But was excited to come out here and try their range, drove almost an hour away, never coming back due to the very bad customer service and rude personalities of all the workers. Unfortunately today we went and there was an Asian employee that was extremely rude to myself and my friends. He seemed annoyed to be there and was belittling. Agree with all negative sentiments. I used to come here a lot before Covid. I shot thousands of rounds at this place; all the guys had a cool sense about them. You could tell they were gun guys; they understood safety and were helpful no matter what your level of expertise. Stopped in a few weeks ago to check the place out and felt the unwelcome vibe the second I walked in. Everyone was rude. All the negative comments I have read are true, especially the chubby Asian guy (my in-laws are Filipino, so it was him, not me). I think they are all frustrated 'Special Forces' wannabes. I believe I saw the manager in the back room, and he didn't seem to care about what was happening. The look he gave me made me realize why all the guys up front treat customers so poorly. I visited The Target Range in Los Angeles with two friends to celebrate a birthday on 11/26/2024. We were excited to try new handguns since we're all like firearms and have prior shooting range experience. Unfortunately, our visit was ruined by an employee with a black beard who behaved incredibly unprofessionally. From the moment we arrived, she/he had an unwelcoming attitude, as if hated us for no reason. Negative energy was overwhelming, and her/he demeanor made us feel completely uncomfortable. The employee gave curt, dismissive answers to simple questions, making it clear she/he had no interest in helping us. For example, I showed her/him a picture of a Smith & Wesson Shield I wanted to try, and she/he responded dismissively, saying, "They're all here on the stand," and claimed they didn't have it. Later, I noticed two were actually displayed, which made his/her response even more frustrating and misleading. While the shooting range itself is great, it's a shame that one unprofessional employee with a terrible attitude can ruin what should have been an enjoyable experience. Customer service matters, and I hope management addresses this issue to ensure other customers don't encounter the same treatment. read more

He delivered a great lesson that was friendly, light-hearted, filled with great information, and he completely eased my concerns when handling these killing devices. This range just is not what it used to be. I used to be a member here and would go every week. Lately I've been going to Oak Tree and Angeles, and now after revisiting here, this is the one range I refuse to go to even though it's less than 10 minutes from my house. The heavy-set Filipino guy (I think he was Filipino?) was super rude to us straight from the start. Just one of those attitudes where you feel like somehow you're inconveniencing him because you walked into their place of business to spend money. Why are you in a customer service job when you obviously do not like people? If you're having a bad day, call in sick. Also, their ammo prices are absurd - $40 for a bag of (50) 9mm RELOADS... it's $13-$17 for a box of brand NEW bullets at Turner's! Just simply preying on people who don't know any better. Don't plan to practice shooting faster than one trigger pull per second. No, literally they define it for you like this. Some ranges in LA will tell you no rapid fire, but they generally are fine with short bursts as long as you're not mag dumping. And some don't even care about the mag dump. This place literally manages your shooting second by second, so don't plan on getting any sort of real world practice in here. Then one of the employees came in to start cleaning up - I felt brass hitting me in the back of my feet, and turned around and he was sweeping the floors into my lane. Like is this a "I heard attitude in your voice after my coworker was condescending to you so I'm going to fill your lane with brass" or something? Seems super childish and unlikely, but also I can't think of an explanation where he didn't realize he was raining brass on us, and didn't think he should say "oh sorry! Broom slipped!" Just, go to Oak Tree. Or Angeles. Or don't! But if you come here you definitely shouldn't expect it to be a FUN experience... read more

This was my first time at a any range. I was just stopping in to see how my fiancé was doing, knowing he has wanted me to join him for a long time now. I was apprehensive at giving it a go, but along with my fiancé, who is an expert, and the guys working that day, I had my first lesson on gun safety / use. I am that person who always asks a lot of questions, and this was no exception, especially because this was a serious thing for me to try and I wanted to be sure to be safe and respectful. The staff was very knowledgeable and patient, helping my fiancé with making me feel comfortable and confident in learning how to properly use a gun- thank you to the crew working that day! Each of the lanes were busy when I arrived, but my fiancé said they were half full prior to that. Overall it was a positive atmosphere, the staff were all making sure people stayed safe- I could hear them over the loudspeaker doing just that. If I'm going to continue to practice gun safety, this is definitely a place I'd come back to. My fiancé has been coming here for years and really likes everyone at Target Range. read more

This place doesn't know the law. I lost my California driver's license a few months ago and I wanted to go shooting. I didn't think using my passport was a problem because it's literally a federal ID. I printed my temporary driver's license and took my passport with me. I arrived and told them I only have my passport and a temporary driver's license. They said we can't use that and that I need a driver's license. I ask if that's just your policy or that's the actual law. They said it was the law. If it was just their policy then fine, it's their business but that wasn't the law. I went to other ranges and they were fine with just my passport. I asked other ranges about this and they said you just need any form of ID issued my the government. read more

I came here because it was a bit closer than the Firing Line in Burbank. They don't let you shoot the 5.7x 28 pistol because it is a "rifle round". For one it is not really a rifle round, so they should hire more knowledgeable staff. I can shoot this all day at the firing line indoor range in Burbank. Second, nowhere on their website is it mentioned that you can't shoot a 5.7 pistol round. Third they have a lacking selection of mostly used guns, including a FN five seven pistol which you can buy, but apparently can't shoot at the range. The irony and hypocrisy. I had to drive all the way back to the indoor range in Burbank because they wasted my time. I went here last about 10 years ago, it is much smaller. read more

My husband and I had a great experience with my gun lesson today with Aris! He was absolutely amazing--super patient, knowledgeable, and calm. He didn't rush anything and made sure I felt safe and confident every step of the way. I was hesitant to even load the guns and ended with me actually enjoying myself and being super comfortable shooting. If you're nervous or on the fence, please ask for Aris. The right instructor really does make all the difference... not sure if I would have enjoyed the experience as much if I didn't have Aris as my instructor. I live in Van Nuys and the target range is less than 15 mins away so just by shear convenience they've become my go to firing range. Now even though it was out of convenience it doesn't take anything away from the great experiences I've had each time. I go during the week after work and I've never had an issue getting a lane. The guys working there are always cool and available to answer any questions you may have without making you feel like an idiot. Ammo is a bit pricier than most places but it's a convenience thing like airport food. My suggestion is purchase ammo in advance to save a little money. I have my own firearms so I've never rented from TTR but they have a legit variety of handguns and long guns for rent. If you're in the neighborhood or just looking for a chill, environment to test out some tools then give them a shot. read more

I called looking to buy a p238 as well as do a private party transfer of a pistol to my wife. They said they had the p238 in stock, and the price was actually pretty good. Then the guy said "We are not doing private party transfers". I nicely asked him why that was. He gave me a bunch of attitude and responded like a robot with the same answer. I told him that we would go somewhere else then and hung up. His rude customer service cost them a sale in less than a minute. It blows my mind that these gun stores continue to employ rude workers who seem to not care about the stores profitability. Also, I'm pretty sure the reason he wouldn't give me a straight answer is because they are legally required to do PPT, but they don't make much money off them. Used to come here more often as well as being a member. Cancelled my membership and asked for a refund when they stopped honoring several of the membership benefits I had paid for. Not sure if it was the owner or manager but he just kept making excuses for their decisions. They have a couple good employees but most are rude and short to their customers, especially new shooters. Met with a friend here the other day and the experience reminded me why I continue to drive to other parts of LA to shoot despite this range being only miles away from me. New to the area & it's 10 minutes away. First experience, I called to ask if they performed FFL service. Guy who answered seemed totally confused as to what I meant and after I explained what I was looking for I got a really borderline rude, "no we don't." Second, so I'm already a little iffy on this place but I had just picked up a new shotgun and wanted to give it a run so I headed over. (Firing Line in Burbank is next closest place and doesn't allow shotguns.) Parking sucks but whatever. I've got a rifle bag on my back and I opted to bring some crappy cardboard targets I had thinking maybe they won't let me use them, but may as well try. As soon as I opened the door, I got a weird welcome and I said, in a very friendly tone, "Hi, how are you?" And the response was, "what's in the long bag?" I said a shotgun. Reply was, "first off, you can't use cardboard targets here. You are going to need to put those back in your car. You may be better off shooting at Oak Tree and Angeles." Now I understand having to put ammo back in the car, back the target? Ok, whatever, but fine. I'm just trying to try out this new gun for half an hour. I asked, "ok that's fine, I'll run out, anything else I need to know or should drop before I go back?" He asks, again in a very short manner, "do you have your own ammo? Because you can't use that, either." Cool, I definitely have a very specific ammo I'm looking to run through this specific gun but I ask what they have. Just double 0 buck and I forgot the exact price but was definitely more than I was willing to pay for ammo I wasn't looking to use in this. So I said thanks, till try one of those other ranges and joined Oak Tree a couple of weeks later. read more

Came here for a safety training class. Had Luis as our instructor. He was honestly the best! Made me feel so comfortable holding a gun, though it was my 4th time at a shooting range. I always sucked at aim, but somehow I did amazing after he showed and helped me. If you want to learn everything in detail, Luis is your guy ! All the guys there were so helpful and nice. Will def come back!! Parking: they have a small lot for about 6 or so cars, but there's street parking.
