall bathrooms are so fancy, with high-end soap and lotion. The was even a squatty potty. Dang! Rancharrah is a great place for peoplewatching, both inside and outside. If you have kids, this location is excellent because they can run around in the patio area with easy supervision.
