I've heard nothing but good things about this place the last time I was in town. It was my brother-in-laws birthday and I wanted to surprise him with 2 Tomahawk steaks! I called the location and they picked 2 out for me, let me pay over the phone and allowed me to provide a name of the person to do the pickup! They were very polite and genuine over the phone! They even offered to send me the pictures of the steaks via text, which was also really great of them! I am extremely satisfied with their great customer service and their amazing cuts! I can't say enough good things about this place. They've got such a great selection of meat and a decent seafood section too. We picked up some tri-tip for Christmas dinner and it was incredible. It's tough to find places that carry that cut so we were excited to learn that they had it in stock. The quality of the meat was top notch and the butcher behind the counter was great to work with. Everyone who works there is friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. We've never been the meat market type of couple, but when we moved here and found the quality of the meat from Kroger so low grade, we had to find a better source. Our neighbor told us about Tag'z. All I can say is O M G! This is life changing! We've been missing out all these years. I've never really loved beef until now. We've been buying their fillet and when you can cut it with a fork it's so tender. Well, I came upon Tag'z and decided to give them a call to see if any were available. Sure enough, they were! I told them I'd come by on my lunch break to pick up a dozen on the half shell. They had it packaged up and waiting on me when I walked in the door. Super friendly and I can't wait to go back for more! I cooked the oysters on the grill with butter, garlic, and Parmesan. The folks at Tagz are so helpful! I called the shop before Easter to order a tri-tip. I had a great conversation with the owner and he helped me figure out how many pounds of meat I would need for the number of people I was feeding. When I went to pick up my order a few days later it was ready and waiting! The prices are great for the excellent quality of meat they sell. The store itself is pretty tiny and we drove right past it since it's kind of off the road a little bit. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, and seemed very knowledgeable about the different products they had. They have a Pick 5 combination deal for $39.99 that seemed like a good deal, but we weren't looking to get that much food. Great Great meats. They may be a little pricey compared to the box stores, but you get what you pay for. My opinion is you get more than you pay for at Tag's. The first time I bought from them, I realized that this is what beef is all about. I bought a couple of filets for my wife and I. Venison is still my favorite, and Tag's is right up there with that. Tag'z is about as good as it gets! I am always treated as though I am an essential customer which means I never feel rushed and can talk through my meat preparation ideas with people who know what they are talking about. The meat is always top quality and obviously superior to anything that I have seen at a local grocery store. Calling ahead has worked really well for me but on Tuesday ( they're closed Monday) I will stop in for an an 8 lb. beef tenderloin for Christmas Eve grilling and pick up some pickled vegetables and stuffed olives too.
