Tacos Unicos is a hidden gem in South Fontana. Literally...their sign is out, so the small space is really easy to miss. If you see the Indian Pizza place, you're in the right place. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Service is quick. There is a good amount of indoor seating, but most people seem to order take-out - understandable, as they aren't in the safest or cleanest surrounding area. Decently clean interior, clean bathrooms (two single stalls). Decent parking in the small shared lot. There is some music playing on a TV, but the noise level stays relatively mild. Not an overwhelming menu, but there's something for everyone. Unless you're absolutely spice intolerant, order things "as is" without removing any toppings; you won't regret it. Their carne asada is one of my favorites: it's lean, moist, and full of flavor. 10/10 recommend their carne asada nachos (again, with everything on it). The chips are something special. They also have a good variety of drinks and desserts. Prices are standard/fair. Definitely recommend! read more

Ive been coming here for years!!! I love their sopes! I literally drove 15min...to order them. I love the spicy salsa they put with their food. It is SPICY for those of you who can't handle Chile. Personally, I like how fine the meat is cut. Also, I haven't tried anything other than the tacos, beans, rice, and sopes de chorizo and carne asada (all have been delicious). I would give it 5 stars but the meat can be on the dry side sometimes (if you go later in the day). This place is definitely a hole in the wall, but I don't care. I've never had any issues. I've been coming here for years and I absolutely love this spot. They have seats inside, u can call in your order and they're the most polite folks. They have a few new workers and the food is still very delicious and I love that because most places food changes as the chefs do but Taco Unicos has always been the bomb. This little hole in the wall on a questionable side of town is amazing!! The burrito is the best in Fontana, in my not so humbled opinion. The asada nachos are bomb! Their taquitos are yummy! I ordered a bean&cheese and a carne asada burrito. They have a 50 cents debit card fee. As soon as they handed me my bag to go, I noticed that the weight was rather light for two burritos. I asked the cook for three hot sauces since they didn't put any inside when they handed me my bag. No cilantro, onions, limes, NOT EVEN SALSA was included in the bag. Furthermore, I couldn't get any myself since all the condiments are inside the cooking area. Even though I asked him for three sauces, he only gave me two and didn't offer any additional condiments. His didn't have a friendly demeanor so I didn't bother asking for anything else. I got home and opened my bean&cheese burrito. Just like I expected based on the weight, it was on the smaller side and I felt like I was eating a Go-Gurt because I had to squeeze the beans from the bottom of the burrito to ensure that I wasn't taking bites of 75% tortilla. It only had about half the amount of beans that you would expect from a solid bean&cheese burrito. Stingy. That being said, the bean&cheese and salsa had a really good flavor, it's just not what I expected for the money. Looks like any ordinary mom and pops Mexican restaurant in a small plaza. Parking is a little cramped, but there is usually a spot or two. Food, on the other hand, is above and beyond. Always stop on by whenever I get the chance or usually after a long day at the laundromat. The neat thing about this restaurant is that their kitchen is "open," so you can see how they make it on the spot while you wait. I always grab the carne asada fries. I don't always feel the need to write a review but in this case I do. I came here based on the reviews. I'm on a date and it's my cheat day so I wanted to make it count. Sadly I feel like I should of picked a different place. I saw the pictures of the carne asada fries and they looked bomb so that's what I got. My review is just going based off on the carne. The fries and the cheese and everything else was fine. The meat was my problem. It wasn't good, it was old. You could tell it was a day or 2 old and had been reheated many times. If the meat was fresh I would of given it 5 stars . I may give this place another try, who knows. Note I came here on a Saturday night so I expected to have fresh meat knowing many people eat out Saturday nights. Not happy! read more

The real Tacos Unicos are all in Los Angeles, not such nice areas but a great tasty meal is to be expected.
