Most of my Yelp friends are fans of this place. I especially like the fact that we can bring our own food, or order from a neighboring business. Quality/Quantity - Got the Punkin Ale, Pumpkin Ale - Good. My buddy got the Pliny the Elder. Predictable as that was what he drank when we were in Vegas together, but you already know that because you are following. They have like 60+ craft and import taps, bottles, cans, etc. Full bar available. See pictures of menus. Happy hour available 7 days a week, see website. Monday to Friday from 4pm-6pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 2pm. Atmosphere - Decent size location. Indoor, outdoor seating. Bar, counter top, table seating, etc. Plenty of parking spaces, but with so many successful businesses here, it's hard to get a space up front. Good thing we like walking. Open 7 days a week from noon till 10pm or 11pm. You can host parties here; they cater, have events, etc. Service - Okay. NOT super friendly, but got the job done. Beer NV is rightly held up as one of the best places in south Reno to snag a drink. There is a lot to love here, and is certainly up near the top of my list of places for pints whenever I'm hanging out down around South Meadows. The biggest draw here is definitely the selection. There are maybe five or six dozen different taps, having everything from mass market, to bigger craft brands, to smaller and local favorites. You are sure to find something different each time you stop by, and is one of the best places in town to branch out and find something new. And you could jump in with full pints, or grab tasters and flights to test the waters. Beyond that, there are also some taps dedicated to wines, ciders, and seltzers, plus a full bar with a selection of cocktails. Once you have your drinks, you can either take a seat in their taproom, but I would advise heading out to their lovely back patio if the weather is nice. Prices for everything are good, pretty much on par with most other multi-tap craft bars around here. Service here is very friendly, though it can be a bit slow, even at relatively non-busy times. And while they do not offer food, there are a few phenomenal food selections within their shared shopping complex just a short walk over. And lastly, parking is usually very easy, though can get very full on the weekends. All in all, Beer NV is an outstanding neighborhood watering hole. I don't get out much, but when I do I always enjoy hanging at Beer NV. Now I'm shocked I've never written a review of this bar before but I have an idea as to why. I probably didn't want anyone to know that while Beer NV specializes in beers, with several dozen on tap, they also have a stellar array of spirits and cocktails too! The spirits selection is more than just a few bottles behind the bar. They have some real great ones and the prices are out of this world too. The selection changes constantly so visiting often is recommended, and they do special tasting flights with highly allocated bottles too. I stopped in for a later afternoon dram and enjoyed blue run rye, balvenie 16 pineau cask (whoa that was good), a chai old fashioned, and a wildly unique Japanese rice/sugar cane rum that had the craziest savory umami nose and flavor! I love the staff here too, especially Anna Maye. They're friendly knowledgeable and just plain fun. This is the best bar in south Reno for sure. Make yourself a regular and thank me later! read more

The owners are very involved in the craft beer scene in town and host/sponsor the Biggest Little Invitational beer festival (a must do if you enjoy craft beer - normally in June). No food but you're welcome to bring in anything you'd like, and there are a bunch choices in the vicinity. Follow them on FB and you'll be in the know for special events, Pint & Pie, food vendors, quiz nights, bourbon flights, etc. Good happy hour as well. I have been here a few times and found it just OK. One occasion was for DJ Trivia, and all of the tables were reserved in advance. I came before everyone showed up, and it was a bit unwelcoming to arrive and not be able to sit anywhere! You could say this could be on me for not knowing you can make a reservation, but I have been to multiple DJ Trivia events across Reno and had never had that happen! It didn't even cross my mind that I would have to. The group of people I was with also agreed they would not come here again for trivia night. Not just because of the reservations, but there is not enough room for the event. I enjoy the cocktails here, and the $9.50 price is great! However, on my most recent visit, we had to wait a while for them. There were two or three bartenders, no one else was ordering drinks, and we were waiting at the bar for a long time before we were helped. I felt like I had to stare the bartender down to get their attention! Overall, this bar is not my list to go to when I am in South Reno. Beer nv is a wonderful place. I went for the first time with my boyfriend and my brother and we had a blast! The environment is very laid back and comfortable. We sat at the bar and all the bartenders were really social and fun. We noticed the couple sitting next to us was mixing their beers which we thought was crazy! I have personally never mixed two beers. We told the bartender and he made us a mixed beer that was supposed to be a peanut butter and jelly taste and didn't charge us. It was really fun. In addition to beer, they also have mixed drinks and cocktails. Although they don't have food, they do allow food in and recommend the Mexican restaurant next door. Their location is close to a busy road, but you don't feel that close because of the way their patio is set up with plenty of trees surrounding it. Yikes! I just re-read my first review of Beer NV which was almost 6 years ago. I clearly had no idea what I was talking about and also, it was very different back then when they first opened. Since then I have 35+ check-in's and absolutely love Beer NV. In fact, I was their Yelp main picture for a couple years and everyone would tell me I was the face of Beer NV, LOL or that they saw me while searching tap houses on Yelp (fun). However, I haven't frequented this bar too much in the last couple years, though I have been in quite a few times in the last couple months. They even took pictures of the whole group and shot video of the "surprise!". The Restrooms are very nice with scented stuff and pretty paintings on the wall. There is a number of local breweries on tap with even more west coast breweries. They also serve some wine and liquor as well if you are with someone who doesn't like beer. They even infuse some liquors, last time they had a cinnamon infused liquor. In addition to a nice clean interior is a small patio area to take advantage of during the warmer months. If you get hungry while you're there, it's located in Southcreek Plaza along with a pizza place, a Mexican restaurant, a deli, and more. His favorite was #4 honey blonde. The inside is a little tight I'm some spots but they do have a back patio you can hang out at with heaters. We came here for a friend's birthday party. It's a pretty good size for a party of, I'd say maybe 40 people(comfortably). The employees are nice. The space is clean, just small. Visited Beer NV last Monday after the wine place in the mall only had tangerine and pizza flavored beer. We were pleasantly surprised they had a happy hour at this time. Great service, got the Red Ale by IMBIB and the beer was fresh which is not always the case sometimes at bars with such a large number of beers. Clean bathrooms and Wifey couldn't stop talking about the great smelling skin moisturizer in the bathroom.
