Great selection and customer service, but way overpriced considering Amazon.

About 3-4 months ago I ordered a hat and a shirt. I got the shirt but never received the hat. I emailed the owner and he said it may have been lost threw the post office because it said on the tracking it had been delivered. So he said call the post office and see if they have it. They did not now anything about it. I emailed the owner again and he did not respond. Here I am with out a credit or a hat. The least he could have done is give me a credit or simply send me a new hat. I hope this doesn't happen you anybody else. This is why I'm giving a 1 star review. read more

It's like walking into a cool online store that has everything right there in front of you. Let me rephrase that it's like walking into the neighborhood toy store but for adults (no not a pervert store) lol anyways I read here somewhere that the prices are so much more than the internet and maybe a couple of things might be in the store literally maybe a couple everything else is right there as the prices online and let's not be arses and forget that they have rent and other expenses to pay for, if you really think about it after shipping and handling it becomes the same thing without the waiting period. Make sure to go with maps because it might be hard to find your first time as it was for me to see the place but over all everything was great with my experience I just wish the store was bigger and had double the stuff so I could go spend hours there looking at all the cool stuff. read more

I am writing this review now because one, i rarely write reviews on anything, and 2 i am getting ready to go back to them . But in all honesty, ive been here a handful of times over what is now a 5 year period. I still utilize some of the gear i purchased here the first time i walked in about 5 years ago. To all who complain about high prices, keep in mind you get what you pay for. Some of this equipment is designed and made to last through hell/combat. So no it isnt going to be cheap. Maybe you are cheap. Their service is impeccable, given you are a reasonable, level headed citizen. I look forward to seeing them again soon. read more

This place is great. There's really no other place in Los Angeles where you can find this many shooting accessories and tactical gear in stock. To those people (you know who you are) complaining about the price not being the absolute lowest you can find anywhere, just remember that you're not buying from Amazon or some BS large retailer with a sales person that is either non-existent or has know idea what they're talking about. You can get real answers from nice people who share a genuine interest in the product they are selling. BTW they are competitive with their pricing and are much lower than our local gun stores in LA. read more

Been to Tactical Pro Shop a few times over the past year including today and I always walk out those doors satisfied! They introduced me my first visit to Benchmade what at first glance I thought "damn those are some expensive blades". They are absolutely worth the money and I own four now and expect that number to keep growing! Customer service is top notch and it's nice to have a local store like this to support! I had recently purchased two Benchmades on Amazon only to find out once I visited the shop today that I overpaid!!! So I promptly purchased the knives here and the others will be going back to Amazon! After comparing the knives to each other I'm not even sure one of them from Amazon is a legit Benchmade knife! After remembering I needed something for my gun belt before returning to work on Monday... I came to realize that absolutely no uniform/tactical gear stores were open at 4pm on a Saturday, or Sundays at all! I'm not from the Burbank area, but was on that side of town for lunch when I found Tactical Pro on Yelp. I gave it a shot and wasn't let down! I stumbled upon Tactical Pro Shop through an online search, while I was shopping for a handgun holster that fits into my molle backpack, I decided to give them a visit before ordering online. I was immediately greeted by Matt (Owner). I explained what I was looking for and I was impressed because he knew immediately what I wanted. He had to special order my item and do little custom fitting. Now my item looks like a part of my backpack. Tactical Pro Shop Rocks! I'm a bit of a part time adventure. In the past I got big 5 or old military surplus gear. And has always failed in the field either it's cheap Chinese crap or aged Cold War gear. One of my customers told me of this place (what's up Messex!) and I thought it was going to be wall to wall voodoo tactical or condor gear. Man I was wrong! They got most of all the premium gear! Maxpedition, Camelbak, Blackhawk and so on. I'm still impressed every time I visit. Matt the proprietor is knowledgeable of all his products, if you have any questions or concerns he'll address them. I was looking for a 72 hour bag and he gave me five different brands and well I went with the Maxpedition Vulture 2 in kaki. Unfortunately they did not have it in stock, however Matt jumped on his workstation was was able to special order it for me. 3 days later I got a friendly phone call of its arrival. I love this bag it's been on manny adventures to the Bridge to Nowhere, Bonita Falls, Little Jimmy Trail and the list goes on. Since then I've gotten Surefire flash lights, Falcon 2 back pack, Magpul accessories, various knifes & pouches. The staff is friendly and helpful they have a great selection of products. You can get most of this stuff online and read reviews. But to walk in and personally check it out and compare products you only see online gives you better option in making a more informed decision. In the end Matt runs a tight ship with a qualified crew I highly recommend this place if your Military, Police. Firefighter, EMT, Responsible Gun Owner or Adventurer. read more

This is the only tac shop I go to because the owner Matt and all the staff go out of their way to get whatever your looking for. I bought a bench made knife and bent the clip. I brought it in and they replaced it no questions asked. They have a good selection from knives, holsters, optics and everything in between. If they don't have it they will order it and they don't jack up the prices like other shops. read more

Very rude and usually way overpriced, the owner gets upset when you mention that their item is much more expensive than another business like amazon( sometimes double on certain items) and always has some snarky remake about being an actual store with employees or whatever excuse he uses. I'm sorry but I can tolerate a small mark up to support a local business but most of the times it is an unreasonable amount especially when other brick and mortar stores have competitive prices and when you mix a rude attitude on top of it then you have definitely lost my business. If your going to have outrageous prices than at least have outrageously good customer service. I do not recommend anyone shopping at this store and recommend you save your self some money and shop almost anywhere else. Awesome shop! Pictures don't show justice. They have a bunch of stuff on the store. And they have veterans and military discount.

So after several calls and never receiving a call back, I went in to return the backpack. Seems that the usual Joe isn't really made to feel comfy there since they cater to movie sets, doesn't seem like normal every day people aren't the business they want. The guy seemed almost irritated that I brought the bag back and left me in the middle of the transaction for another person to finish. As if he didn't want to bother with the commoners. The store itself is awesome but the service may be the reason why I wont return to this store. There are several tactical shops to choose from, this was just convenient since it's close to my job. However, going elsewhere may be my best option. So I'm dropping the rating down to a 2 for customer service. read more

As an EMT and wilderness rescuer, I cannot say enough good about Matt and his staff at Tactical Pro shop! They are knowledgable, friendly and helpful. They assisted me in creating a tactical med kit backpack system that worked for my small frame, as most of them are very large and cumbersome. They went above and beyond to ensure that I got the exact bag that we talked about too. (Maxpedition shipped a powder blue bag when we had ordered an emergency red one. Matt was as horrified as I would have been at the terrible color and went and picked up the correct one himself!) They enjoy what they do, because they are very clearly gear heads like the rest of us that go in there and drool over their wares. They have also been fair about returns.
