I had a great experience here. I recently had major dental work done, so I can't chew very well right now. I asked if they could cut my meat into much smaller pieces, and they happily took it back and sliced it even more for me. It probably held up the line a bit, but they never made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. That level of customer service really meant a lot. I ordered a bowl with rice, beans, and al pastor. Because of my current situation, I couldn't eat all of the toppings, so I wasn't able to enjoy it the way it was intended. That wasn't the restaurant's fault at all. What I was able to eat was good, and thanks to their kindness, I was actually able to enjoy my meal with very little chewing. The huge flour tortillas are made to order and you can watch them cook them fresh. Can't beat a freshly made tortilla for a burrito. I chose chicken for my protein along with toppings of grilled vegetables, brown rice, both pinto and black beans, jalapeños, corn, onion, cilantro, pico and green salsa, and pineapple. It made for a humongous burrito which almost didn't close. The chicken was well seasoned and flavorful. The rest of the toppings were fresh and good tasting. All in all, a very large burrito which is large enough to share or have for several meals. I will probably come back to try the arrachera next time since that appears to be very popular. It is always busy and everyone is always coming in and out. The line did move quickly. You can see the staff making freshly made tortillas for burritos and cooking in the back. This place reminds me of the food trucks from the '90s, and I mean that in the best way. Back when food trucks were packed with Hispanics/Latinos pumping out great food that reminded you of home. It was about one and a half times the size of a Chipotle burrito. The flavor... the flavor was truly amazing. The chicken was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly, with a slight smoky flavor and a light peppery finish. The toppings for the burrito were great too, with plenty to choose from. I also ordered a chicken quesadilla. That bad boy was huge and packed with chicken and veggies. My wife's bowl was loaded with so much chicken that she couldn't finish it. The beans and rice were juicy and flavorful as well. Also, their tortillas are fresh and made right on the spot. Overall, this joint is dope. It reminds me of a '90s Mexican spot. Came in here to try a new place! For it being a basic entry Mexican food takeout, it was actually very tasty. I would only give take away half star for the room inside the store because it's very very small but they do have tables outside to eat. Otherwise they get a complete five. You have many options to choose from - you can order burritos, bowls, tacos, etc. My choice was Carne Asada with whole beans & brown rice and it was actually very good. This place first popped up on my radar when it was described as a 'more authentic' version of popular chain where you get to order Mexican food in a conveyer, fast casual type of way. And for the record, I am a fan of the referenced chain, but I am also a fan of authenticity, so I knew I had to come here at some point. I stopped by off the freeway while returning from a trip up to Big Bear and this place is conveniently located not too far away from the exit. As soon as I walked up, it definitely had the same vibe and feeling where you get in line and you wait to order your main and which form you want it in. The service here is very friendly. I thought I'd beat the dinner crowd by a little bit, but it was already pretty packed. I ordered the Steak Arrachera in the form of a bowl. I added my usual toppings that I do at the other place so it's pretty similar. I do have to say the steak was delicious. If anything, the food is little more well seasoned here. I'm a fan! I've been here many times before when they first opened, and unfortunately, I don't feel like it's quite as great as it used to be. In my opinion, the portions seem noticeably smaller than they were before, which was a little disappointing. I got the Baqba steak in my quesadilla and it was so salty and overly greasy. I only had one piece that was cut for me and could barely finish it because it was so salty and greasy. I don't see myself finishing the rest and likely won't come back again for awhile. I also noticed a lot of new faces of staff members , and the hospitality just isn't what I remember. The ladies were a little more welcoming and attentive, while the guys seemed uninterested and not as friendly. One other thing I noticed was being charged an extra $0.50 for doing half-and-half meat, even though both meat options were the same price. I don't mind paying an additional charge if that's the policy, but I think it should be clearly noted on the menu so customers know ahead of time rather than seeing the extra charge when paying. This place used to be a 5/5 for me, but the experience today is much less. The hype is true. All of it. Line is long. Food is amazing. Employees are kind and patient, as if the line isn't the DMV. The two employees I want to shout out are Jacob and Lesly. They had the patience of a catholic nun, and Jacob did a great job making my burrito, and Lesly was uniquely pleasant with us when she checked us out. There's very little room inside the place, unless you don't mind being sardines next to the packed line while you eat and the AC blowing on you. The portions of meat are what everyone wishes chipotle does. It's almost too much, and that's a great problem. We ate it at home and all the food was amazing. All the salsas were good and had flavor that added to an already delicious burrito and bowl we ordered. Just go there and order anything. There's no bad choice. The burrito on the other hand is so big its shareable. Two skinny people can literally cut in in half but if you're a big back or love burritos this is the spot! Holy smokes this place is delicious! Got the steak bowl and they filled up the bowl, providing large portions. I had another 1/3rd left of my bowl after eating this on an empty hungry tummy. The steak has so much flavor and melts in your mouth. They don't cheap out on it either so every bite has a little bit or chunk of steak in it. The sauces they put on there hits too. They're creamy and plays well with the other ingredients, which all taste fresh and delicious. The service is quick but it can get crazy sometimes. My husband initially brought Baqba leftovers home one day, and I was surprised at how good the carne asada was, considering it had been sitting in the container for several hours. I was excited when we got to try it recently after a long day at work. We sat outside despite the cold weather because the place had a huge line, and although there was room to sit, it felt very crowded. This time I had the birria, and it did not disappoint. The reason for the lack of photos is that we absolutely devoured the food. The al pastor pork was also insane, and overall, everything was delicious. The price is hefty, but it's worth the amount of food you get! I would say we arrived around 9 PM, and some of the toppings were looking a little dated. For instance, the corn was quite unappetizing, and I didn't like that they used a yellow onion instead of the traditional white onion. This is the reason for the docked star. We will definitely be back, mainly because Miguel, whom I assume would be in charge, was absolutely delightful and came around multiple times to ask how we were and if we were enjoying our experience. Chipotle who??? Baqba has the same "build your own"concept as Chipotle, but Baqba tastes more authentic and is so much more flavorful. Their meats are juicy and taste well seasoned. I've been a loyal Chipotle customer for years, but after finally trying Baqba Mexican Grill, I can honestly say I'm hooked. I ordered the steak arrachera burrito, and it was MASSIVE--literally bigger than some newborn babies I've held. What really stood out was how generous they were with the meat. Unlike Chipotle, where it sometimes feels like you're getting more rice than anything else, Baqba loads you up with high-quality steak in every bite. And the price? Only a few dollars more, which is completely worth it for the portion and quality. Speaking of quality, everything tasted fresh and well-made. Even the tortilla impressed me--it held together all the way to the last bite, even though the burrito was so big it could barely stay closed. That's something I've never experienced at Chipotle, where the tortilla usually gives out halfway through. The customer service took the experience to another level. Not once, but twice, employees came outside to check on us and see if we needed anything. One of them even stayed and talked with us for about five minutes, asking what we liked most and genuinely engaging with us while we were clearly excited to try them for the first time. That kind of service is rare. We ordered two burritos, ate most of them, and the leftovers alone weighed almost 3 pounds--that's how huge these things are. The service was ok. They rush you a bit but I can understand why because they stay busy. The tortilla was heated fresh but the service station needed refilled and that may have been why my food wasn't as good as most. The ladies were calling for refills of items but it wasn't coming out. I ordered a salad bowl with steak, black beans, corn, cucumber, cheese, avocado salsa and another salsa, pico, and sour cream. There were hardly any black beans left so it was watery. They put the lettuce in first with hot meat and beans on top which is normally ok, but by the time they get to the 2nd station, it's been sitting for a while and that may have also played a part in the taste. The bowl tasted soggy and the steak was too salty for me. The entire bowl just tasted salty. The meat being salty may be a preference thing but the bow was still underwhelming. The ambiance is bold and casual. There's not a lot of searing inside or outside so if you have a large group you may want to consider getting it to go.
